Christmas Cards for Sons

A lady at the retirement home asked for 2 cards for her sons. She requested Poinsettias and this is what I came up with. She loved them!! She picked out this verse and wanted it in both cards.

This card was inspired by the Sketch Category on the November Card Challenge @ The flowers were the perfect size for the sketch.

6) Day 331 @ 365 Cards – Thankful

I then got to play with Mustache SVG file. There is also a digital image Mustache Mish Mash if you would rather have it as an image.  I saw the hat/heart/mustache ideal on the internet and liked it. Then I saw the saying on a different site and liked it. So I decided to combine the two into my own unique card! I used the Try Stampin’ on Tuesday Sketch #145 as my inspiration.

Mustache - love you

Thanksgiving card for a Secret Pal

Thanksgiving Secret Pal

This card was inspired by the November Card Challenge I’m hosting on and the fact that I needed to make a lady a Happy Thanksgiving card for her Secret Pal. The Card Challenge has different categories and one of them is a Color category. The colors for November were Orange, Brown and Green so I was super excited to find this image, Autumn Critters, at Doodle Pantry. When I saw the sketch at Sketch Saturday #284 I thought it was perfect….I just turned it vertical.

1) Crafty Creations Challenge #249 – Ready for the Holidays- American Thanksgiving or Christmas

Little help from my friends

help from my friends – Nov Card Challenge – Theme Category – Make the sentiment the focus of your card.

I had made a card a couple years ago using this sentiment but I guess I never took a picture of it. A friend at work wanted a card with this sentiment so this is what I came up with.

Sweet and simple Merry Deer

Merry Deer

I have been wanting to use this image for a very long time but my coloring skills are not that great. So I was super excited when she re-released (was a Clearly Digital Stamp) Merry Deer in a Color version! I only had time to make the gold version of this card but I hope to try this layout with the purple and teal versions also included in the digital stamp.

Doodle Pantry is sponsoring Fab ‘n’ Funky Challenge #194 – Anything Goes. Fab ‘n’ Funky is celebrating their 4th birthday so come over and play along!! Lots of prizes by different sponsors being offered.  Since the challenge was anything goes I looked at other current challenges out there to see what could inspire my card. I am not a CAS (clean and simple) kind of girl but I was intrigued by the recipe challenge at 52 {Christmas} Card Challenge which is a recipe. Now I didn’t end up following it because I just had to have more than one layer and I liked pearls better than sparkle but I kept it in mind when I started figuring out my card. Since I was trying to do the recipe I found a CAS sketch that I thought would work so I used CAS(E) this Sketch #54 as my inspiration.

I then used the other challenges below to inspire my card.

Don’t forget Doodle Pantry is still doing a fundraiser for Operation Write Home!! You still have until the end of November to grab the bundle of stamps for $5.00, we’ve already raised $339.00! Let’s make $400….we can do it!!!

Nothing but Harley Davidson

As I was making a Harley Davidson Birthday card for a lady at work to give to her dad I realized I didn’t post the Harley Davidson inspired cards I made last Father’s Day. So I’m going to post all 3 today!

Here is the one for his Birthday this week:

Harley Davidson Patch

Just have to love the internet! I found this image on a vest so I printed it out and cut it out! Hope she likes it. Her dad is in his 70’s and still rides his Harley!

Sketch: Seems a Little Sketchy #52

Embossing Folders: Bricks – The Paper Studio, LifeStyle Crafts

Okay these are the ones made in June 2013:

She picked the 2nd one for his Father’s Day Card.  Again these are images of a Harley on the internet! This bike was similar to his so that is why she asked me to use this image.

Missing you this Holiday Season

Holiday Season Miss You

I needed to make some cards but have been so busy that finding inspiration and time to create at the same time has been hard. As I was wondering through blog land looking at challenges I was inspired by this saying, “I miss you this holiday season” that I saw on a card. I was also inspired by 2 Sisters Challenge – Christmas Card NOT using a Christmas Image because I thought this image would be perfect with that saying. This image comes from With Love Digital Image by Doodle Pantry. She made TWO sets of images this month to help raise money for OWH and you can get BOTH sets for only $5.00 from now till Nov 30th!! So don’t delay follow the link and snag up these adorable images before the introductory price goes away!

1) 2 Sisters Challenge #170 – Christmas Card NOT using a Christmas Image.  I hope this counts since a penguin is a winter image BUT it was in a Valentine/Miss you set not a Christmas set.

2) Christmas Stampin’ all Year Long – Stripes

3) Perfect Sentiments Challenge #100 – A Christmas Sketch – use the sketch provided to make a Christmas Card

4) Penny’s Paper-Crafty Challenge #153 – Add a Sentiment

Cute Images to help raise money for OWH

Doodle Pantry is sponsoring OWH and also raising money for OWH at the same time!!  Laurie created 2 sets just for OWH that would be cute for Miss You cards. OWH is ALWAYS in need of these type of cards….cards that soldiers can send home to just let their loved ones know they are thinking of them. You don’t have to make OWH cards with these images but they would love if you did!

Both sets bundled together for $5.00 and OWH will get about 70% of the profits from each sale during Nov 10-30.

On Dec 1, the sets will be separated and priced individually.  They will continue to fundraise for OWH, but at a different rate after Dec 1.

I made a card with the ice cream from the the Miss You Set! But check out Doodle Pantry Blog for inspiration from the team….you will be WOWED!! I also used the sketch from the OWH Challenge.

I loved this saying because I will tell my husband that I love him more than Ice Cream or Chocolate or Pepsi…which all rank pretty high on my list! I used glossy accents on the ice cream to make it look wet like real ice cream. The cherry and whip cream are pop dotted to give them dimension. And yes I used fibers from like 10 years ago!! Goes to show you just never know what you will find in your stash!!

Hope you will come play in the OWH challenge BUT better yet I hope you support OWH by buying the 2 stamp sets for $5.00….what a bargain!! You can also come play in the Doodle Pantry Challenge #40 if you haven’t already. If you use a Doodle Pantry image in the DP40 challenge then you will get Snowman Pile Up Digital Image for FREE!!!

TallTrio Baby Elephant

I needed a baby card for a surprise baby shower we just had for one of my co-workers. Her theme was Animals so it was perfect for the challenge at Digi Sketch Challenge which is ANIMALS! I chose to use the Tall Trio Digital Image that was just re-released this month (it was previously sold at CDS).

I used the Mojo Monday Sketch #225. You can’t see it very well but the elephant is pop dotted on top of the elephant image printed on the white block.  I ran the blue and green rectangles through an embossing folder. It looked more “babyish” to me with the dots on the cardstock.

Guest designer at Doodle Pantry!!

I’m so excited! Laurie was so sweet and asked me to be a Guest DT member for the month of November!! What a wonderful honor to be able to create with her beautiful images. If you have never played in her month long challenge YOU NEED TO!! You will get a FREE Digital Stamp if you use a Doodle Pantry image. This month the FREE Image for playing along with a Doodle Pantry image is Snowman Pile Up  (see below) The challenge will start at noon at the Doodle Pantry Blog so make sure to come back and check it out!

Can you believe you can get this image FREE just for playing along in a challenge and using a Doodle Pantry image. Which if you don’t have one there are SUPER DUPER (yes, that is a word) FREE ones on the FREE Page at the store.

And speaking of FREE there will be THREE FREE Previously sold at CDS Images – Choo Choo, Triple Chicks and Candy Apple. And then Three FREE with Purchase images – Floral Jug, Spring Violets and Sweet Stuff. And a brand NEW RELEASE, Vintage Fan, will be free with purchase until Nov 24th so hurry over to the store and pick it up with a few other creations!

So I’m sure you are just dying to see what images I got to play with so far this month. I picked two for release day but I have plenty of ideals in my head so there is no telling how many I will get done this month. I first played with Sitting Peacock image which is an older outline image that she has now added color to it and a NEW image of the peacock.

I made the first card and wasn’t sure it showed it off as well as I wanted so I made card #2 also. So hopefully you can truly see how beautiful and versatile this image is to work with!

By the way if you want a perfect match on the cardstock she provides solid colors along with the patterned paper. So I printed it off on Bazzill white and had perfectly matching bazzill color paper! LOVE IT!!
