Birthday Candle Birdbrain

Had a last minute birthday request! So I whipped this together tonight…thank you Lord for card sketches and husbands that will color in Photoshop with a minutes notice!

I used sketch #5 in the Feb 2017 Card Sketch Challenge @ – the original sketch is MojoBella #25.

It is all about the Sentiment

I needed a birthday card for my Sister-in-law. She likes hot tea and coffee so I thought this image, Coffee Cup Greetings, at Deedee’s Digis was perfect. I liked the color challenge at Cupcake Inspiration this week but didn’t get it linked up before it closed. I used the I {heart} sketch #101 as my inspiration. I liked it but it didn’t look like my sister-in-law at all so I made a second card that was more her colors and style.

1) Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenge #87 – Something yummy to eat or drink

2) Suzy Bee’s Bloomin’ Challenge #73 – Add a sentiment

3) Seize the Birthday – Anything Birthday

Poinsettia Garland

Poinsettia Candle

When I saw Sketch #5 for the August Card Sketch Challenge @ I thought the poinsettia garland from Diane’s Daydream Designs would be perfect for this. I had been wanting to use them but hadn’t found the perfect sketch yet till now!! One of the ladies at the retirement home loves poinsettia’s so I made this card for her son. Everything is printed on the white piece of card stock. I then printed a 2nd copy of just the candle/poinsettia piece to cut it out and then pop dotted it on top of the image. That is the only dimension to this card. I adhered the white piece to a red cardstock base and the card was done!

I was sweating it!

Today is the last day to make a project with the February Stamp of the Month at From the Heart Stamps (FTHS) and I just got it done! This month hasn’t allowed for much crafting and now I’m sick with a cold. Some people can craft when they are sick…I’m not one of them. My creative juices are plugged up with sinus crap at the moment so I’m surprised I was able to get this done. I’m happy with it for now we will see when I feel better if I still like it! I made it with one of my Best Friends in mind that has a birthday in April. Her favorite color combo is yellow and dark blue so that is what I used.

Don't Sweat it

Inside Card: … you still look like a Spring Chick!

This stamp, Birthday Candle Birdbrain, comes with a ton of sentiments! I was having a hard time people which one to use! I colored the bird in photoshop (have a hard time with yellow when I do watercolors) the rest I did with Tombow markers.

I used Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #208 as my inspiration. Instead of the second block on the bottom I did a long skinny one to hold my sentiment. I also offset the image from the blue mat.

3) Seize the Birthday – Anything Goes. No topping this week just make a birthday card!

4) March Card Challenge @ – Product Category – Fiber/Thread (no ribbon)…I’m hoping floss is okay!

5) Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #208 – Use the sketch provided as your inspiration.

Happy Birthday sketch

Today’s challenge at Clearly iStamp is to use the sketch provided as your inspiration. I used Word Doodles Digital Image from Clearly Digi Stamps (Clear Dollar Stamps) and paired it with the patterned paper that comes in the December Challenge Digi – Say Thank You.

This was the perfect inspiration I needed for a masculine birthday card I had to make for a gentlemen at church that placed an order for cards.

1) Clearly Inspired Challenge #65 (CIC65) – Use the sketch provide as inspiration

2) Dec Card Challenge @ – Favorites Category (inspired by a sketch or someone’s card)

Happy Birthday w stars

I was working on birthday cards for a gentlemen at the church that placed an order. He wanted a birthday card for his granddaughter and grandson who are in their 20’s. I made two different cards using this paper and digital stamp. Here is one of them and the other one will be posted on Friday. I was inspired by the sketch on Day 256 @ 365Cards.  I usually don’t do CAS cards so this one was a little out of my comfort zone but I liked how it turned out. I’m actually entering into Day 273 at 365Cards since it was a Anything Goes Challenge and since it was inspired by 365Cards I figured it was perfect. You also get a sneak peak at the cute paper that comes in a Digital Stamp set that comes out THIS FRIDAY at Clearly Digi Stamps – Say Thank You Digital Stamp.

Stamps: Word Doodles Digital Stamps and Say Thank You Digital Stamp both at Clearly Digi Stamps
Cardstock: Bazzill
Patterned Paper: digital paper from Say Thank You Digital Stamp set
