Day 240 @ 365Cards

Day 240 @ 365Cards

One of the guys at church put an order in for 4 birthday cards for his family that he is going to see this week. He needed one for his son-in-law who loves music. So this is what I came up with. He seemed to like it when he saw it today and new right away who I had made it for.

1) Day 240 @ – Negative space. Follow the sketch and keep as much negative space as possible.

The red square with the “happy birthday” is actually on the inside. I cut out a window on the cover of the card so the sentiment shows through.

Today at For Fun Challenges the Design Team are bringing you the scarier side of Halloween. I have not worked with “non cutesy” images so this was a CHALLENGE for sure!! Our challenge this week is sponsored by Rick St. Dennis.

The winner will be provided with the images you see the DT playing with this week. The challenge at For Fun Challenges is a SIMPLE one – Halloween….anything goes (but NO fall)!! Have you made your sweetie a Halloween Card? Now is the time!

If you would like to be a Guest Designer at For Fun Challenges please email us at For Fun Challenges no spaces please.

Clearly Inspired Challenge #38 (CIC38)

This is one of the cards that will be taught at the Card Class at Church. For the inside of the card they will have a choice of the following two sentiments that come with the stamp.

You’re such a Sweetie Pie!

Thanks for being so Sweet!

This is also my sample for the Clearly Inspired Challenge #38 at the Clear Dollar Stamps Blog. The challenge is to use PINK since it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It DOES NOT have to be related to that but DOES have to have LOTS of PINK!! Hope you will join in on the fun!

I want to say THANKS to CASSIE for such an awesome idea… turn the pie into a STRAWBERRY PIE!! See, this is the October Featured Digital Stamp called Pumpkin Pie! Which is gorgeous as a pumpkin pie. When she told us the challenge was PINK I told her that it would be tough to do with a Pumpkin Pie with pink! She said without blinking an eye….turn it into a Strawberry Creme Pie!! Well, DUH!! So once again batted my eyelashes at my husband and he got to work in photoshop for me! (I sure do love him!)

It’s good to spice things up and do things different once in awhile!!

And since Bugaboo is the sponsor this week the winner will get 7 free bugaboo images!! So get to thinkin’ and let’s see what you can come up with BUT remember NO ORANGE, BLACK or PURPLE!!

Gifts and Decorations – Halloween Style

different ways to use one SVG file

It’s the 3rd Tuesday of the month so it was my turn to give the Tuesday Tutorial at Clear Dollar Stamps.

I’m decided to show different ways to make place cards for a party. But if you’re not having a party, they can be given as gifts! Or they can be used as both (then your guest goes home with something!) And don’t limit your imagination to Halloween because each of these can be easily used for Birthday, Christmas parties, graduation, etc…just change out the design and your ready for the next big event!

1) Catch the Bug Challenge Today’s Challenge is an Animal Antics.  Create a an Animal project  and post a link to it on Bugaboo Stamps‘ challenge blog, Catch the Bug,  by 10/22/11 at  6:00 AM EST to be entered a random drawing for three digi prize packs – seven (7) (using a Bugaboo image only), four (4), or two (2) using any image!

2) Stamptacular Sunday Challenge – Challenge #134 – You Choose!  For this weeks challenge you will create any card or a project that your heart desires! Anything goes! Please be creative! Try something new! Maybe even create something you’ve never made before! Oh…and don’t forget to stamp! After all, we don’t call this STAMPtacular for nothing!

All these projects were NEW to me. Never made anything like these before but I can tell you I will be making them AGAIN!! So much fun and so EASY!!

3) Creative Inspirations – Challenge #133 – Single layer card.

My place card is a single layer type of card. Also, it says they will take other projects if they fit so the toothpick decorations are a single layer. If these don’t work for your challenge just let me know and I will take it off.

4) The Pink Elephant – Challenge 121(TPE121) – “Scoring”!!   You just need to create a card/project using a “Scoring” technique. You can use either decorative scoring or scoring used to create a project (other than just a standard fold on a card!).

Well, this challenge was PERFECT! These project are all about scoring. You have to score the lines on the box so you can fold and know where to cut. And the place card is also scored. I just got my score-pal a week ago from Clear Dollar Stamps. LOVE it!! Wasn’t sure I would and almost didn’t get it. I have heard people complain about an other brand that the score tool is flimsy….NOT THIS ONE!! You have to be careful not to press to hard or you will cut through the paper. So happy I went with this brand.

An AWESOME Digital Release Day!!

All I have to say is the Stamp Designers at Clear Dollar Stamps out did themselves this month!! There were SEVERAL new releases this month and they are all ADORABLE!!

Let me start out by showing you Autumn Blessings Color Digital Stamp. When I saw the four different textures on the pumpkins I thought it would be cool to use all of them. Then I got the idea of putting them in a row like at a pumpkin patch. So I batted my eyelashes and asked hubby if he could make the image in my head become real on paper. Of course he smiled and got to work in Photoshop (he is awesome in Photoshop and stuff like that since he is a computer animator). Then I took his finished product and made this card. Which I’m very happy it turned out. The design was based on a sketch (Day 83 @ 365 Cards)  but that was influced by the scalloped graph paper. I got this paper like 3-4 years ago for Christmas or Birthday and I just opened up the package!! Feels good to use up stuff I have on hand.

1) Stamps R Us Challenge Blog – Autumn/Fall

Digital Stamp - Autumn Blessings

This next card I used the Christmas Cuties Tag Digital Stamp. Super simple and cute card. Got to love that! The design inspiration came from Cute Card Thursday Challenge 183 – Sketch.

The next card I used the Snowman from the Christmas Cuties Outline Digital Stamps. I colored him in photoshop and cut him out. This card will be one that is made in the Card Class I give at church to raise money for the Card Ministry.
