Gifts and Decorations – Halloween Style

different ways to use one SVG file

It’s the 3rd Tuesday of the month so it was my turn to give the Tuesday Tutorial at Clear Dollar Stamps.

I’m decided to show different ways to make place cards for a party. But if you’re not having a party, they can be given as gifts! Or they can be used as both (then your guest goes home with something!) And don’t limit your imagination to Halloween because each of these can be easily used for Birthday, Christmas parties, graduation, etc…just change out the design and your ready for the next big event!

CHALLENGES:

1) Catch the Bug Challenge - Today’s Challenge is an Animal Antics.  Create a an Animal project  and post a link to it on Bugaboo Stamps‘ challenge blog, Catch the Bug,  by 10/22/11 at  6:00 AM EST to be entered a random drawing for three digi prize packs – seven (7) (using a Bugaboo image only), four (4), or two (2) using any image!

2) Stamptacular Sunday Challenge – Challenge #134 – You Choose!  For this weeks challenge you will create any card or a project that your heart desires! Anything goes! Please be creative! Try something new! Maybe even create something you’ve never made before! Oh…and don’t forget to stamp! After all, we don’t call this STAMPtacular for nothing!

All these projects were NEW to me. Never made anything like these before but I can tell you I will be making them AGAIN!! So much fun and so EASY!!

3) Creative Inspirations – Challenge #133 – Single layer card.

My place card is a single layer type of card. Also, it says they will take other projects if they fit so the toothpick decorations are a single layer. If these don’t work for your challenge just let me know and I will take it off.

4) The Pink Elephant – Challenge 121(TPE121) – “Scoring”!!   You just need to create a card/project using a “Scoring” technique. You can use either decorative scoring or scoring used to create a project (other than just a standard fold on a card!).

Well, this challenge was PERFECT! These project are all about scoring. You have to score the lines on the box so you can fold and know where to cut. And the place card is also scored. I just got my score-pal a week ago from Clear Dollar Stamps. LOVE it!! Wasn’t sure I would and almost didn’t get it. I have heard people complain about an other brand that the score tool is flimsy….NOT THIS ONE!! You have to be careful not to press to hard or you will cut through the paper. So happy I went with this brand.

An AWESOME Digital Release Day!!

All I have to say is the Stamp Designers at Clear Dollar Stamps out did themselves this month!! There were SEVERAL new releases this month and they are all ADORABLE!!

Let me start out by showing you Autumn Blessings Color Digital Stamp. When I saw the four different textures on the pumpkins I thought it would be cool to use all of them. Then I got the idea of putting them in a row like at a pumpkin patch. So I batted my eyelashes and asked hubby if he could make the image in my head become real on paper. Of course he smiled and got to work in Photoshop (he is awesome in Photoshop and stuff like that since he is a computer animator). Then I took his finished product and made this card. Which I’m very happy it turned out. The design was based on a sketch (Day 83 @ 365 Cards)  but that was influced by the scalloped graph paper. I got this paper like 3-4 years ago for Christmas or Birthday and I just opened up the package!! Feels good to use up stuff I have on hand.

CHALLENGES:

1) Stamps R Us Challenge Blog – Autumn/Fall

Digital Stamp - Autumn Blessings

Let’s head to Christmas for some inspiration. Can you belive it is just AROUND THE CORNER!!! The digital stamp I used is called Christmas Cuties. It comes in outline, colored and in tags. This next card I used the Christmas Cuties Tag Digital Stamp. Super simple and cute card. Got to love that! The design inspiration came from Cute Card Thursday Challenge 183 – Sketch.

Digital Stamp - Christmas Cuties Tag

The next card I used the Snowman from the Christmas Cuties Outline Digital Stamps. I colored him in photoshop and cut him out. This card will be one that is made in the Card Class I give at church to raise money for the Card Ministry.

I have a ton of Halloween paper and I was so happy to use some up. That just means I can start buying it again….I have to re-stock my stash!!

CHALLENGES:

1) Paper Playtime – Challenge #57- Use the cricut, black orange and purple. I did this card with this challenge in mind and then didn’t get it posted in time! Oh well thanks for the inspiration. I cute the circle and jagged circle out on the cricut. I used SVG files from Clear Dollar Stamps.

Oh you have to see the WHOLE set, Sweet and Spicy. Totally cute and can be used in so many different ways. I was so glad DeeDee had a plain apple in there as that can be used for several different types of cards. Then she goes and puts these super sweet sentiment in there and I was sold on having to make it!! And it was perfect for the “Friendship” challenge at Stamps R Us.

CHALLENGES:

2) Card of the Week @ www.scrapbook.com -  A Tri-fold card was the card to try to make for the week of Sept 4th. She doesn’t care when you get it done as long as you try new card styles and have fun!

Clear Dollar Stamps - Autumn Friends Colored Image

This is the Autumn Friends Colored Digital stamp that was released TODAY! I decided to make a treat bucket and tag instead of a card with this image. Super easy to do. I printed out the image. Ran it through my xyron sticker maker. Add a little extra double sided tape on the edges since it is on a curved image. Rubber band it together for a day or so and there you have a cute little bucket. Oh and the bucket was $1 at TARGET. Got to love that!

I made a couple extras using the Bitty Bat Pumpkin Colored Digital Stamp.
