Sushi

Inside:
Have a rice day!
Happy Birthday!

The two sushi and front chopstick were printed out a 2nd time and then pop dotted to give it dimension.

I made this card for a friend’s friend who was turning 95 and wanted to eat sushi. She didn’t have anyone to eat sushi with her so since my husband loves sushi he volunteered! I made this card to give her at dinner. She loved it and said it was the best birthday she could ask for!

Then I had another friend that loves sushi so I made her one too!
I then had a lady see it and want one for her weekend get together with out-of-state boyfriend. They were having a sushi themed weekend.
On the inside she requested:
Are those chopsticks? or you just happy Sashimi?
He loved it and said it was going on his desk!

Sushi - Good Times Roll

In trying to come up with the first sushi card I printed out this digital paper. I didn’t end up using it for that card but thought it would make a cute card using the same sketch but making it the focus and just a sentiment. I like how this one turned out too!

Slam Dunk Thank You

Slam Dunk Thank You

Inside: Thank You!

Last month at work we were raising money for Big Brothers Big Sister. The local Police Dept (SPD) and the local Sheriff Dept (GCSD) play a basketball game every year where all the money raised goes to Big Brothers Big Sisters. Well my boss started talk crud that he could out sell me on tickets/donations to Big Brother Big Sister. So I told him it was on like Donkey Kong!! I sent an email to my family and friends and in less than 2 weeks they raised $550.00!!! Yay for family and friends!! As my SIL would say “we crushed him!” as my boss only raised $240.00. But we accomplished the main goal and that was we beat the Sheriff’s dept in raising the most money! So to thank my family and friends I made 19 of these cards to send out!

I did black and blue to represent that the local Police Dept (SPD) won!! The image is a free clip art I found on the internet. I used sketch #4 of the April Card Sketch Challenge.

Lots of Clowning Around

clowning around

Inside: Wishing you a Happy Birthday with lots of clowning around.

Our friends daughter is having her 11th birthday party tomorrow and she is having a clown theme. My husband is not excited….doesn’t like clowns…thinks they are creepy. So this has been a fun adventure for the adults too with all the jokes and videos and stuff going on about clowns!

The birthday girl asked Aunt Kathy (we adopt our friends kids!) to help design her birthday invitations. So I found clown images and she picked one and then together we design the invitation…which I forgot to take a picture so I hopes to get a picture tomorrow. Then Aunt Kathy got all the pieces together and the birthday girl put the invitations together herself! Proud Aunt moment! So this is another clown in the clown set that the birthday girl liked…. so I made it her birthday card. Then I hope to make Thank You card kits with another clown that she can make to send out to her guest. That will be part of her present as I made her a starter kit for her since she likes card making. I got her a carry bag with scissors, glue dots, scor-tape, adhesive gun, ink for inking, pop dots.

Challenges:
1) May Card Sketch Challenge @ scrapbook.com – Sketch #5
2) Seize the Birthday Challenge – topping: flowers – Make a birthday card and if you want use the topping but you don’t have to. I did flowers…clown holding some, flower brads, flower die cut.
