Three different cards from one digital image

Birthday Flowers v1

I had a request for a birthday card for a lady that loves flowers and lives in Florida. I sent the customer some images and she liked Fred, She Said Designs – watercolor floral corner stamp.

So I found 2 cards and a sketch that inspired me so I decided to make all three and let her pick which one she wanted. Which also fit the Oct Inspirational Card Challenge – Bonus category which was to make at least 2 different cards with the same image….I made 3. I also used one of the sketches from Jillibean Soup’s Blog that they had posted for World Card Making Day. I didn’t use any Jillibean Soup product so I won’t enter it into the challenge but it still inspired my card!

*Note: this image was water colored by the artist and sold as a pre-colored digi! Which is great for us who can’t color well at all!!*

Out of the three cards she picked this one!

SUPPLIES:
Digital Image: Watercoloured Doodled Floral Corner with Butterflies @ Fred, She Said Designs.
Inks: PRE-COLORED digital image printed on Canon Inkjet printer.
Cardstock: Bazzill (Raven, AFrican Daisy)

Birthday Flowers v2

Here is the 2nd card I made using the same digital image.  I used this card Yana Smakula’s blog for my inspiration. I don’t stamp so I printed and cut out the digital image and adhered it with the xyron 510.

*Note: this image was water colored by the artist and sold as a pre-colored digi! Which is great for us who can’t color well at all!!*

Sending Prayers

Yes!! That is a stamped sentiment!! I love seeing all the stamped cards but it seriously is hard for me so I would much rather run it through my printer! But I had bought these stamps awhile back and thought it worked perfectly with this sketch and butterfly.
Simple card but sometimes simple works.

I can’t remember where I saw that challenge a month or so ago but liked it so I used it for Product Category in the November Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com.  Here is my take on the challenge:

Birthday Wishes -Butterfly

CHALLENGES:

  1. Nov Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – Product Category – plaids or checks. I also used sketch in the upper left corner from sketch category.
  2. Crafting by Designs Challenge – Times 3. Must have 3 of something. I have 3 butterflies, 3 orange circles, 3 yellow circles, 3 pearls on each butterfly.
  3. Use Your Stuff Challenge #201 – Lots of Layers. It’s not a lot of layers to some but is to others!

My nurse friend asked me to make her co-workers birthday cards through out the year. There were 3 total in November and I already made one so here are the last two I made for this month.

Happy Birthday Butterflies

CHALLENGES:

  1. Nov Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – Sketch Category – bottom right sketch…instead of the 3 little circles I used butterflies and moved them up a little.

Samples for Scrapbook.com challenges

So I’m hosting 2 card challenges at Scrapbook.com this month for Karen who is going on VACATION for the WHOLE month (sooo jealous!!). She is amazing and usually has all the challenges done and post them as samples. Well, I’m not that good so I will play along with everyone else this month. But here are 3 samples I did get done so far.

Daisy Happy Birthday

I originally planned on using this beautiful bouquet daisy digital stamp from Diane’s Daydream Designs for one of the May challenges but I just couldn’t get the card to work. So I saw this sketch and tried it which I’m so glad I did because I LOVE IT!!

CHALLENGES:

1) June Card Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – Sketch # 2 – Originally came from Scrappy Sketches #35-13

2) Seize the Birthday Challenge – Make a birthday card and use the topping if you want (optional) – Tags. I chose not to do the topping unless you count the “Happy Birthday” saying as a tag.

horse1

Inside:

Happy Birthday

to a lovely young woman;

full of grace, beauty,

spirit and fire.

I made this card for a guy at church who wanted it for his Granddaughter’s 17 or 18th birthday (He wasn’t sure but it was one of those). She likes horses so I thought Carousel Horse 1 from Doodle Pantry was perfect.

CHALLENGES:

1) June Card Sketches @ Scrapbook.com – Sketch #5 – Originally from Tuesday Morning Sketches #217

2) Seize the Birthday Challenge – Make a birthday card and use the topping if you want (optional) – Tags. I chose not to do the topping.

Panda with Balloons

When I saw May Digi of the Month, It’s Not a Tie,  at Deedee’s Digi I knew that I tie wouldn’t work for my father-in-law so I got to thinking! I kept seeing the Panda holding balloons so I wrote Deedee and asked permission to remove the tie from his hand. Deedee agreed that my wonderful husband could work his magic in Adobe and take the tie away. I still wasn’t sure what it was going to look like except I wanted balloons. Well, the inspiration photo this month for the June Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com inspired this card. The photo is a little girl in a red polka dot dress holding a bouquet of red balloons. I embossed the red paper with dots to get the feel of the red polka dot dress. I dragged out an older sketch, The deconstructed Sketch #46, for this card.

CHALLENGES:

1) June Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – Photo Inspiration Category – use the photo as your inspiration

2) Deedee’s Digi of the Month Challenge – Use May’s Stamp of the Month and you will get June’s Digi of the Month FREE!

Digital Release Day at CDS!

I’m sooooo sorry I’m late with my post. I just got back from helping a friend in Tulsa and totally forgot that today was the 15th!

With Digital Release Day at Clear Dollar Stamps I get to show you two new digital stamp sets! The first one I played with is Bugs Digital Image I turned the butterfly into a orange color and then printed it on orange cardstock. I made one a little bigger then the other then stacked them on each other. The design for the card was lifted from Donnajazz at scrapbook.com – here card was picked as the “lift” category in the August Card Challenge at scrapbook.com

CHALLENGES:

1) August Card Challenge @ scrapbook.com – “Lift” category – lift the card that is provided for inspiration

I then played with Birthday Celebration Digital Image I changed the color of the stamp to match the paper. I’m excited how these turned out because I used left over paper from a Creative Memories Christmas pack. My friend sells it and had several packs left over last year so I made several Christmas cards with them but didn’t use these two colors. I think they make wonderful Birthday cards.

SUPPLIES:
