Trust in the Lord

Clear Dollar Stamps is sponsoring Tuesday Morning Sketches this week so I just had to play. I love their sketches and get to show off the Value Verses Digital Stamp from Clear Dollar Stamps all at the same time…doesn’t get much better than that.

I’m in an all girl discipleship class at my church and we get a different person to pray for each week so I have decided to send the person I pray for that week an encouraging card. This week I’m praying for my friend Stephanie and this was the perfect verse for her card. I combined it with the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches and I have to say it turned out pretty darn cute. The color scheme was picked because blue and yellow are Stephanie’s favorite colors!

Thanks for stopping by!

The challenge today at Clearly iStamp is SPRING!! I struggled a little with what to use on this challenge. The images I thought that would work perfectly I had already used lately so didn’t want to use them again.  This image came out a month ago and I didn’t get to use it then so I figured this was a perfect time to play with it! I paper pieced the image and used up some Doodlebug Scraps I had.  I decided to make two cards for this challenge while I had the supplies out.

Here is my favorite!

And here is the other one using up the supplies I had on my desk!

I was off on Wednesday last week and it was the first time in MONTHS that I wasn’t rushed to mark things

off my To-Do List! It almost felt weird trying to figure out what I wanted to

work on at my own pace. But I managed and I’m happy with the results.

I used Charliene April Showers Digital Image from Clear Dollar Stamps.

I love having a husband that knows how work Photoshop! I asked him to put the images together

to make a “scene” and in less than 5 min I have this totally cute scene of Charliene in a puddle!

I colored her in with Tombow markers then I found the perfect paper in my Doodlebug stash (just LOVE them!).

I used sketch #46 at Deconstructing Jen for my inspiration.

You can’t tell from the photo but the raindrops and puddle are glossy to look real!

One of the girls I work with buys my cards and she put in an order for 3 cards. She wanted one for her niece, one for her grandma (must have a pig and I have one in mind!) and one for her girlfriend. Her girlfriend is married so I couldn’t do a funny one about boys so this is what I came up with. I hope she likes it.

This was my first attempt at making ANY homemade flowers. I saw on Paper Variety these fan fold flowers so I found a tutorial and tried them. I do recommend a cardstock weight paper otherwise it tears and crinkles easy. This technique is what totally inspired this card. Thanks!!

CHALLENGES:

1) Tuesday Morning Sketches – Sketch #129 – Follow the sketch provided.

2) Totally Paper Crafts – MAKE YOUR OWN FLOWERS :-)   You can use Punches, Die Cuts, Hand Cut etc …

3) January Card Challenge at scrapbook.com - Photo Inspiration challenge. Use the photo provided as inspiration.

4) The Paper Variety – Use a fan fold embellishment on your creation

5) January Use your Scraps at scrapbook.com - 85% of your project must be from scraps. The black and white paper is the only not scrap thing!

Jan 2012 Digital Release Day with Clear Dollar Stamps

The Digital Stamp Artists at Clear Dollar Stamps have been cranking out some amazing stamps for us to play with. It was hard just picking one or two to showcase as there was a TON I wanted to play with. Darn life wouldn’t give me enough time to play with them all at once. So I picked two stamp sets but if you want to see the whole collection go to the CDS blog Clearly iStamp and they will displayed there.

The first one I will show you is Toucans of Love Digital Stamp. Of course I had to change it up a bit to show you how versatile they can be and made mine to be about friendship. The original stamp has one bird with eye lashes and one bird without. So I researched and found that in only certain species can you tell the difference between a male and female by looking at it. I then asked the artist, Laurie Wilson,  if it would be okay to make it two girls for friendship and she said, “of course!” So then I sweet talked my hubby into adding eyelashes in Photoshop to the bird on the right. My husband keeps telling me he is going to get a shirt made that says, “My wife only loves me for my photoshop skills!!” I laugh and tell him it’s not the ONLY reason but it sure helps! (just kidding!) Okay back to telling you about the stamp….this stamp comes with the cutest digital paper. It made this card come together quick and so perfectly. Of course my new Cricut cartridge, Elegant Edges, I got for Christmas helped too….see the frame around the stamp…cute, huh!? I followed the Mojo Monday #218 sketch. This stamp comes pre-colored (like I used) or in outlines so you can color it.

Oh, and if you aren’t into digitals or just want the Acrylic stamp version we have that too!

CHALLENGES:

1) Alphabet Challenge Blog – Y for You choose – anything goes!

2) Penny’s Paper-Crafty Challenge #70 – So, in honor of “Bird Day” for this challenge we want to see your birds!! Any king of bird you want!!

So the second stamp I’m going to show you is Loving Critter’s Digital Stamp which comes in pre-colored or in outlines so you can color it yourself. This one is so fun that I ended up making 3 cards with it and would have made more but I stopped myself! The first card I showed on Sunday during the blog hop as a preview. So now I will show you the other two I made.

I found this paper in my stash and knew it was perfect for the cute pig in the blue sweater (it comes this way as a pre-colored image)! I followed the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday #135 for the design of the card.

I didn’t want this cute lamb (pre-colored) to be left out so I started to play and this is what I ended up with. Of course it was after slicing my finger open on my cutter! I do not recommend sewing after you have sliced open your index finger! My friend Stephanie surprised me with a Sew Easy for Christmas and she totally spoiled me and got me the WHOLE thing! I’m am truly spoiled! I used a card sketch from a card challenge at Scrapbook.com. I used my Cricut to cut out the letters for “Love Ewe”. The paper comes with the stamp…cute huh!?!

CHALLENGES:

1) Card Makin Mamas – We want to see either a New Year card or some thing NEW that you received recently. Let’s show off our new goodies.  The stamp is new and so is the Sew Easy I got for Christmas.

I hope you will go check out the rest of the new releases and this barely touches the cuteness that she released this month.

Thanks for stopping by.

Challenge time at Clear Dollar Stamps!!

It is time for Challenge #40 at Clearly iStamp. The challenge is Flowers — Let’s see some flowers!

This is my take on the challenge:

I decided to let my paper take care of the flower requirement and then I went with a coffee theme friendship card.

So I went into the store the other day to look for brown bags (which if you come back on Thanksgiving and Black Friday you will see why) and what did I find? The cutest paper pad!! Now understand I don’t normally buy paper pads because I was spoiled working at a store and getting to choose what I wanted to buy. Plus I think paper was thicker 6 + years ago. But this paper was soooo cute and had sooo many possibilities and I had a coupon so I HAD to get it! You understand, right?!! So the cute paper pad is the 8×8  Modern Homemaker by October Afternoon.

For playing with us you will have a chance to win a $10 gift certificate for stamps or digis or the November featured digi image. For more information on the rules go here.

** Also don’t forget to come back Sunday for our Blog Hop at Clear Dollar Stamps. You will have another chance at winning some cool prizes.
