Monthly Blog Hop at Clear Dollar Stamps

If you are just joining us head on over and start at the beginning on Lori’s Blog. If you just came from Jerusha’s blog – I Love Paper Crafting  you are in the right spot. For hopping along with us One lucky winner will receive a $25 Clear Dollar Stamps gift certificate for  digital images!   The Winner will be randomly chosen from comments received on a DT member’s blog. The winner will be announced on my Blog and the CDS blog  Thursday, May 24, 2012.

Today the challenge was “THINGS WITH WINGS”. That was super easy to do with over 25 Digital images that had something with wings in it. That is NOT including the clear acrylic stamps so their is no telling how many images Clear Dollar Stamps has to choose from for this Blog Hop.  I hope you enjoy seeing some of the stamps that Clear Dollar Stamps has to offer that have “THINGS WITH WINGS”

I chose to work with Praying Eyes Mantis Digital Image  I had a couple different ideals in my head for how I wanted to use this stamp, of course I needed my husband’s help to make it happen. Since he is a Photo Shop guru I asked him to make me a background with different size mantis all over the page. Of course when he finally figured out what I wanted he said, “you want me to make you a sheet of paper with the image!” Well, yes that is what I had in my head! So since he was so kind to take time to make it I just had to use it. Maybe I will get my other ideals done another time! Here is what I made:

The design of the card was inspired by Card Positioning Systems sketch #265. I am so happy I tried this sketch as I totally love the end results. This is a long skinny card (9 1/4 x 4) that fits in a legal size envelope.

Your next stop on the hop is Barb’s Blog – Barb’s Best Creations.

Thanks for taking a HOP around all the blogs. Hope you left comments on all the blogs as you never know which blogs the winner will be selected from. Thanks for stopping by and saying hello!

Yep, that’s right at For Fun Challenges we are challenging you to stick to these three colors : Blue, Green and Cream. Of  course you can use skin tones but try to stick to those three colors. Well, I had great intentions but my cream turned more into white.  That is what happens when you are running late and are tired.  I hope you will forgive me and come try out the challenge for yourself!

I made this card for the Card Ministry at church to give to a member that was in an accident 1 1/2 weeks ago. I hope it will cheer her up and let her know we are praying for her.

Today’s challenge at For Fun Challenge is to do a card to make someone feel better/Get Well.  I was so happy to have this as a challenge as I was out of these cards and was needing some. We also have a brand new sponsor for us and I have to say that I love her images, Dearie Dolls Digital Stamps.

This past weekend I got to play in my craft room ALL weekend long and it was so nice. And Saturday was one of those “everything goes right” craft days and it was just FUN to play and make stuff. I ended up coloring two of the stamps the sponsor sent us to play with and BOTH colored up nice. So I got out my list of challenges and started to “challenge myself” and love love love the outcome.

This card came about because of the color challenge at The Play Date Cafe. They challenged to use Burgundy, gold and plum. I got out my scraps and found colors that matched the challenge. I  colored my image, Cat Nurse from Dearie Dolls,  to match. I then used sketch #15 at Fetch a Sketch Challenge. And then I had this pretty cool looking card (at least to me!).

CHALLENGES:

1) For Fun Challenge – Get Well/Hope you feel better/Cheer up

2) Fetch a Sketch Challenge #15 – Use the sketch provided.

3) The Play Date Cafe Challenge #114 (pdcc114) – Use the colors Burgundy, Gold and Plum.

4) CAS-ual Fridays – CFC35:  Create a Clean And Simple project with scallops! This one I made the scallops out of circles.

INSIDE: Sending you Sunshine and Smiles

On this I used Dearie Dolls Birdies Daisy’s Digital Stamp. I did one with a grey bird and then did one with a brown bird. They both came out cute so I decided to make two cards.

I was trying to decide what to put on the inside of the card and when I look at this image it reminds me of Sunshine which makes me smile. So sometimes when your “blue” you just need some sunshine and smiles to cheer you up.  This card was totally inspired by Stamptacular Sketch Challenge #146 on Stamptacular Sunday Challenge. I didn’t get it done in time to submit it but it was based off that sketch. I found this perfect paper in my stash and built the card off the paper and sketch. I love love how this turned out. It was just a good craft day..

CHALLENGES:

1) For Fun Challenges – Get Well/Hope you feel better/Cheer up

2) Use your Scraps @ scrapbook.com – 85% of your project must be from scraps. Everything is scraps except for one red cardbase and the striped paper on both cards. Yes, I have 12 x 12 drawers of each color just filled with scraps. I won’t run out of paper any time soon!!

3) Totally Paper Crafts Challenge #99 – spots and stripes!

4) Penny’s Paper-Crafty Challenge #70 – So, in honor of “Bird Day” for this challenge we want to see your birds!! Any king of bird you want!!

If you want to be a Guest Designer at For Fun Challenges leave me message in the comments.

It’s Digital Release Day!

OMG! I went to bed thinking about having to get my post up this morning but totally FORGOT about it till now! That’s what happens when you don’t feel good and start on something else. So here are my samples for Clear Dollar Stamps digital release day….just a couple hours late!!

I will start out with Happy Healing Digital Stamp Set. I was soooo happy that DeeDee made this stamp as I was needing to make some Get Well Cards. I love that there are 3 different images of different kinds of hurts which makes this a MUST HAVE set.  I’m sending this one to a girl in the church.  This paper just had a hospital and Happy Get Well feel to it so I thought it was perfect.  I also have some masculine colored paper by Chatterbox so I’m going to make some up for the sick men in our lives too.

CHALLENGES:

1)

Next, I decided to take this stamp, Winter Eskimo Digital Stamp,  in the Valentine direction. I think it would make cute Christmas cards but thought they made a cute Valentine’s couple too.  Winter Eskimo stamp also comes in a clear acrylic stamp if you prefer that.

Have you ever started in one direction with a card but totally ended up taking a detour which leaves you with a completely different card then you started out making?? Well, I did. The image in my head was a cute heart shaped card. Well, that just didn’t do it for me. So in comes the background piece which the heart card is mounted on. This ended up being a little bigger than 5 x 7 so I plan on putting it in a small vanilla envelope…I think they are 6 x 8. I paper pieced the Eskimo’s with bazzill cardstock. I just printed the image out on each color and cut out the pieces I need for each color. The faces were colored in photoshop and then printed out on white cardstock to be the base image that everything else was glued onto.

There are a TON of NEW RELEASES today so make sure you stop by the blog, Clearly iStamp, to see all the stamps and inspiration from the design team. I wish I had more time this month as there a couple more I’m dying to play with.

Swimming for Katie

INSIDE OF CARD: Courage is being afraid of the water, but Swimming with all of your might Anyway!

JOIN OVER 125 TOP DESIGNERS hopping to support our friend and stamper, Katie Renz, who is currently battling gastric cancer.  Exclusive stamp & digis will be available for sale with 100% of the profits going to Katie and her family.  Direct donations are also being accepted (click the donate button here).  All stamps/digis for sale are listed HERE.

Katie’s cancer story started just before Christmas last year.  This young, beautiful, healthy, vibrant mother of 3 with her infectious smile was suddenly diagnosed with an inoperable cancer, virtually overnight.  A few tummy aches and then stage 4 gastric cancer.  Her first post about it is here.

Katie is on the Design Team with me at Clear Dollar Stamps. Since I just started I don’t know her very well but the ladies over there LOVE her sooooo much I can’t help but love her too. Trudy  made this awesome stamp set to sell and ALL of the proceeds go to Katie. I didn’t realize that periwinkle was the color for gastric cancer and that is the original color of the stamp. I changed mine to match my paper so not sure if that is politically correct but it is the standard cancer ribbon. Any way I support Katie!!
