Encouragement Cards for Chemo patient

A lady at work told me her sister was diagnosed with breast cancer and was starting 15 weeks of chemo. She wanted to know if I could make mini or small regular cards of encouragement so she could have her sister open one every week of chemo. She just needed them within the week because she was going to see her. So I prayed because it was going to be tough to get 15 cards done in one week and God said "tell her yes" so I did. He made all the cards come together so nicely and fairly quick. She loved them and knew her sister would too!

She told me that her sister was a Christian and more of a flower/beauty type of girl. So I knew I had enough stuff in my craft room so I went looking and found so much wonderful stuff that fit what I felt she wanted for her sister.

This two cards were made using Stampin' Up supplies (I believe both are discontinued but if you have them like me maybe this will inspire you!) But they do still have the Hand Penned Petals Stamp Set so I'll link my friends site. I have not used the stamps yet just the beautiful cards in the card pack.

Stitchy Cross

I made this for my friend I met on-line several years ago. Her 18 yr old son was diagnosed last month, Dec 2014, with bone cancer. He has started his 6 month chemo treatments. I made him a card but I also wanted to make her a card to encourage her as she goes through this battle with him. When praying and asking God what she needed to hear he advised me to send this verse. So I paired it with a stitched cross from Deedee’s Digis. The design inspiration for this card came from the Deconstructed Sketch # 183.

CHALLENGES:

1) Suzy Bee’s Bloomin’ Challenge #65 – Stitching – faux or real. I went with the stitching in the design of the cross.

2) Feb Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – Bonus – Stitching

SUPPLIES:

Digital Image: Stitchy Crosses @ Deedee’s Digis

Cardstock: Bazzill

Inks: pre-colored digital image printed on Canon Inkjet Printer

Accents/Tools: Cricut Cuttlebug (Anna Griffin – Rosa) embossing folder, pop dots, Fiskar’s Fuse

Bone Cancer Encouragment-email

A couple weeks ago I got in touch again with a friend that I met through a challenge. She told me that in December her 18 yoa son was diagnosed with bone cancer…he has 2 tumors in his hips. I asked her if it would be weird if I sent him an encouragement card and she said no that he would like it. She was actually trying to find ways to get cards sent to her son during this journey. So I wanted a simple and manly card since it was going to an 18 year old male. When I saw sketch #93 at CAS(E) this Sketch I knew it would be perfect for this digital image from Diane’s Daydream Designs. Unfortunately Diane’s had to close shop because of the new VAT tax law in Europe but I can still play with her images and pout that they are no longer available.
