Standing order for Mother’s Day

I have been making some of the guys at work cards for their mom’s and wives for several years. This is one of my longest customers and every Mother’s Day he gets a card for his grandma (flamingos), Mom (cactus, old west), wife (sunflowers) and step-mom (garden, flowers, old trucks). So this is this years cards….

I original made this one for a guy who wanted a “bright happy sunflower” card to encourage someone. Sunflowers usually have darker colors to it because of the darker yellow Sunflowers are. But he wanted a brighter yellow so this is what I came up with. Hope he likes it! I used Sketch~N~Scrap World Card Making Day 2019 sketch #4 as my inspiration.  I found a color scheme on the internet and then modified it a little.

Bright Sunflower

SUPPLIES:
Cardstock: Bazzill (Blue Oases, Atlantic, African Daisy, Hillary), AC Cardstock (Taffy)
Metal Dies: Spellbinders (Create a Sunflower)
Accents/Tools: Darice Embossing Folder (wire fence), Doodlebug Sprinkles (Birthday girl)

So I had bought some sunflower stickers and made this version for the wife that loves sunflowers! (I have been making her cards since she was the girlfriend!)

Cactus Mothers Day

This card was inspired by one of Karen’s (TexasMomOf4) cards that we are lifting as part of the May 2020 Inspirational Card Challenge.

This is not showing up very well in the photograph on here. I promise it looks way better in real life. It is a different style for me but I think I like it. When I started putting the plants on the popped up piece I had to hang them off to make them fit. I liked the look and realized Karen’s had a little hanging off too. Thanks Karen for the inspiration!

P.S. – the background is paper that comes in the paper pack.

Flamingo Mothers Day

His grandma gets a flamingo Mother’s Day and Christmas card every year. So this is paper from the same line I made her card in 2014. I used Atlantic Hearts Sketch #361 as my inspiration.

SUPPLIES:

Patterned Paper: Carta Bella (Summer Lovin’)
Accents/Tools: Scallop punch

Happy Mothers Day flowers

This was for his step-mom and was also one of my popular Mother’s Day cards this year. The flower was cut from a patterned paper in a paper pad. The patterned paper also came from the same paper pad. Added some cardstock, twine and cute sketch and the card was done! I used the Sketch~n~Scrap Sketch #165 for my inspiration.

Cactus Mothers Day

I have a standing order for cactus/southwest Mother’s Day card for one of the guys at work. So I bought some cactus dies and this is what I came up with. Used the same sketch I did for the rose card but did it a little different. That’s what I love about sketches….can make so many different types of cards from one sketch. I used an embossing folder to make the background which was the technique category of the May Card Challenge.

I used this sketch as my inspiration.

Warm Weather Christmas!

One of the guys at work has a grandma that loves flamingo’s and a mom that lives in Texas and likes southwest themes so these two images from Doodle Pantry were perfect for their Christmas Cards. He pretty much has a standing order for Christmas, Birthdays and Mother’s Days.

For the Flamingo card I used Fancy Flamingo and Santa Accessories. I got the ideal from Pat Dadisman’s card under the samples of Fancy Flamingo. I used Sketch n Scrap #16 for my inspiration. My husband added the hat to the flamingo in photoshop for me!

Christmas Cactus

I used the Holiday Cactus image from Doodle Pantry and an old Stella Says Sketch #135 for inspiration. Not sure if you can see it well in the photo but I used glossy accents on the Christmas lights. I like how it turned out in real life.
