Masculine Plaid Cards

Grandpa Gold in his heart
A lady requested this quote for her grandpa's birthday. It was a good thing that my local scrapbook store found some very old BasicGrey papers in their storage room. They had one sheet of this so I picked it up along with some others. Good thing I did because it was perfect for this saying....at least I thought so!
I used Freshly Made Sketches 276 as my inspiration.

Several Bear cards for Father’s Day

Bear - Papa Bear

I have a girl at work that calls her dad Papa Bear and she has a standing order for Father’s Day and Birthdays. So when my friend who sales Close to my Heart had the new stamps on her blog I knew the girl at work would want this bear. So even though I don’t like stamping and coloring I bought it. Took me a WHOLE day and lots of different bears to get a few I liked. I ended up making several different cards with the bear so that was good….helped pay for it a little bit! I stamped this one with just black ink and then water colored him in with Tombow markers.

Bear - Adventures to start

You remember the baby card I made with an adventure theme. Well this is the dad’s Father’s Day card from the new born. I figured I would use the bear and go with the adventure theme again. I stamped this one with versa mark and heat embossed it before coloring it in with Tombo Markers. Did the arms different then the last bear and have a different saying.

Bear with Heart

Another lady liked the bear and wanted it holding a heart. The set comes with a stamp heart and die. I used just the die and cut it from the same blue paper to make the card. I also stamped the bear with Versa Mark and heat embossed it before coloring it in with Tombow markers.

Cow Fathers Day

So one of the girls at work needed 3 Father’s Day Cards. This dad she said like cows and was a farmer so I said I can do that! When trying to figure how to make it Father’s Day card my husband came up with the inside sentiment “Milk it for all it’s worth!” I loved the saying and so did the lady at work.

I think I might make this into a birthday card by tying balloons to it’s tail!

CHALLENGES:
1) June Inspirational Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – Favorites Category – I used Freshly Made Sketches #1. I love this sketch and have used it several times over the years.

SUPPLIES:
Digital Image: Cow are You by Deedee’s Digis (no longer in business)
Cardstock: Bazzill (Raven, lava)
Patterned Paper: cow paper found on the internet. The sentiment is on a piece of the cow paper that comes with the digital stamp.
Inks: pre-colored digital image printed on a Canon Inkjet Printer

Coolest Pop

I showed her the paper from Photo Play – This Guy Line – Keep It Handsome and she said this image was perfect. I used this card by Jody Marrow as my inspiration for the design.

I found Team Dad by Echo Park at my local scrapbooking store and thought it would be perfect for several cards. I ended up messing up one of the cards so I cut the grill out of it so I could pop dot it on top of the original image.

Super Dad

A friend had a special request for a co-worker that was trying to adopt his son. The son had called him superdad after a particular day that he was being superdad!! My friend wanted elements from the story in the image. Since I can’t draw stick figures I reached out to Mary Ellen of Dearie Dolls to see if she could/would draw the image up for me. She truly is a Dearie Doll and my angel because she drew this image just for my friends card!! And she nailed it and had everything on there (bear, diapers, baby, bottle on belt)!! When my friend gave it to his co-worker he smiled from ear to ear…and caught himself before crying. This card made his day. Thanks Mary Ellen for making several of us happy and filled with joy!! She has not put this image on her site since it was a special request BUT she stated if you emailed her asking for it she will send it to you… deariedolls@gmail.com. Just note hers does not have a goatee because my husband added it for me! I think this image is perfect for Father’s Day.

CHALLENGES:
1) May Inspirational Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – Theme category – Father’s Day or masculine card

SUPPLIES:

Digital Image: Superdad @ Free Dearie Dolls Digi Stamps

It is National Scrapbooking Day

Good Morning Crafters!! It is our day to play with paper….whether you are a scrapbooker or cardmaker or BOTH!! Any excuse to leave the dishes in the sink and go play in your room. It is for sure a “Take Out” dinner night! Unfortunately I have to work today since I changed positions at work but I did make up a card for the challenge at Deedee’s Digis!

Tool Time

Deedee decided to give you a little inspiration (excuse) to play in your craft room by having a challenge that starts today and runs till next Saturday, 05/09/2015. All you have to do is “lift” (or CASE) one of the inspiration pieces in the post. You can make a scrapbook page or a card! And you can get your inspiration from a scrapbook page or a card as the DT have done both for this challenge. Here is a sample of what I mean…..Faith made this scrapbook page

Spring garden-Faith-scrapbookpage

and I lifted it with my card above….do you see where I got my inspiration? I went with the layout (3 columns) and four separate images down the middle section. Other ways to lift are by doing the theme (garden or use same digi), color scheme, style, etc. I sure do hope you will come play with us! I love to see people lift projects as you never know what will inspire people.

CHALLENGES:

1) C.R.A.F.T. Challenge #309 – Add a charm/use metal. I didn’t use a charm but I do have metal so I hope it counts.

2) May Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – Product: Brads. The screws are brads. (I love brads and have more than I could ever use!!)

3) 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge #244– Anything Goes

4) Penny’s Paper-Crafty Challenge #225 – anything but a square card. I made a 5 x 7 rectangle card to show off the cute digis.

5) Cute Card Thursday Challenge #371 – Use a Sentiment.

SUPPLIES:

Digital Image: Tool Time @ Deedee’s Digis

Cardstock: Bazzill (Ash, Candle, Red Devil)

Inks: pre-colored digital image printed on Canon Inkjet Printer

Accents/Tools: Darice embossing folder (brick wall), screw shape brads, pop dots

Technique: “Lifting” (also called CASE)

Here is the one for his Birthday this week:

A WOW packed released at Clearly Digi Stamps!

Good Morning.

Today is a SUPER COOL day because my husband, Patrick, is releasing his first digital stamps! So that means I have a lot to post today since I will be making samples with his digital stamps! Plus I STILL had to play with the other digital stamps because they just are too darn cute not too! So I will try to keep the chatting to a minimal so this post isn’t a mile long!!

And the other AWESOME news is the new Clearly Digi Stamp store is finally up and running!! So come check it out I think you will like it!! **The old store will take you to the new store but if you want the address it is www.cdstamps.com

If you played in the all day challenge at Clearly iStamp or you stopped by to see what all the excitement was about then you would have seen this card already. But had to post it again because I like it a lot and it’s a digital stamp from my husband, Patrick. This is one dragon that you will get in the set called Dragons. I’m so lucky to have a talented husband that draws and a wonderful friend, Stephanine, that is amazing at sentiments for cards! They make my job a lot easier! I just love love love how this card turned out. It was all based off the wonderful sentiment. The sentiment isn’t included in the digital stamp but feel free to use it…..I just printed it out in word.

Soar on Birthday3_dramigos

Since we are on the topic of Dragons check out this one, Knight Marshmallow Roast, as by Patrick. This is another sentiment that Stephanine (my nick name for her!) came up with!! I love that girl!

This image is perfect for Father’s Day, Birthdays or just a Hello or Encouraging card for someone in the military. Patrick hopes to have a series of these as we already have a request for a tank and Navy guy. If you have any request let me know. This is Soldier Tom, named after my step-dad who was in the army.

Happy Fathers Day-soldier

Soldier_single

Now here is some inspiration from digital stamps for two other AWESOME designers we have on the team. I am truly blessed to be able to play with all these images.

This is Asian Plants from Laurie Wilson. I’m so happy with how this card turned out! Thanks Laurie for giving us such great images to work with.

1) Sentimental Sundays#154 – For a Special Woman

Austin made this cute image and asked for help with sentiments….so of course I go to Stephanie and this is what she comes up with! Of course we are laughing but I send it to Austin anyway and apparently laughter is contagious because Austin got a kick out of it too! So she decided to include it in her stamp set, Elephants and Umbrellas.
