Rainbows, unicorns and scraps of cardstock!

In 2020 I made mother's day cards using strips of cardstock. I did this because I needed a rainbow inspired card for a mother that loves rainbows! Since then I have made several different cards with the same concept.

In February 2021 I made these for a couple orders:
SUPPLIES:
Metal Dies: Sizzix (Stephanie Barnard -Stars), Stampin' Up (Stitched Stars), Creative Expressions (Happy Birthday CEDSS009)
Embossing Folder: Darice (stars assorted)
In September 2021 I made these:
The small note card "Yay" (yay is in black) was for a young girl starting 6th grade. It was to encourage to have fun and enjoy the 6th grade.
SUPPLIES:
Metal Die: Concord and 9th (Yay Dies #10373), Sizzix (Stephanie Barnard -Stars), Stampin' Up (Stitched Stars), Creative Expressions (Happy Birthday CEDSS009)
In November a friend of mind needed a unicorn or rainbow card for her granddaughter so I made these using both! She picked the pink and blue one! The unicorn given to me by my friend Ro!! Thanks Ro!

Standing order for Mother’s Day

I have been making some of the guys at work cards for their mom’s and wives for several years. This is one of my longest customers and every Mother’s Day he gets a card for his grandma (flamingos), Mom (cactus, old west), wife (sunflowers) and step-mom (garden, flowers, old trucks). So this is this years cards….

I original made this one for a guy who wanted a “bright happy sunflower” card to encourage someone. Sunflowers usually have darker colors to it because of the darker yellow Sunflowers are. But he wanted a brighter yellow so this is what I came up with. Hope he likes it! I used Sketch~N~Scrap World Card Making Day 2019 sketch #4 as my inspiration.  I found a color scheme on the internet and then modified it a little.

Bright Sunflower

SUPPLIES:
Cardstock: Bazzill (Blue Oases, Atlantic, African Daisy, Hillary), AC Cardstock (Taffy)
Metal Dies: Spellbinders (Create a Sunflower)
Accents/Tools: Darice Embossing Folder (wire fence), Doodlebug Sprinkles (Birthday girl)

So I had bought some sunflower stickers and made this version for the wife that loves sunflowers! (I have been making her cards since she was the girlfriend!)

Bright Sunflower sticker
Cactus Mothers Day

This card was inspired by one of Karen’s (TexasMomOf4) cards that we are lifting as part of the May 2020 Inspirational Card Challenge.

This is not showing up very well in the photograph on here. I promise it looks way better in real life. It is a different style for me but I think I like it. When I started putting the plants on the popped up piece I had to hang them off to make them fit. I liked the look and realized Karen’s had a little hanging off too. Thanks Karen for the inspiration!

P.S. – the background is paper that comes in the paper pack.

Happy Mothers Day flowers

This was for his step-mom and was also one of my popular Mother’s Day cards this year. The flower was cut from a patterned paper in a paper pad. The patterned paper also came from the same paper pad. Added some cardstock, twine and cute sketch and the card was done! I used the Sketch~n~Scrap Sketch #165 for my inspiration.

Well goodness! I forgot to keep posting cards! Before I get to Mother’s Day cards I better post the rest of Easter 2020.

Coloring Eggs - outside
Coloring Eggs - inside

As I was working on Easter Cards I saw this photo journaling card and got to thinking about how I could turn into a Easter Card. I came up with the ideal to add the dots and the rest of the sentiment. I had my friend make it sound good and this was the finished product. I came up with this ideal because I like the fun part of Easter but also remember that Jesus is the reason for Easter. I sent this to my new adopted Niece and Nephews and they loved it!

April Inspirational Card Challenge – Inspirational Photo – I went with the Easter theme and the eggs.

Used Create with Connie & Mary Sketch #602 for my inspiration.

SUPPLIES:
Cardstock: Bazzill (Blue Oasis)
Patterned Paper and Journaling Photo Card: Doodlebug (Bunnyville)
Accents/Tools: pop dots, Queen & Co pink dots

Easter Chic on Eggs

One of the ladies wanted a card for her dad that is into gardening and native Nebraska flowers. So I learned that the daisy is a native Nebraska flower! So I added the flowers to the journaling photo card and then used Sketch #594 at Cards with Connie & Mary (I flipped it).

I made two cards so I decided to give one to my friend Dale.

April Inspirational Card Challenge – Product – patterned paper.

SUPPLIES:
Cardstock: Bazzill (Blue Oasis, American Poppy, Intense Kiwi)
Patterned Paper and photo card: Doodlebug (Bunnyville)
Accents/Tools: Doodlebug Sprinkles (spring), SVG daisy cut file

Happy Easter Egg

So I make cards for a guy at work and then I also make cards for his mother. I made Easter cards for the mother to give to her friends and son (watercolor paper cross card). Then I made this card for the son to give to his mother (parents). She wrote me today and said she loved it! The mom likes flowers so when I saw the journaling photo card I knew to pair it with this bright happy flower paper! I cut down the journaling card and put the dotted frame around it. I used Create with Connie & Mary Sketch #598 as my inspiration. I used a flower punch to add to the strip below the egg. Because some of the journaling photo cards are big I bought 6 1/4 x 6 1/4 envelopes so this card is 6 x 6. It’s big but not too big.

I made 2 of these and sent one of these to my Aunt Barb! Happy Mail!!

He is Risen - all three

I needed a card for a lady to give her son. So he got the green/yellow one since that was more manly. I used an older image from Clearly Digi Stamps (no longer in business). Since I’m not good with inks and watercolor I used paper that was already done for me!!

A lady at work has an elderly friend that loves penguins. So this is the 2nd year she has requested a box card set to give her friend as a gift (then her friend will have 5 cards to hand out next year). I make the cards flat so it is easier for her mail. I used Tuesday Morning Sketches #328 as my inspiration. She gets 5 cards and 5 envelopes in the handmade box (see next photo).

‘Tis the Season…for Ugly Sweaters

chiefs-ugly-sweater-christmas

My co-workers and I decided to go in together and get my boss a gift card so I needed to make him a card for all of us to sign. You can’t buy a card when they know you are a card maker!! He is into woodworking so I got cool wood snowflakes, tags and wording that I was going to use to make his card. Well, it was suggested that he is a big Kansas City Chiefs fan so a Chiefs Christmas card would be perfect. So I went searching the internet and came across this ugly sweater photograph. I printed it out on Bazzill white and cut it out. I then Pop dotted it to give it dimension. I used Atlantic Heart Sketch #185 as my inspiration.

Graduation

I needed a card for a friend who graduated college while working full time and raising a family. Very proud of him! So I used the sketch from the card challenge and made this whole card out of scraps!! Now that I’m looking at it I should of tilted the the top circle on the bottom so it would look like the hat was falling…oh well will do if I make another card! I got to use a brand new embossing template that I got a couple months ago when they were on sale at JoAnns.
