Stay Calm and Buy Shoes!!!

Oh mother nature has rained havic on my day! I have had no internet at the house since yesterday! Which is totally NOT cool when Clearly iStamp is having their monthly blog hop! So I hope to have my card up shortly.

I hope you came from Dee’s Blog – Dee’s Design Blog

The theme this month is STAY CALM AND _____________ (Fill in the blank). Well, I have seen this saying everywhere but had no clue where it came from or the meaning behind it. So I googled it and discovered that basically now it can be used for anything and is just a marketing tool.

So I made this card with my friend in mind who loves high heel shoes! I used the digital image Walk by Faith.

Bird - Trust in the Lord

God is amazing. Here I was sick the past two days unable to craft projects that are now due. So I start panicking about how I’m going to get them done….so my solution is combine things…DT project with a get well card for a lady at church and so on. Well, should I work on this one or that one….which ones should be combined….can I work in some challenges. The devil loves to put those thoughts in my head because then I become overwhelmed and I have no creativity. Then I panic and go into “self” mode….ways to get it done in MY own power instead of relying on God.  So I finally decided on the bird image and this verse. This card wasn’t for someone in particular at this moment but knew it would be good to have on hand especially for the Card Ministry at Church. I read several scriptures from Clearly Digi Stamps (she is a Christian company and has lots to chose from) but God said “use this one”. So I printed it off and got to work.

It wasn’t till I was almost done and re-read it that it hit me this was PERFECT for a challenge I wanted to play in but didn’t think I had time to….because I can’t play for fun when I have DT projects due. So then I was in a dilemma again….do I play in the challenge at Word Art Wednesday or do I save it for my DT project? God told me to play and trust him….he has something else in mind for the DT project.  This card was made so I would TRUST in his plan that he has for me and STOP trying to do it MY WAY and IN MY OWN power. The funny thing is the verse is about TRUST and so is the challenge at Word Art Wednesday. Don’t you just love how God will meet us where we are at and get through to us even if it is in a crafty way….card making.

So this card is for the challenge but most importantly it is a reminder for me to TRUST in him for everything…even design team projects!

Come back Wednesday to see what God wanted me to make for the challenge at For Fun Challenge.

Garden of Life Digital Stamps

Woo hoo!! It’s digital stamp release day at Clear Dollar Stamps!  Once I became a designed team member I learned I’m not as patient as I thought as was!! I have been dying to show all my friends in blog land these cools images that I got to play with.  The first one I got to play with was the Colored Garden of Life stamps. The cool thing about these is that they come with matching paper and the images are already colored for you so all you have to do is print them out and get to playing!! This card was so easy and fun to make! The main flower was cut out and pop dotted on to give it dimension. The design was based on 2008 Page Maps card sketch.

Check out the other Design Team Members that used the Colored and Non-colored Garden of Life Stamps:

Flower of the Month – April – Daisy

When I first saw this stamp I knew I wanted to make it into a wedding card for my Father-in-law that got married last week. Unfortunately I didn’t get it done in time so I guess some other lucky bride and groom will get this card! I love that I don’t always have to follow exactly what a Stamps was made for….taking April’s Flower and turning it into a wedding card! How cool is that?! Just think of all the different types of cards you can make with ONE stamp. Plus, it is a digital stamp so you can make it any size you want! Got to love it!
