Thankful for my neighbor’s garden

Vegetable Thank You

I am very blessed to have great neighbors that are also my friends. I am also very thankful that they like to garden and then share it with us. We are very spoiled with fresh lettuce, cucumbers, zucchini, garlic, strawberries and much more. So each year I try to get them a gift card to buy more supplies and say Thank You. This is a little late but I still think they will know how thankful we were for the fresh food from the garden last season.

I used this weeks sketch at Outlawz Sketch Challenge. Deedee’s Digis is sponsoring the challenge so if you play you will have a chance to win a $10.00 gift code to the store. I used Bigelow’s Bounty as I thought it was perfect and cute all at the same time! If you think this image would be perfect for some cards you need to make stop over at Deedee’s Digis by Dec. 1st as she is having a 50% off every set sale as a Thank You to the customers!

PuppyChristmas

A co-worker has a brown lab and that is his and his wife’s “child”. So he likes to give her Christmas cards and Mother’s Day cards from him and the pup so I have a standing order. So I was smiling from ear to ear when Deedee’s Digis released Puppy’s Christmas.  Then when I saw the sketch at Outlawz Challenge I knew it would be perfect!

Dashing Penguins

These penguins are just having too much fun playing in the snow together! I love how fun this image is.

Deedee’s Digis is sponsoring Penny’s Paper-Crafty Challenge this week and the challenge is Use Black Cardstock. Now I have no problem using black cardstock but I guess when you TELL me to use it my creativity goes out the window. I kept coming up with ideals for stamps but none of them would use black cardstock. So I looked through the Christmas stamps and picked out a few I thought would work. Then started looking at sketches and sketch #4 in the November Card Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com made me think of snowbanks and the flower could be a snowflake…..and that is how this card was made!

The Glory of Christmas

Diane’s Daydream Designs is sponsoring Penny’s Paper-Crafty Challenge this week and the challenge is Use Black Cardstock. This card took some work even though it is a Clean & Simple (CAS) card. Funny how the more simple cards take the most work. What I had in mind did not work out so I flipped the paper over to this word print design. Which I thought would be too busy but I ended up liking it! I kept trying to stick a star on here but my best friend would not give in and kept telling me NO (in a nice way). Then I asked my husband and he agreed with her so no star! I think it is simple and to the point…Christmas is about Christ the Lord!

I’m sure you have black cardstock lying around so come play with us!

CHALLENGES:

1) Crafty Hazelnut’s Christmas Challenge #202 – Keep it flat. I put enamel dots on there but they aren’t as thick as a brad so I think it will mail with no extra postage.

2) Christmas Card Challenge #50 – Faith based.

3) Christmas Stampin’ All Year Long Challenge #36 (CSAYL) – Anything Goes

4) Crimbo Crackers Challenge #69 – Clean & Simple (CAS)

5) My Perfect Life – Festive 48 Challenge – Week 44 – make one Christmas card a week all year long!

Cardstock: Bazzill

Patterned Paper: MME (Christmas 6 x 6 paper pad)

Giving Thanks at Crafting By Designs

Owl Thanksgiving-email

Diane’s Daydream Designs is sponsoring Crafting by Designs this week and the challenge is Giving Thanks. I decided to make a Thanksgiving card. This is the card we made at the retirement home for part of our craft project. The ladies just loved this image and so do I! I embossed a smaller piece of brown the same color of the base to give it some texture and design to it. I kept it a flat card since it is easier for them to mail it that way.

The 2nd item we did for our craft was this cute Scarecrow I found on the internet. I used scrap paper I had on hand to make a variety of hats in different colors and patterns.
