2) The Pink Elephant – Paper piecing. I paper pieced the cat. I printed him on grey, white, pink and green. Cut out the pieces I needed in each color and assembled them on the grey.

When I was at the scrapbook store I saw this paper and thought it would work perfect for this image. So I had to find a sketch that would allow me to have lots of the paper showing. I printed the image a little larger then I planned but it works. My coloring is no where near some that are amazing at it but I’m getting better and I’m happy with how this turned out. Thanks for looking. The purple and brown is WAY different combo for me but I think it works to bring the colors out of the image. This card was inspired by Sketch 74 @ 365 Cards.

CHALLENGES:

1) Designed 2 Delight – Anything Designed 2 Delight!! I haven’t had a chance to play in a long time but I got this free stamp awhile back and have wanted to play with it. So I figured this would be the perfect time with their challenge to use any of their stamps. The next challenge will be a free stamp and if you keep playing every week you keep getting FREE stamps!

2) For Fun Challenge – Aahh the Sun of it All!!  This week our challenge is about Sand/beach- Show us the fun of summer by showing us the sand/beach.

I paper pieced part of this. I printed the digital stamp out on the turquoise polka dot paper and cut it out. Then printed the image on watercolor paper as the base of my paper piecing. I painted several flowers till I was able to cut out the ones to pop dot them over the original stamp. I love how this turned out and has paper and water coloring elements.

2) GAB Challenge #14 – Use the color combo below. It says Turquoise and that is what I used but I have such a hard time with this color because I tend to go more blue then green. But the name of the paper had turquoise in it!

I didn’t have that exact green for my leaves and grass but I tried to mix different greens together. Hope it counts!

3) Amber’s Crafts and Stuff – Challenge #8 Special Lady – Make anything you want with a Special Lady in mind. This could be a Mother’s day card, a gift for a special lady in your life,

a layout that reminds you of someone you’ve lost – its up to you, just make sure its for a Special Lady!

- I will end up giving this card to a friend or selling it so someone else can give it to a special lady in their life!

Well, three months ago I didn’t even know what a digital stamp was! But now I play with them weekly so this was an easy challenge for me. I got it done the day the challenge was posted but was hoping to get another one done but that didn’t happen (I like to push myself and do different cards for each challenge….the goal of a challenge  is to inspire you and help you get more crafty things done….well, that is my take anyway.)

The two big flowers, blue butterfly and bullfrog are all pop dotted to give it some dimension. Thanks for looking.

Well, it ends up not being for any challenge cause I’m a day late! I don’t know why it always happens with the challenge on Card Ideas from the Designed2Delight Designers.

But the challenge was to make a card for a man/boy. This is a birthday card for a male friend of ours that turns 23 tomorrow. He is like 6’7″ so when I saw this giraffe image I thought of him!

I was so disappointed I didn’t get to play last week and receive this image FREE in my inbox. But I had to get it because when I saw it I thought it would make a cute Mother’s Day Card. I trimmed out the flower that came with the image because I wanted to focus on the ladybugs. It reminded me of a mother caring/juggling her children and the life that goes with being a mother. So that is how I came up with the saying and the card. (Thanks husbee for helping me come up with the perfect saying!)

The image was printed on red cardstock. Then I punched circles out of black cardstock and glued them on.

I traded places with where the boxes went. I also opted not to put a box under the ladybugs but I still have an image there in the shape of a  long rectangle. Thanks for the inspiration.

I tried to color it with pens but once again was reminded that not all of us are made to be stampers! I’m a cutter and embosser so I will stick to that. Still love these images so I colored it in Photo Shop and printed her out!  Found the quote on the internet:  Angels may not come when you call them, but they’ll always be there when you need them.

1) Designed2Delight Digital Stamps -  Make a project using this image (“Lucky Bird”) – It is a free image till 03/10/2011 at midnight. This is my first time with a digital stamp. I’m not big on stamps because I can’t color them where they don’t look like a grade school kid got a hold of it!! (They could probably do a better job). But as my husband artist stated “you need to branch out and try new things.” So here is my first attempt. Loved this image so thanks for the inspiration.
