When I saw Vivian Lake’s card that is for the “lift” category in the Feb Inspirational Card Challenge I figured I had a digital stamp or SVG that I could use. But then I thought I bet I have 3- dimensional stickers that would work. I didn’t even get to the sticker binders before I found these in the cabinet laying next to the binders. While looking for paper I remember the challenge at Jingle Belles Christmas Challenge is to you lots lot of text. Well I know it is the same word over and over but when I saw it I thought it looked good and worked for the challenge. I embossed snowflakes on the white piece that look just like the ones on the blue piece.

CHALLENGES:
1) Feb Inspirational Card Challenge – Lift Category – lift Vivian Lake’s card that is posted.
2) Jingles Belles Feb 12th Challenge – Text Me – use fonts…focus on the text/words of the card.  Hopefully this is enough text on the card.
3) Craftyhazelnut’s Christmas Challenge #268 – use the color blue

4) Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge #65 – Emboss it

SUPPLIES:
Stickers: I believe they were at Hobby Lobby a few years ago
Cardstock: Bazzill (yellowgreen, Red Devil, white)
Patterned Paper: Recollections (Bright & Jolly)
Accents/Tools: Darci embossing folder, Cricut, Basic George Cricut Cartridge

Warm Winter Wishes

Warm Winter Wishes.JPG

This is the Jan Digi of the Month at From the Heart Stamps. If you make a card with this image you get a free image next month…and they are cute images!! I thought this image would be perfect to use with the colors in the Jan Card Challenge- Color Category so I sent my husband the image and the colors and he colored this in photoshop for me!! I’m so spoiled! Then I couldn’t decide what kind of card I wanted to make with this image. I saw the sketch on the Cardmakers Card Challenge and the ideal of snowflakes came to mind so I went with a Christmas card which is good because my goal is to make 1-3 Christmas cards a month.

I promise that is Berrylicious (pink family) and not a red on there!

CHALLENGES:
1) Jan Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – color category – use the all the colors provided.
2) Cardmakers Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – 01/11/2015 Sketch – the original sketch is a Pagemaps Card Sketch Jan 2014.
3) From the Heart Stamps Digi of the Month Challenge – use the image provided to get next months image free.
4) Crimbo Crackers Christmas Challenge #98 – Anything Goes
5) Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge #63 – Use Designer Paper. I’m guessing that means patterned paper.
6) Christmas Card Challenge #7 – Any Christmas Card or use the optional theme (which was an inspirational photo). I did not do the optional theme.
7) Craftyhazelnut’s Christmas Challenge #264 – Cute Christmas/Winter or Anything Goes. I went with cute!

SUPPLIES:
Digital Image: Cozy Kittens @ Crafting From the Heart Digital Stamps
Cardstock: Bazzill ( Ash, Berrylicious, Kachina)
Patterned Paper: Recollections (Aqua Dot)
Inks: colored in photoshop by my wonderful husband and printed on Canon Inkjet Printer

I had to go into Card Mode and just crank them out and not worry about posting them so I would make sure to get them all done. So here are ones I made that haven’t been posted yet.

I made this card for one of my sweet ladies at the retirement home. I have a couple of them that like it personal for their kids. One ladies loves poinsettias so I try to do one with that theme each year.

Supplies:

Cardstock: Bazzill (Crabapple dark, kiwi crush)

Patterned Paper: Carta Bella Paper Company (Poinsettias), Simple Stories (Handmade Holiday Paper Pack)

Accents/Tools: EK Success circle punch, Fiskars border punch, pop dots

Getting Sketchy with Completely Christmas

Sweet Song of Christmas

So if you have been to Completely Christmas Challenge or if you go there now you will see that I did not follow the sketch they displayed.

sketch+from+Sandy

I followed a sketch just a different one. Long story but that is what happens when life and technology get in the way!!

The story behind this card is that I did a card a year or so ago with this image for the retirement home I do crafts at. I had left over pieces so I make them and sell my cards at work. Well I had 3 card bases with the sentiment “May the sweet song of Christmas bring joy to your heart!” already printed inside, brads and a couple pieces of cut paper but not enough to make the original card. I didn’t want to cut up more supplies to make the exact card so I set it aside. So when we got the (wrong) sketch I thought it would work for this image so I pulled out the pieces. I thought I found the perfect patterned paper for it but when I went to play with the pieces last night I decided I didn’t like it. So I pulled out the scrap drawer and found the green patterned paper and it matched perfectly. So that is how this card was made.

I used Christmas Cuties Digital Stamp from Deedee’s Digis.

Sparkling Snowflakes

Snowflakes

I needed a card with “sparkle” so I could play over at Cupcake Inspirations Challenge as they are having a 300th post Bash with a TON of prizes. There will be 3 inspiration photos….one today – Sparkle, one on Tuesday – Color and one on Thursday – Confetti. You have until the March 14th to enter the three challenges. Deedee Digis is a sponsor and her prize package is part of Color challenge so that one is a must to enter if you want to win a $25.00 gift card to Deedee’s Digis. She just put some super cute Easter digital stamps in the store.

I went looking in blog land looking for inspiration. I can’t even remember how I found Tamytha’s blog with this beautiful card but I did and it inspired my card. I think you can see I took the basic ideal of the card but also made it my own.  Yes, I fussy cut all those snowflakes out!! Not sure I will make multiple of these but I do like how it turned out. I couldn’t decided what to put on the front tag so I thought it would make a good Christmas card for a teacher. Added blue jewels in the center of the snowflakes for my “sparkle” and my card was done!

CHALLENGES:

1) Cupcake Inspirations 300th Bash Challenge – Sparkle – add sparkle to your card

2) March Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – Favorites Category – lift a card or sketch you have saved in your favorites.

3) Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge – Non-Traditional Christmas Colors. Not sure if this will count but it’s not green and red traditional colors.

4) Craftyhazelnut’s Christmas Challenge #218 – Cut it up! I cut out all the snowflakes.

Using Green on Christmas Projects

WaitingForSanta

This card was inspired by the challenge at Sparkles Christmas Challenge #50 -your creation must be mostly Green and Christmas. When I found this image, Waiting for Santa, and saw he was already wearing Green I knew it would be perfect for this challenge! I like to use pre-colored images as I’m not great with coloring. I did sneak in a little red but I think it will still count as mostly Green. The cute twine was given to me by my friend, Deedee, so it was even more perfect to pair it with one of her cute images! I used and older sketch from Sketch~N~Scrap (card sketch #16) as my inspiration which is a current sketch at the March Card Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com.

CHALLENGES:

1) Sparkles Christmas Challenge #50 – Use mostly Green and must be a Christmas card.

2) March Card Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – sketch #4

3) Completely Christmas Challenge #52 – add texture. My texture is the twine.

4) Craftyhazelnut’s Christmas Challenge #218 – Cut it up. I cut out the boy and pop dotted him on the card.

I conquered the sketch!!

Oh Holy Night

It appears Karen, the hostess for the Card Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com, really likes this sketch, Sketch-N-Scrap Card sketch #7,  because she has picked it twice now for the challenge!

aug 5th

Not only has this been inspiration on her challenge I also saw it when it was originally posted! Love the sketch but apparently it scares me and my brain freezes when I try to do it. So I never conquered it…till now!! When I saw it again as inspiration on the Card Sketch challenge I knew I had to do it. Which this time wasn’t as hard as I had the perfect digital stamp from Diane’s Daydream Designs to work with – Christmas Wonder Sentiment Set. I love how it came it. It was also quick which was good because one of my regular customers forgot to play his Christmas card order for 16 cards and needed them in 2 days. So I made 5 of these! The blue patterned paper came from a DCWV paper pack that I got free from my friend Lisa.

If you like this digital image then you must get over to Diane’s Daydream Designs as she is closing shop on Dec 30th. This is what she wrote:

Daydream Designs will be closing December 31 due to tax regulation for online digital download businesses like this one.  The foreign tax is call VAT (Value Added Tax) and it requires US businesses to assess taxes for sales in countries in the European Union.  The regulations are cumbersome, and create an impossible paper nightmare for small companies.  One way around the situation would be to limit sales to US customers only, but that would cut into nearly half of all Daydream Designs sales. That scenario makes profit impossible  and necessitate the close of our store.

Hopefully there is one small silver lining for all of us….our CLOSE OUT sale.

From now through December 30
