Inside: It’s time to rest and take it easy.

This is for the owner of From the Heart Stamps. On Aug 11th we were notified by her team that Faith (owner) was in the hospital and to pray for her if we could. Aug 13th her dad updated us to let us know they found a brain tumor just bigger than a golf ball size and they were going to operate. She is now at home recovering from the surgery and starting treatments for cancer. This woman is amazing and even though I have never met her she has touched my life with her sweet spirit, kind heart and love for God. Her dad was so kind to give us an address we could send happy mail of encouragement to. So I went looking through her images that I own (because her store is temporarily on hold) and came across this one. She does not sell pre-colored digis but she had a special one time so I got the pre-colored one of this!! When I saw it I came up with the sentiment. I also used a sketch from their challenge blog – I {heart} sketches #69. I was having a hard time trying to find a ribbon to go across like what was in the sketch. So I pulled out my box of odds and ends ribbons and old old fibers (remember those!!). I found this perfect colored fiber trim that was just perfect…I love those happy finds!!

Birdbrain Birthday Candle Card

My friend and her family have a very playful and sarcastic relationship with each other. She was looking through my birthday cards and saw the one I did with this image:

She wanted a birthday card using this image and then she found this saying on the internet: “You’re only as old as you feel….Wow that must suck for you!”

Birdbrain Candle

And that is how this card came about. Oh, I also used the current sketch challenge #129 at I [heart} card sketches Challenge.

Decking the Halls….just in time!

Here I am with only a few hours left to link up my creation for the From the Heart Stamps Digi of the Month Challenge.

I tried paper piecing the image so I wouldn’t have to ask my husband to color the image in but it just would not cooperate. I tore the head off one bird and smudge black ink on another so gave up! I went to my husband with the saddest wife eyes possible and asked him to color up the bird…I had managed to do the ornaments all by myself! Of course there is no shading or fancy coloring but it is colored! I found the sketch on Sketch Saturday and thought it would be perfect.

Define Good

Deck the Halls

I saw someone had used the sentiment “Define Good” and thought that would be perfect for my Brother’s card so I made one of each!

Float to your Happy Place

HappyPlace

Oh I would love to be somewhere tropical or anywhere with water really (I’d even take a lazy river or pool!)….then I would be in my happy place! I realized that today is my really only day off till the end of the month since I’m getting my niece on Monday-Tuesday. So I decided I better get my Progressive challenges done. Which will shock them because I’m usually posting with only hours to spare! I decided to paper piece this image since my husband has been busy with work I didn’t want to ask him to color it. Took longer but I love it. I might ask him to color it in these colors when he has time so I can make more with my left over paper. Too hard to make more than one when you paper piece! I love how this turned out. It came together pretty easy since I found the perfect sketch at Mojo Monday and then found the color scheme at Colour Q.

Super Bird

So this is the image I received FREE for completing last months monthly challenge at From the Heart Stamps. I did not need another Father’s Day so I decided to make a birthday card.

Super Bird Balloons

And I thought his hand was perfect for holding balloons. But while I was making this card I had an ideal to make another version so that is why there are 2 cards that are similar but different!

Super Bird Stars

While making the balloon card I had an ideal to make a 4th of July card with this image and that is how this card was born. I’m still going to keep it a birthday card because of the paper I used it still doesn’t shout 4th of July to me…..that just means there might be a 3rd card with this image! I liked the stars to give it more of a super hero birthday feel.
