Happy Father's Day

1) Stamping Scrapping Challenge 5/23/11 – Masculine Theme.  Here is a Father’s Day Card I made with the new Lifting You Up digital stamps at Clear Dollar Stamps.

2) Penny’s Paper Challenge #54 -So, now on to the new Challenge. This time around the theme is “Here Comes Summer”.  What a perfect time of year to go riding in a hot air balloon!!

Details on Card:

The Hot Air Balloon is a digital stamp that I printed out four times. One on each color of cardstock. Then I cut out each piece and assembled it together. I used black floss to make the ropes that connect the basket to the balloon. Before I decided on the twine I couldn’t figure out what to put there even though I knew it was missing something. My friend Stephanie was over and after looking through my store (I mean stash) she handed me the twine and said use this! It was perfect. I’m so glad she was there crafting with me! Thanks Stephanie!

Today is Clear Dollar Stamps (CDS) May release of some very adorable SVG and PDF files.

If you are new to the digital file world, here is a quick explanation:

You buy them from the store.

You recieve a download link in your order confirmation email.

You follow this link and download the image to your computer and save (to use as many times as you want…but for YOUR use only, please!)

If you have a cutting machine that you can pull SVG files into such as Klic-N-Kut, Pazzles Inspiration, BossKut Gazelle, Black Cat Cougar/Lynx, US Cutter MH/LaserPoint, CraftWell’s eCraft, then these files are for you!

Cricut users:  There is a program that is explained here that you can buy to use with your Cricut machine.  However, if you wish to obtain this program, you will want to do it quickly.  Provocraft is trying to make them take it off the market.  Just so you know!  I never used my Cricut until I bought this program….then it was true love!

If you have no cutting machine, and would like to cut them by hand, you print out the PDF files on your computer and cut, cut, cut!  Perfect for class projects!

There is a fishing bag, Chest Card (Treasure Chest, Tool Box, Recipe Card), and Card Cuts. Then they are two images that are made to go with CDS – Cruisin’ Classic and Motorcycle Mania

Here are some samples I made using the May Card Cut file!

Clear Dollar Stamps May 2011 Digital Stamp Release

Today is a big day for me!Clear Dollar Stamps is releasing new digital images today and I’m announced as the newest member of the Digital Design Team at Clear Dollar Stamps! I am honored and excited to have this opportunity to work with a Christian company and the wonderful ladies involved with C.D.S.  They have been so supportive as I figure out the digital stamp world and the in’s/out’s of a design team. Thanks ladies for answering ALL my questions and making me feel part of the team. Okay enough mushy stuff on with the awesome new digital stamps that are RELEASED today, May 16, 2011.

May 2011 Digital Stamp Release - Hydrangea

I chose to showcase the Hydrangea digital set . This is the perfect stamp that can be made for several occasions or just an every day “hello” card. My new friend, Stephanie, inspired this card so I gave to her as a thank you.  Water coloring with markers is still new to me and Stephanie was wonderful with giving me tips and encouragement. She also loves gingham paper so when I saw the purple gingham paper it reminded me of her! Thanks Steph for being a great friend. (Sheesh, back to the mushy stuff!!) The supplies are listed at the end of the post.
There were so many cute designs released today am sure you WILL be seeing me playing with several of them BUT I couldn’t wait and had to play with one more image….Biggest Wishes.

May 2011 Digital Stamp Release - Biggest Wishes

I love that she made this into a digital stamp so that I can re-size it to fit my card. But if you like traditional stamps hurry over to the store because this clear rubber stamp is getting ready to retire and is 50% off. The cake was colored then cut out. I then pop dotted it on the image with the mouse to give it a 3-d look. I love how this turned out even though it took several practice runs to get every element just right!! My inspiration for the design came from a past CIC Challenge #24.

The theme this month was “Let’s hear it for the boys!” I am like most and don’t have a lot of masculine cards in comparison to all the “girly” cards I make.  But I must say you need to check out the new digital stamps that are being released TOMORROW at Clear Dollar Stamps. There is some great designs that can be used for masculine cards and projects. I was so excited to use them that my original card for today was made with one of the awesome stamps till I remembered that they weren’t going to be released till tomorrow! That was okay though because I have been wanting to use this cute porcupine for awhile now and this was just the inspiration I needed. Hope you will find lots of inspiration as your visit each blog….I know I do!

Happy Mother's Day

Hehehehee, totally forgot to post this. I made this card for a friend, Bryan, that is staying with us. I was honored that he wanted me and trusted me to make a card for his mom. I asked him what he wanted and he came up with the basic design and quilt feel to the card. I picked the paper and brads and he approved! I was going to use my sewing machine but the bobbin went empty and I can’t remember how to do it again! So I opted to hand sew it. His mom liked the card so I guess that is all that matters.

Bucket of flowers

Design2Delight and Clear Dollar Stamps

1) Design2Delight – Free Stamp of the month Challenge – Want some FREE digi stamps? Play along this week with Design2Delight and you will get a new freebie next week via email. If you missed getting this stamp for free, you can purchase it in her digital stamps shop and play along to receive the next freebies.

I paper pieced part of this. I printed the digital stamp out on the turquoise polka dot paper and cut it out. Then printed the image on watercolor paper as the base of my paper piecing. I painted several flowers till I was able to cut out the ones to pop dot them over the original stamp. I love how this turned out and has paper and water coloring elements.

2) GAB Challenge #14 – Use the color combo below. It says Turquoise and that is what I used but I have such a hard time with this color because I tend to go more blue then green. But the name of the paper had turquoise in it!

I didn’t have that exact green for my leaves and grass but I tried to mix different greens together. Hope it counts!

3) Amber’s Crafts and Stuff – Challenge #8 Special Lady – Make anything you want with a Special Lady in mind. This could be a Mother’s day card, a gift for a special lady in your life,

– I will end up giving this card to a friend or selling it so someone else can give it to a special lady in their life!
