Welcome in the New Year with a “Something New” card!

This week at For Fun Challenges we are bringing in the New Year by celebrating it with a “Something New” Challenge. Create a project that would be for something new (new house, new baby, new life together, etc.) This challenge will run for TWO WEEKS (you have till Jan 10th)  so there is plenty of time to create. The challenge is sponsored by Bugaboo Digi Stamps and the winner of a random drawing will win 7 images from Bugaboo!! It was so easy to create with this cute elephant stamp by Bugaboo Digital Stamps.  I spent half of Monday cleaning up my scrap room as it looked horrible from all the Christmas cards and projects. Totally forgot about doing my card for this challenge. Thank goodness I remembered late Monday night and was able to get it turned in on time! That was a close one. I decided to paper piece the stamp by printing it out on each color then cutting out the pieces I needed from that colored paper. Now to find time to make a girl one!

Thanks for looking and hope you will be able to play along with us.

CHALLENGES:

1) Tuesday Morning Sketches #125 – I didn’t get it done in time for the challenge but this card was inspired from their sketch.

THEME:  “WHITE AS SNOW”

Linda has a special way of picking the best challenges for the blog hop. I love how it can be taken in any way that you are inspired. This card’s design was actually one I did for the card class at my church this month. I had cut out some trees from a patterned paper and had several small trees left over. Then knowing that the blog hop was WHITE AS SNOW I decided to go with a white theme. So that is how this card was inspired and designed. I then decided True’s digital stamp Paper Christmas Trees would be perfect for this. I used the pre-colored trees in the top two cards. The red card is the outline images printed on patterned paper then cut out. I love when one set of stamps can be used in several ways!! Now that is economical!! The colored cardstock under the snowflake punch is actually on the inside of the card and just shows through when the card is closed. I took the snowflakes that were left over from the punch and scattered them on the card for falling snow. Add a little stickles to give it that Christmas sparkle! The sentiment on the front and inside of the card where printed from my computer before I decorated the card. Hope you enjoyed my version of  WHITE AS SNOW!!

Your next stop on the hop is Shell’s Blog.

Thanks for taking a HOP around all the blogs. Hope you left comments on all the blogs as you never know which blogs the winner will be selected from. Thanks for stopping by and saying hello!

It’s Digital Release Day!

OMG! I went to bed thinking about having to get my post up this morning but totally FORGOT about it till now! That’s what happens when you don’t feel good and start on something else. So here are my samples for Clear Dollar Stamps digital release day….just a couple hours late!!

I will start out with Happy Healing Digital Stamp Set. I was soooo happy that DeeDee made this stamp as I was needing to make some Get Well Cards. I love that there are 3 different images of different kinds of hurts which makes this a MUST HAVE set.  I’m sending this one to a girl in the church.  This paper just had a hospital and Happy Get Well feel to it so I thought it was perfect.  I also have some masculine colored paper by Chatterbox so I’m going to make some up for the sick men in our lives too.

CHALLENGES:

1)

Next, I decided to take this stamp, Winter Eskimo Digital Stamp,  in the Valentine direction. I think it would make cute Christmas cards but thought they made a cute Valentine’s couple too.  Winter Eskimo stamp also comes in a clear acrylic stamp if you prefer that.

Have you ever started in one direction with a card but totally ended up taking a detour which leaves you with a completely different card then you started out making?? Well, I did. The image in my head was a cute heart shaped card. Well, that just didn’t do it for me. So in comes the background piece which the heart card is mounted on. This ended up being a little bigger than 5 x 7 so I plan on putting it in a small vanilla envelope…I think they are 6 x 8. I paper pieced the Eskimo’s with bazzill cardstock. I just printed the image out on each color and cut out the pieces I need for each color. The faces were colored in photoshop and then printed out on white cardstock to be the base image that everything else was glued onto.

There are a TON of NEW RELEASES today so make sure you stop by the blog, Clearly iStamp, to see all the stamps and inspiration from the design team. I wish I had more time this month as there a couple more I’m dying to play with.
