Joy

Joy.JPG

So Tuesday after my root canal I decided to clean up a pile on my craft room floor. In doing so I made this card. When trying to come up with ideals last month if I saw a sketch that sparked an ideal I set it aside with the product that I thought would work with it. This was one of those so I made it instead of putting the stuff away. The JOY was actually on a journaling card that came with the paper pack but the patterned paper it was on was not clicking for me. So I cut the JOY out and put it on solid paper and liked it a lot better. The sketch that inspired this card was Try Stampin’ on Tuesday #289.
I turned the sketch on it’s side.

Lady Golf Bag

Golfbag female

I had an order for a birthday card for a 60ish lady that loves to play golf. She also like primary/bold colors. While searching for images and inspiration I saw a card that used the Wrap it Up cricut cartridge. So I went looking through my cartridges and I had it!! And it has this golf club set in it!! It had swirls on the top layer so I left that off. I used MOJO Bella Sketch #14 for my inspiration…I know the circle with the #14 could be part of the sketch but doesn’t have to be but I liked it as it was a perfect spot for the golf ball!

Water You up to

When I saw this image and saying last month I knew it would be perfect to send to my friend this summer. I have kept up pretty good sending her a card a month…been late a few months…but still going strong. So I figured this would be perfect for July or August and it’s just so cute with that saying! It fit in perfectly for the “Beach” challenge at Outlawz CAS Challenge. Now CAS is not my choice of style for card making but I do like how this one came out.

I bought this embossing folder a couple months ago knowing it would come in handy…just looks like water or space ship to me! So I was so excited when I looked in my embossing folders and saw it! It’s perfect…at least I think so. I also used an EK Success border punch that also reminding me of bubbles in water. Paired that with a Clean & Simple Stamping Sketch from 01/14/2011 and this was the result.

Caroling Snowman

So last night I’m looking through challenges I have saved as favorites and come across 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown challenge. The challenge this week is sponsored by Deedee’s Digis and the challenge is to use the awesome sketch as inspiration so I just HAD to play! When I turned the sketch on its side it reminded me of a snowman so I went with that. Then the sentiment would be on the side when you turn the sketch so I decided instead of stitching around the edge I would place the sentiment around the edge since the snowman is singing the song! Inside will say…and a Happy New Year!

I have made 3 out of 5 sketches for the Card Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com so I wanted to try to make the last 2 sketches. I used scraps that I had left over from making Father’s Day cards with this paper a couple years ago. The scraps were perfect for this design.

This 2nd card I made for a guy at church that orders my cards. His grandson is turning 14 and is into playing the xbox so I went with that theme. I then made an extra one and made it a Happy Father’s Day Card.  This card takes time since it is paper pieced so I only made 1 extra and will make this only when requested.
