I had an order for a 23rd Wedding Anniversary card that was in December. The card was for her daughter and at the wedding they used her grandmother’s crystal/gold glasses for the toast….so that was my inspiration for the card.

Poinsettia Christmas

poinsettia-christmas

So there are two ladies at the retirement home that like special cards made for their kids (one has son and family and one has daughter and family). One of the ladies I’m super close to and she loves Poinsettia’s so I always make her sons card with a poinsettia. This year while looking through my Christmas paper and thinking of current sketches I saw this journaling card in the paper pack and thought it might work for sketch #3 of the Dec Card Sketch Challenge. This is what I came up with. I cut the poinsettia from the Wrap It Up Cricut Cartridge.

poinsettia-2

I decided since I made the lady’s son a card that I would make her one too since she loves poinsettia’s so much and she is “one of my ladies” from the retirement home! I also made one for a co-worker to give his step-mom for Christmas.
I used the same paper pad that was used for her son’s card but a different design. I made the poinsettia a little smaller and doubled up the green on the bottom.

This was for a lady at work’s daughter. She wanted it to be music themed and this is what I came up with. I decided to go with another poinsettia and then I will use this design to make one for my friend next year! I used Cas(e) this sketch #93 as my inspiration.

She said for her son-in-law this year she wanted something to do coal and “don’t be naughty”. Well I immediately thought of this Santa looking at his list from Gerda Steiner Designs – Wishlist Santa.
