Cardinal Wreath

So I went looking for an image for my friend that loves cardinals. I found a watercolor digital set called Songbirds @ SLS Lines. I made two different mother’s day cards using images from the set. I’m also changing out the saying and sending one to my friend to let her know I’m thinking of her…now to find time to make it!!
I used sketch #1 on the May Card Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com (original sketch Atlantic Sketch Challenge #207).
It is also for May Inspirational Card Challenge – theme category – Mother’s Day/Feminine.

I have a lady whose mother loves birds and bluebird just happens to be one of her favorites! So she requested this image for her Mother’s Day card. It is one of the images in the digital stamp set called Songbirds Watercolor Clipart by SLSLines. I’m also going to make it into a Birthday Card for another lady…just by changing the sentiment!

So if you follow me you know I don’t ever post anything besides crafty stuff but today I feel like I need to pass on an important Facebook page. I found this website last year after all the police officers were being shot just for being police officers. This organization (which only consists of a couple people and a dog) drives all over the country going to funerals of police, military, fire and emergency personnel. They bring the Honor Flag to be represented for the fallen heroes. It is a 501c so all donations are tax deductible…if you are looking for a non-profit to support I recommend this.

The organization is need of help as they run off donations only. They are asking for 500 people to send $10.00. If you can skip a lunch and donate that money PLEASE do. Here is the link to their page and if you go down a couple post you will see the Paypal link to donate. The Honor Network Facebook Page

You can also mail donations to:

The Honor Network PO BOX 413 Keller TX 76244.

If you can’t donate that’s okay please share the link on their page so maybe someone else can donate.

Thanks for time,

Kathy D.

Slam Dunk Thank You

Inside: Thank You!

Last month at work we were raising money for Big Brothers Big Sister. The local Police Dept (SPD) and the local Sheriff Dept (GCSD) play a basketball game every year where all the money raised goes to Big Brothers Big Sisters. Well my boss started talk crud that he could out sell me on tickets/donations to Big Brother Big Sister. So I told him it was on like Donkey Kong!! I sent an email to my family and friends and in less than 2 weeks they raised $550.00!!! Yay for family and friends!! As my SIL would say “we crushed him!” as my boss only raised $240.00. But we accomplished the main goal and that was we beat the Sheriff’s dept in raising the most money! So to thank my family and friends I made 19 of these cards to send out!

I did black and blue to represent that the local Police Dept (SPD) won!! The image is a free clip art I found on the internet. I used sketch #4 of the April Card Sketch Challenge.

Swept up Garage

Inside:
So I swept the garage so the Easter Bunny could bring you a new tool!

While my husband was gone last week I decided to clean out the garage as a surprise for him. I wanted to make him a card to sit on his bench so he would get it when he walked into the garage. So I had ideals but when Karen posted the April Inspirational Card Challenge – bonus category – Clean… the cleaning images at Imagine That Digital Stamps came to mind. I told my girlfriend what my thoughts were for the saying and she put it together and made it sound good. He not only liked the garage but he said he also liked the card!

I used Tuesday Morning Sketches #397 as my inspiration (posted to late to enter the challenge!)

So while I was getting ideals I saw some funny house cleaning sayings so I decided to use the rest of my scraps and make some funny cards with this design. See attached cards.

Palm Tree Beach Birthday

So I made a card similar to this one last year (see below) …but forgot to post it! But a lady requested a palm tree/beach card for her nephew. This version is different because I used a new sun die I recently got (instead of part of a circle) and made the sand bigger on this one. I made the letters the same color as the sand in hopes it looks like it was drawn in the sand!

CHALLENGES:
1) April Inspirational Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – theme – weather. Not sure if this is what Karen had in mind but it is SUNNY WEATHER on this card! (so wish I was there!)

SUPPLIES:
SVG file: Palm Tree @ Miss Kate Cuttables
Sun metal die: Stitched Sky Dies – Gina Marie Designs @ Scrapbook Outlet
Cardstock: Bazzill (kraft)
Accents/Tools: Cricut, Cuttin’ Up Cricut Cartridge, Xyron X
