I was sweating it!

Today is the last day to make a project with the February Stamp of the Month at From the Heart Stamps (FTHS) and I just got it done! This month hasn’t allowed for much crafting and now I’m sick with a cold. Some people can craft when they are sick…I’m not one of them. My creative juices are plugged up with sinus crap at the moment so I’m surprised I was able to get this done. I’m happy with it for now we will see when I feel better if I still like it! I made it with one of my Best Friends in mind that has a birthday in April. Her favorite color combo is yellow and dark blue so that is what I used.

Don't Sweat it

Inside Card: … you still look like a Spring Chick!

This stamp, Birthday Candle Birdbrain, comes with a ton of sentiments! I was having a hard time people which one to use! I colored the bird in photoshop (have a hard time with yellow when I do watercolors) the rest I did with Tombow markers.

I used Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #208 as my inspiration. Instead of the second block on the bottom I did a long skinny one to hold my sentiment. I also offset the image from the blue mat.

CHALLENGES:

1) February Stamp of the Month Challenge @ From the Heart Stamps – Use the image provided and get next months Monthly image free!

2) Simply Create Too Challenge #56 – Shop in your Stash! I so need this challenge….about a 100 times! Everything is from my scrap drawer too! I even had the yellow embossed piece in there! Nothing new on this card!

4) March Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – Product Category – Fiber/Thread (no ribbon)…I’m hoping floss is okay!

Doggy mail Valentine

One of the guys at work is like us and only has a fur baby and our dog people. So I like making cards for him to give to his wife that are dog related. When I saw this stamp – Puppy Love – Envelope at Bugaboo I knew it would be perfect! Plus it is on sale right now so I totally SCORED! I paper pieced it with cardstock but I think I might try to color this one some time.  Okay does anyone even remember this paper or paper company?? Man I have some serious paper stash!! The watermark says 2005….just 9 years old!!

I made one similar to this 2 years ago that a guy at work saw and wanted one for his mom. So I changed it up a little but used the same papers and colors. Instead of coloring in the image with markers I colored it in Photoshop. Nothing fancy as I haven’t figured out how to do that but I can use the paint bucket pretty good!!  I used Tuesday Morning Sketches #234 as my inspiration.

CHALLENGES:

1) Meljen’s Designs Challenge #196 – I {heart} you – use hearts on your project.

2) Simply Create Too Challenge #54 – Mothers Day or for a female. This is for his mom.

3) The Pink Elephant Challenge #237 (TPE237) – Happy Valentine’s Day

4) February Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – Favorites category – had this sketch saved in my sketch book – Tuesday Morning Sketches #234

SUPPLIES:

Stamps/Images: Puppy Love Frame from Meljen’s Designs

Cardstock/Papers: Cardstock – Bazzill (Black, Parakeet), Patterned Paper – Scenic Route

Accents/Tools: gems, pop dots, EK Success heart border punch,
