Leap Year Birthday Wishes!!

Today at For Fun Challenges we are wishing all Leap Year baby’s a “Happy Birthday”. It would be a blessing and a curse to be born on that day…when your young it would suck that you don’t get to celebrate your birthday every year….but that is a blessing when you are older cause it takes 4x as long to age!!

We have a sponsor this week which is KnK Designs!

I’m a dog lover so I totally fell in love with all her stamps! I wanted to use one of the dog images but my step-niece is turning 1 in a week so I decided the Birthday Bear would be perfect for her. Time is very valuable at the moment so if I can I try to make things that I need. Plus it also makes me get out of my comfort zone and do something I wouldn’t normally do.  So please check out her stamps as they are cute and reasonable priced.

THEME: “What’s Black and White and Red all Over?”

A bible of course!!

I love how we are given the freedom to interpret the challenges however we are inspired by it. Mine came from the joke with the answer being a “newspaper.” We didn’t have a newspaper stamp so I decided a bible worked too. To do the bible I printed out a color version and a outline version. In the outline version I colored the bible black. Then I cut out the pages and bookmark from the colored version and glued it on my black base. Then I cut out the entire bible and placed it on red cardstock. The cross is a brad from Clear Dollar Stamps.

The design for the card came from My Favorite Things sketch #46 This is an older sketch but it was perfect for this. I changed it up a little but LOVE IT!! Thanks for the inspiration.

Your next stop on the hop is Jerusha – I love Paper Crafting.

First of all I want to say thanks to Tameko for the inspiration on this card. I have had a busy week…heck busy year so far. I was teaching a card class at church this past Friday and come Friday morning I only had one card done. When I saw Tameko’s card I knew it was perfect because my friend Stephanie left her Bold Butterfly stamps at my house. Now I think I’m going to have to get them!! 🙂 So Friday morning I went to the local scrap store and found this beautiful paper….paper just makes me happy!! I was looking for paper with blue, yellow, white, brown in it for a couple challenges that I wanted to play in. I’m so glad I was looking for those colors cause this paper rocks the card!

that would be me!!

Just kidding! Talking about the shape of a card for the Clearly Inspired Challenge #46

Make a card in ANY shape except for square and rectangle!

I did an odd shape rectangle card. I used my WONDERFUL Cricut cartridge – Elegant Edges to make the shape of the card. I cut the shape out of the patterned paper and glued it on a 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 square card. Then I cut the cardstock underneath to the same shape. This whole card was completely designed around the shape of the card. I even got to play with a die shape from Clear Dollar StampsDesigner Label Dies – Set of 3. I then used the stamp set that goes with the Designer Label Dies – Designer Label Additions Clear Acrylic Stamps. The sentiment was done on my computer and is from River Glorious Digital Stamp. Then I finished it off with pearls and the pre-colored digital stamp – Floral Cross. I love how it turned out. Oh, I picked manly colors because I’m going to send this to a man at church who lost his father. Thanks for looking at my creation today!

Another fun day of new releases from Clear Dollar Stamps. I was able to play with three of the new images and it was a blast.

The first image I played with Charlie Daisy Digital Stamp. I used the pre-colored stamp and digital papers that are included with the stamp.

CHALLENGE:

1) Card Positioning Systems – CPS 5th Anniversary Day 10. Use the sketch provided.

2) Alphabet Challenge BlogA for Animal Antics

The second image I played with was You’re Eggstraordinary. This comes with pre-colored images and outline images. I decided to play with a pre-colored iamge and digital papers that come with the stamp. I used stickles on the pre-colored image.

The last image I played with was Pray Without Ceasing. I paper pieced the image together by printing out the image on different colors of cardstock then cutting them out.
