For some reason I thought this was one of the February flowers but apparently it’s not since it is a Pansy and not a violet. But it’s purple! Any who a lady needed a birthday card for her friend whose birthday is on Valentine’s Day. Decided to not go Valentine theme like a did a couple years ago. She likes flowers so thought it would work for a February Birthday. I added pearls to the cup so I decided to add pearls to the corners….not sure I like them….will look at it in the morning again!

One of my regular customers needed a birthday card for her daughter. Her daughter loves to cook. So I decided to do a recipe theme. There weren’t a lot of ideals out there and mostly were for birthday invitations. So I took some bits and pieces from some cards on the internet then added my own ingredients (ideals came from the mom on how they celebrate birthdays) to make a personalized birthday card!
The “lift category” this month in the April Inspirational Card Challenge @ scrapbook.com is to lift Cardiographer!! She is one of my favorites and is a friend of mine. She loves Doodlebug (so do I…friendship at first sight!) and she ROCKS it!! I keep telling her she needs to try out for their design team! Even though I did not “lift” a card of hers I “lifted” the use of Doodlebug which doesn’t count for the challenge but I least made a cute card!! Her cards are cuter but I tried! I fussy cut the presents out of some paper. And used a die cut to make the balloons. The recipe card was from Deedee’s Digis (no longer in business but she has some freebies on her site Papercraft Romance.)

One of the ladies at work wanted a card for her almost 1 yoa granddaughter to give her 16 yoa uncle (ladies son) for Valentine’s Day. She asked for that saying to be on the card. I decided to put it on the outside of the card and put Happy Valentine’s Day on the inside. I used the fish and rock scene from Diver Daniel Digital Stamp from Deedee’s Digis (no longer in business but she does have a blog she offers some of her images).
I was looking through my sketches trying to find something that would work with several fishes and one of them going the opposite direction. I decided to use Feeling Sketchy #162 as my inspiration. I flipped the elements so the cluster was on the right and the single fish was on the left. Instead of banners I used the rock image. I also flipped the elements upside down. She loved it when I gave it to her yesterday!

I wanted to make a sample and play along so I started looking through Deedee’s Digis Christmas images because I need one more religious card for this year. When I saw the Wise Men Digital Image I thought it could work with this sketch. In my mind the words would take the place of the other stars. I had just bought a new size of envelope for money cards but thought the size would work for this too…the size of the card is 3 1/2 x 7 1/4. I never got the card done in time for the challenge but I did get it done in time for some orders I had! I was very thankful because the 3rd customer saw an error I had in my scripture so I only had to fix 5 cards…very thankful!

Happy December! It’s a brand new month, and what better way to celebrate than with a blog hop?!? This hop is a little different than our usual. This month Deedee’s Digis is proudly sponsoring the quarterly blog hop at the House of Cards challenge blog, where all of their hop creations are centered around this lovely inspiration photo.
If you participate in their hop, you could win one of several prizes from a variety of sponsors. But we thought, why not make it a true PARTY and offer you a TANDEM HOP?!?
So here’s how OUR hop works:
Based on the same inspiration photo, some of our designers have created projects to inspire you.
You have until 11:55 PM Pacific Time this Saturday, December 5, to visit our participating designers’ blogs and leave them some love.
At the end of our hop, each participating designer will choose a winner from the comments left on their hop post, and each winner will receive one digi set of their choice from our shop.
All winners will be announced on Deedee’s Digis Blog on Monday, December 7th.
Sound like fun? But wait — there’s more!!! When you’ve completed the hop, be sure to stop back on Deedee’s Digis Blog and leave a comment to tell us so. Those who do will be entered to win our grand prize of a $15 gift code to the shop.
Last but not least, no Deedee’s Digis blog hop would be complete without a FREEBIE to kick it off. Our new “Gift of Love” digi set is available to download for FREE in the “Try Before You Buy” area of our shop through December 6.
I decided to play with the brand new image that you can get FREE until Dec 5th….it is in the Try Before You Buy Section.
This card is almost all SCRAPS!! Trying to use up all the supplies just sitting around collecting dust! The embossed piece was left over from a wedding I did a couple years ago. My new printer is printing darker then what the image appears so that is why I used these colors compared to what you see in the store. I like how it came out!! I used the sketch at Try Stampin’ On Tuesday Challenge #246.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! Make sure to leave me a comment to be entered into a drawing to win One FREE Digi from Deedee’s Digis. The next blog on the hop is Marji’s Blog.
P.S. – don’t forget to leave a comment on Deedee’s Blog for a chance to win a $15.00 gift code to the store!!

The challenge at Outlawz CAS Challenge this week is “favorite drink” but must keep your card Clean and Simple. Well, as you most know by now Clean and Simple is not my thing. But I wanted to play along and use one of Deedee’s Digis new stamps Drink it Up! So I went to the internet for inspiration on cards with drinks. I found some funny sayings but not what I wanted. Since Pepsi is my favorite drink I started looking up Pepsi quotes. And that is when I ran across a Valentine ideal where someone wrote “I think you’re Soda Amazing” on a 2 liter of Pepsi. I thought that would be perfect for my card. There is pre-c0lored image that could pass as coffee or soda but I asked my husband to make it look more like soda so he added bubbles! I think he did a pretty good job. I then went back to the internet to find inspiration in the Clean and Simple category. I found this card HERE and used it as my inspiration.
CHALLENGES:
1) July Card Challenge @ scrapbook.com – Favorites – Recreate a card or sketch you’ve saved in your favorites either on this site, a blog, or Pinterest.
Penny’s Paper-Crafty Challenge this week is Anything Goes. So I first made the birthday card for a friends brother in-law and decided it fit my father-in-law so I made him one too!
Then I decided to make a card for the Word Art Wednesday Challenge so I will share it at Penny’s Paper-Crafty Challenge also.
There is free Word Art of this scripture on the blog but it didn’t fit the space I had since it was more of horizontal sentiment. So I tried to mimic what she did and made it vertical. When I saw this scripture it made me think of this digital image by Deedee’s Digis so that is why I went with it.
