Christmas Tree with buttons

I had this image on my desk with buttons that I pulled for it earlier in the year but never made a card with it. I needed a card for a regular customer so I thought this image would work perfectly. This image is from a paper pack I bought a couple years ago. It has several journal cards with images on them. I ended up using several this year to make quick cards. I used Freshly Made Sketches #268 for my inspiration.

Happy Mothers Day flowers hearts

My big boss asked me to make a card for his wife. When asked for ideals he said hearts and flowers. Well Karen picked Cardabilities #112 sketch for the bonus sketch this month and I thought it just might work…and it did! I had no ideal if she liked purple or aqua when I made this so I was glad when he told me she liked those colors!

My husband was shocked when I showed him this card…he said it was out of my comfort zone. I said it was but it was and I got to play with a bunch of my new toys. He really liked it and always encourages me to try new things or things that scare me (inks!!) This I will turn this into a couple wedding cards I have coming up!

It is the end of the third term over at House of Cards so they are having a “goodbye” and “welcome” new team members Blog Hop till the 15th with a bunch of prizes. Someone somewhere during the hop will win a $25.00 gift code to Deedee’s Digis just for playing along. Thank You So Much

This card took on a life of it’s own when I ended up combining 3 main challenges. So I looked at the inspirational photo and the flower in the frame keep drawing my attention so I decided to go with that. I found the flower in the Stitchy Fall set that I thought would work perfectly. In trying to figure out what color scheme I wanted to go with I saw the color challenge at ColouQ and started going that direction (I missed the deadline but that’s okay still got a cute card from it!) Then I remembered seeing a sketch at Feeling Sketchy that had a square with circles and thought that would go with how the flower looked in the photo above. So this is what I came up with when I mixed all that together. The only thing I think might have looked better is I mounted this on a black card base instead of just leaving it the blue but I still like it!

Sew Thankful

Sewing Thank You

So I changed jobs at work and my new position requires me to wear a uniform. I haven’t worn a uniform in 8 years so had to buy all new ones. Well, I got them just 2 days before having to wear them and they didn’t fit. So I called the Tailor shop up the street from my house. As soon as I told her my issues and that I would need it done in one day she said No problem come on in. She was an angel sent from God above and saved the day! I plan on getting a gift card to a local restaurant to thank her for work extra to squeeze me in and getting my uniforms done in one day. Diane’s Daydream Designs set – Life is Sew Sweet – sewing notions is perfect for this.

I cut out the drawn thread and used real floss as thread. I printed out an extra set of buttons to cut them out and pop dot them on the card. I used a past Tuesday Morning Sketch #273 as my inspiration.

This card was inspired by a card I found on Pinterest – http://iminhaven.blogspot.com/2012/01/color-my-world.html I didn’t have a flower die or punch that would work for this so a trip to Michael’s was the solution. I bought a Martha Stewart anywhere punch of a butterfly. It was too big to do the original design so this is what I came up with.

I did a 2nd card and messed up on the punching so I put the sentiment on the outside. Which do you like better?? Please let me know as I want to make more and I can’t decide which one to do.
