Cat With Sign – Birthday

Cat Sign Birthday

So I needed a card for my co-workers wife and my niece. They both like cats so I went looking in my images and found this digital stamp (also comes in a clear stamp) from Gerda Steiner (Cat Holding Sign). My co-worker got deployed at the end of Dec and his wife turned 30 this month. I know it has to be hard without her husband so I’m going to send the card with a small gift certificate to get some local Andy’s Custard!
On my niece’s card I will place her name on the sign instead of the age. Found the patterned paper in a workout paper pad from Michael’s (Craft Smith)….trying to use up some stuff on hand.

I used sketch #3 from the Jan Card Sketch Challenge on Scrapbook.com. The original sketch can be found  Here At MojoMonday.

SUPPLIES:
Cardstock: Bazzill (Whirlpool, lily pond, Kachina, velvet)
Patterned Paper: Michael’s Paper Pad/Craft Smith (Working on my Fitness)

Accents/Tools: EK Success 1/16 pop dots, Queen & Co Epoxy white dots,
Inks/Pens: Stampin’ Up

Warm Winter Wishes.JPG

This is the Jan Digi of the Month at From the Heart Stamps. If you make a card with this image you get a free image next month…and they are cute images!! I thought this image would be perfect to use with the colors in the Jan Card Challenge- Color Category so I sent my husband the image and the colors and he colored this in photoshop for me!! I’m so spoiled! Then I couldn’t decide what kind of card I wanted to make with this image. I saw the sketch on the Cardmakers Card Challenge and the ideal of snowflakes came to mind so I went with a Christmas card which is good because my goal is to make 1-3 Christmas cards a month.

I promise that is Berrylicious (pink family) and not a red on there!

Gift Cards and Money Holders

In October I made a gift card holder so when I sold my cards at our work bazaar I placed them out and let people know I could make different ones since I ran out of time to have several designs displayed. I got orders….so I had to make up more!! I also had a lady ask if I could do money cards so I told her yes, so I had to make those up too. Now money cards were a little tricky finding a size that looked right for money and then finding envelopes. I got my inspiration from this blog but she used Stampin’ Up envelopes that I believe are discontinued as I couldn’t find them in a current catalog.  I figured out what size I needed it to be around and after searching the internet I found 3 7/8 x 7 1/2 envelopes at envelopesexpress.com so the finished card is 3 1/2 x 7 1/4.

I started with the gift cards holders since I already had one made for the order (the deer I made in October). She also wanted the cat image I made a card with and then an ice skater. I was excited about the ice skater as I bought this image, Bella Ice Skate, by Kristi Dailey several years ago and have never had the time to use it. She said the girls hair was between a blond and light brown so I did both and she chose the blond! The original gift card holder ideal I got my inspiration from was at Dawn’s Stamping Thoughts.

Imagine That….digis by Kris – Customer Link up – link up 10 projects using Imagine That images and receive a $5.00 coupon to the store.

The lady who wanted the money orders wasn’t exactly sure what images she wanted so I made up an ice skater and the reindeer and sent her photos.

Money Holder - Ice Skater

I used I {heart} Sketches #101 as my inspiration.

Here is what the inside looks like:

Inspired by Evelyn Holmberg’s sketch on Stick it Down Blog.

I also made a regular card this size to see what they would look like. *Sorry the lighting is not that great. I got a new camera and still trying to figure out how to use it!

Here is my entry for this months Digi of the Month Challenge at Imagine That by Kris. I didn’t get to play last month so I was glad I was able to jump in again this month. I know the cat lovers fell in love with this so I’m hoping she has a dog version of a Christmas stamp coming too (hint, hint, hint). When I saw the colors in this pre-colored digital stamp I thought of a 6 x 6 paper pad (My Mind’s Eye – Merry Little Christmas) in my stash and I was right…it was perfect!! I didn’t get to us my 6 x 6 pads last month during the Sept Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com but was glad I could use it this month. I need to use up my growing stash of supplies!! I paired it with the sketch from Mojo Monday #420 and came up with this cute card (if I say so myself!!)

Anything Goes with a Birthday card and Easter card

Penny’s Paper-Crafty Challenge this week is Anything Goes. So I first made the birthday card for a friends brother in-law and decided it fit my father-in-law so I made him one too!

Great Outdoors Birthday

Then I decided to make a card for the Word Art Wednesday Challenge so I will share it at Penny’s Paper-Crafty Challenge also.

TheLordLiveth

There is free Word Art of this scripture on the blog but it didn’t fit the space I had since it was more of horizontal sentiment. So I tried to mimic what she did and made it vertical. When I saw this scripture it made me think of this digital image by Deedee’s Digis so that is why I went with it.

CHALLENGES:
1) Word Art Wednesday – uplifting project

2) Penny’s Paper-Crafty Challenge #221 – Anything Goes

3) 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge #240 – Easter

4) April Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – Favorites – used a sketch from last month (Mojo Monday Sketch #361)

All out of love inspiration!

So I wasn’t feeling inspired by the theme of “love” at the Outlawz Greeting Challenge so I decided to go with the optional color challenge or Red, Pink and White. I still struggled with it and ended up with two cards! The first one I started out with Meowy Christmas but ended up with no white beside the little bit around the edges of the image and forgot the sentiment so that wasn’t going to work for a Greeting challenge!! So I went back to the craft room and created the ornamental card that had all the needed elements!

Reindeer Cat

Inspiration for the ornamental card came from a card I found on Live Love Stamp blog.

Cool Cat Birthday

Inside: I hope your birthday is as Cool as you!

My niece’s sister turns 15 on Thursday, 01/15/15…pretty cool huh!?! She isn’t technically my niece but I have been Aunt Kathy since she was a couple years old (since the girls are only a couple years apart). She likes cats and red, green and purple are her favorite colors so when I saw this cat image at Deedee’s Digis I knew it would be perfect for her 15 year birthday card. When I started putting it together I realized just the purple and red together made it look like a red hat birthday card!! Oh well I’m sure she will love it. She is into drawing so we gave her a gift card to hobby lobby so she could get more drawing supplies.

Whimsy Garden Fence

Oh this is sooo close to the dead line….10 min before it closes! This is a month long challenge and for some reason I can never get to it till the end. This time I cut too close! I am not great at coloring digital stamps so a lot of time I use pre-colored digitals. But Faith pushes me out of my comfort zone and makes me drag out my Tombow markers! So after several tries tonight I gave up and went to spend time with the hubby. Around 1030 I came back into my craft room and thought what the heck might as well try to see if I can get the challenge done. I prayed the whole time and it came out (even with a water blob at the very end)!! God even hears our crafting prayers if we will seek him in all that we do. So that left me 30 min to design the card. I’m not happy with it but it’s not horrible either. I might re-do it or I might leave it….depends on how I feel in the morning since it is midnight and I’m pooped!
