October Calendar Page

I know I’m a couple days late. Life was not letting me craft. But I finally was able to sneak in my craft room today. I totally slacked and didn’t get 3 done last time so I have 5 more to make these 3 weeks to get my calendar finished. But I will say I’m farther along then I would have been if I wasn’t hosting this challenge.

Sorry for the darker pictures. My Ott light bulb decided to go out after 6+ years!

This represents my September because my husband’s birthday is the 13th so that means we go to Red Lobster or get Crab Legs from the store!! We love seafood and most special occasions are celebrated at Red Lobster!!

Part 2 of the Calendar Challenge

The first 3 weeks of the challenge is done and so far I have kept up! Just barely but I managed. Now it is time for Part 2 of the challenge where you have another 3 weeks to make 3 calendar pages!! Even if you didn’t get the first 3 done jump right in and you will be closer to having a Calendar done which is the perfect Christmas Gift.

For my inspiration I used Sketch #36 from Sketch -N- Scrap. What is so awesome about this site is that it has BOTH card and scrapbook sketches. The best of both worlds all in one place!!

We don’t do a lot for St. Patrick’s Day so didn’t want to use that for March. But since we have a couple birthdays I thought that would be a good theme for March. I love how you can customize the calendar to fit what you do each month!
My days were not cooperating so I will put them on later when I have more time.
I hope you will come play in the Calendar Challenge at Clearly iStamp Blog.

I’m hosting a Calendar Challenge at Clearly iStamp Blog.

The challenge is to make 3 calendar pages in 3 weeks so by September you will have a whole calendar completed! Just perfect for a Christmas gift. Having the challenge is also motivating me because if you join in then I have to continue to complete mine and not slack off. We finished the first 3 weeks today and last night I finished my other 2 pages, February and March. I will post March tomorrow once I get permission from the sketch site I used as inspiration. So here is February:

Clearly iStamp Blog Calendar Challenge

Gift Idea Tuesday plus a Challenge at Clearly iStamp Blog

Good Morning to you!
It is time for another Gift Idea Tuesday and today I made Calendars! Do you realize that Christmas is 5 1/2 months away?! Not that far away so I figured I better start coming up with Christmas Gifts. I decided that Clearly Digi Stamps has so many cute digital images that would look terrific on a calendar that someone would be getting a calendar this year! Well, now that I got making them I think I’m keeping them…ssshhh don’t tell anyone!
First I started with the traditional 12 x 12 Calendar and treated it like a scrapbook page. I used this sketch from my friend, Melissa W. See her sketches at her gallery on scrapbook.com or her new challenge blog, Simple Sketches.

When I started out with wanting to make a calendar it was going to be a Christmas gift for some lucky family member. But when I started looking for photos I didn’t have any that would work. I realized how neglectful I have been in taking photos. So that got me thinking….I will make it without photos and challenge my self to take photos that can fit into the layout. That way I will take more photos and have a scrapbook page done when that month is over. My plan is to cut that page off and stick it in an album when that month is over!
I also wanted to show that you can make a calendar without photos. If you can make a card you can make a calendar! I took this card sketch from My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club Challenge 130 (MFTWSC130) and used it as my inspiration for the calendar page….it’s just a big card front!

I think I’m keeping the 8 x 8 for me to take to work next year! Much better then the free ones you get in the mail!
I also made a card to show you how a card sketch can work for the calendar and a card! I just used the scraps left over from the calendar page so it worked out perfectly! Now I have one card done for Christmas too!

Now, you want to know where the challenge is in this, right?
We are going to challenge each other
to make and complete a calendar by September.
I figured we can do 3 pages in 3 weeks….surely we can! For every page you enter during those 3 weeks (up to 3 entries) you will be entered into a drawing for a $5.00 gift code for digital stamps at Clearly Digi Stamps. Then in September we should have a completed calendar! There will be a grand prize!! Anyone who completes a whole calendar (12 pages) will be entered into a drawing to win 1/2 the amount of Clearly Digi Stamps that you used on your calendar. So if you use 12 Clearly Digi Stamps to make the calendar you will win 6 Clearly Digi Stamps of your choice!! You don’t have to use CDS images to enter but it will get you more CDS stamps if you win the Grand Prize.
CHALLENGE: 3 calendar pages any size (with or without pictures)
Time: July 2 @ 10 am – July 23 @ 11 pm (Central Time)
Prize: $5 gift code to Clearly Digi Stamps for digital stamps.
Winner will be announced on July 24th @ 10 am (central time)

* You don’t have to make the pages in order. So start out with any month that you have inspiration for!
Go to Clearly iStamp Blog to find out all the details and entry into the challenge.
CHALLENGES:
1) Day 182 @ 365 Cards – I’m Torn.  I challenge you to use paper tearing to create a nature scene.
The 12 x 12 calendar design fits the challenge best. The card has a little bit of torn snow.

Don’t faint….I scrapbooked a page!!

Goofy and Pluto

Today at For Fun Challenges we are asking you to make a project that fits the theme: Cat or Dog. I decided to make a layout since my goal is to scrap at least one layout a month. Last year with getting on card making Design Teams I only completed three layouts so I didn’t want to do that again this year! But I am already behind since it is March! Oh well, at least I’m trying.

It didn’t say the dogs had to be real….and Goofy and Pluto are dogs so I went with it! You know me I have to be different. As the journaling says the colors are not the typical Goofy colors because he was in the Animal Kingdom. I was bummed as I had bought traditional Goofy embellishments and paper. Oh well, I still like how these colors worked together so nicely. It’s a simple layout but I like it.

Hope you will play with us this week and make a project featuring a cat or dog! You can make any project as long as it fits the theme!

CHALLENGES:

1) For Fun Challenge – Cat or Dog

Inspiration: This layout in Scrapbooks etc (Scrapbook Page Sketch 056) was what inspired this layout but had to squish it since I put it all on one page.

Welcome to Day 3 of the Clear Dollar Stamps Product Parade!  This is the time where the DT shows you the some different ways to use the newest releases from Clear Dollar Stamps.  The best part about it all is that, you can order everything RIGHT NOW!  You don’t have to wait!

I will be only showing one set but if you want to see the ALL of the amazing new stamps go to their blog Clearly iStamp.

My nephew Brogan

The set I’m going to show you is Calendar Tags Clear Acrylic Stamps   As you can see from my two samples how versatile this set can be. It is not only perfect for cards and scrapbook pages but Cassie used it to make a calendar tin.…check it out totally cool.

This was perfect for me to make my invitations to my Pumpkin Carving Party. I like to know things in advance so I can plan and think everyone is just like me! So this was a perfect way of sending out the invitations at the beginning of October and letting people know “SAVE THE DATE”. And it has worked because I already have a couple RSVP’s!!

I actually had two ideas in my head for how to use this on a scrapbook page but only had time for one. This is my adorable nephew Brogan (our close friends had twins in May!!) I wish I had a scrap page of me like this as a baby so I wanted to make sure they had one. Isn’t it fun to watch babies grow!! Oh and that photo with the hat is just too adorable!

Like I said the possibilities with this stamp set are endless!

For fun Challenge 08/17/2011

CHALLENGES:

1) For Fun Challenge– This week we are having a scrap page challenge. That’s it just make a scrap page. I’m sure you have a page that is sitting on your desk just waiting to be finished or a photo you want to scrap but haven’t had the time (that was me!!). This was the push I needed to take a break from the cards and make a scrap page. Which was refreshing since it has been 6 months since I made a page.

2) Lasting Memories Layout Challenge – TRY SOMETHING NEW! This is my first scrapbook page using a digital stamp. I think I have found a new way to add embellishments to my page. This was totally easy and fun.

Friends of ours had twins (Honor and Brogan) in May so my husband and I instantly became Aunt and Uncle again. They are adorable and we love taking photos of them so I’m sure there will be plenty of layouts done with them as the subject!! The cute fairy on there is a digital stamp by Wee Stamps. I colored it in using photo shop as I didn’t have time to use markers and I wanted it to look like an embellishment. My husband said he would teach me about shadows and other neat effects Photoshop can do but I’m a little scared to try that stuff!!

This was inspired by a Pagemap sketch but I can’t find it now to state which Pagemaps it is from but if I find it  I will update my post.

Alphabet Challenge Blog - N is for Navy plus one color

I thought this image was so cute that I decided to make it into a card. I wanted to do the Alphabet Challenge so I decided I would use the fairy image and made it orange and blue! The image was colored in Photoshop. I hope that even with a little bit of cream color that it fits the challenge since the main colors are Navy blue and Orange. I also think this makes a cute birthday card so I will add a Birthday sentiment to the inside.

CHALLENGES:

1) Alphabet Challenge Blog – N is for Navy plus one other color. Our challenge for you this week is  N for Navy Blue Plus One Other Colour.  These are the 2 main colours we want to see on your work, not just a little bit used in with lots of other colours!  Hopefully I have made the instructions clear as there was some confusion on the last colour theme we did.

2) August Card Challenge @ www.scrapbook.com – Photo Inspiration category. I took inspiration from the orange and blue combo with white flowers.

3) A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge #162 – Happy Birthday. I will put a birthday sentiment inside the card.

SUPPLIES for Honor (12 x 12 Scrapbook Page):
