A lady at work told me her sister was diagnosed with breast cancer and was starting 15 weeks of chemo. She wanted to know if I could make mini or small regular cards of encouragement so she could have her sister open one every week of chemo. She just needed them within the week because she was going to see her. So I prayed because it was going to be tough to get 15 cards done in one week and God said "tell her yes" so I did. He made all the cards come together so nicely and fairly quick. She loved them and knew her sister would too!
She told me that her sister was a Christian and more of a flower/beauty type of girl. So I knew I had enough stuff in my craft room so I went looking and found so much wonderful stuff that fit what I felt she wanted for her sister.
This two cards were made using Stampin' Up supplies (I believe both are discontinued but if you have them like me maybe this will inspire you!) But they do still have the Hand Penned Petals Stamp Set so I'll link my friends site. I have not used the stamps yet just the beautiful cards in the card pack.

OMG does anyone else even have their Making Memories tag maker anymore!! When I started playing with sketch #4 in the Sept Card Sketch Challenge I thought making the circles tags helped them pop more off the patterned paper so that is how this OLD TOOL got dusted off!

I am really happy with this card!! I finally made a CAS card that I like! I don’t do CAS and it is usually hard for me but this one came together pretty easily. I also love that it was inspired by Sketch #4 at the September Card Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com. Instead of 5 small hexagons I made one big one. I wanted to do this sketch but it had me stumped for a bit….but not any longer! I was also inspired by Ceal’s card @ Simply Beautiful Blog and took the sentiment from it. I also went with the simple scheme to follow challenge #208 at ColourQ Blog – black, white and a splash of one color.
But most importantly I made this card for my niece to encourage her to read books. She is struggling in reading so I plan on sending this to her to help her along.
