Freedom

This card was made just for fun!! Haven’t had time to do that in a long time so it was very nice. The challenge at 365 Cards was “Freedom.” While going through some paper last night I found this piece in my scrap drawer and thought it would be perfect. Then when trying to decide what I was going to do I thought the sketch for April Card Challenge was perfect. And that is how this card was made. Thanks for looking.

1) Day 36 @ 365Cards – Freedom. Such a great word, and it means different things to everyone, so we’d like to see what it means to you.

2) April Card Challenge on sb.com – Sketch category. Use the sketch provided as inspiration.

Patterned Paper – unknown from scrap drawer

Thank you to ALL military and their families…

Friday, 11/11/11, is Veterans Day in the United States so at For Fun Challenges we wanted to show our gratitude to anyone who has or is in the military and their family. I loved learning about where the girls on the design team live and how they do things different in their country. I assumed every military had a way to get cards while being away from their loved ones but that isn’t the case. One of the DT members, Sally, lives in the United Kingdom and I was able to find this link http://www.supportoursoldiers.co.uk/   and Sally was able to find this link http://www.britishlegion.org.uk/ It seems close to what we have in the United States with Operation Write Home. If you would like to send a thank you card (which are called Any Hero Mail) to an American Soldier here is a link to give you information on that http://operationwritehome.org/anyhero.html  That is what I will be doing with my Thank You card and encourage you to do the same. Please look over all the links on the Operation Write Home blog as there are guidelines on what to send (NO GLITTER) and how to send it.

We did not have a sponsor this week as we wanted you to get out your paper and look through your stamps to see what you had that could be made into a thank you card for an ANY HERO card!

And here is the card I was inspired to make:

CHALLENGES:

1) Cute Card Thursday – Challenge 167 – Embellish it!!  This week we want to see your cards that have had the main image embellished. It can be whatever you like….glossy accents, glitters, papers, ribbons, gems….your choice!

Not sure it making it 3d is considered embellished but thought it was since it wasn’t just a flat design anymore. The mane, tail, hoofs and grass are all cut from another printout and than pop dotted on this image.

2) Sweet Sketch Wednesday – Sketch #104

3) Stampin’ Sisters in Christ – Challenge #92 - Challenge: Use something new on your project – it can be a new product, technique, embellishment – even a colour combo that is new for you – show us what you got!!

The sketch is new to me. The image is new….just released on Friday at www.cleardollarstamps.com

SUPPLIES:

Stamps/Images: Patriotic Charlie (digital image)  at www.cleardollarstamps.com

Cardstock/Papers: Bazzill

Inks/Markers: Canon inkjet printer

Day 7 @ 365Cards.blogspot.com

I love that word “Fierce”, especially if we’re talking about something fashionable or cool.  Of course, it can also be used to describe an animal or something bad.  So that’s the inspirational word for today’s challenge.

One of the most Fierce things I know is an American Soldier. Thank you to all the service men and women!

Card is 5 1/4 x 5 1/4

Supplies:
Pattern Paper – www.rmscrapbook.com
Blue crackle paper – can’t remember who made it as it was a scrap in my drawer
Red Cardstock – Bazzill
White Card base – Bazzill
Brads – Hobby Lobby
