I didn’t forget your birthday…

I didnt Forget Birthday

Inside: I keep thinking it’s in July.

So Karen is hosting the Inspirational Card Challenge this month at Scrapbook.com and the Bonus Category is – Make a card for a belated birthday (7/2/16 – National I Forgot Day). As soon as I saw this I thought “did I forget again?” and got out my address book that has a birthday calendar in it. Yep, my step-mother-in-law’s birthday was in June not July. But to my defense I really thought it was in July. See we missed it last year but we really did just miss it last year. This year I was thinking about it and even looked and got in my head that I didn’t have birthday cards to make in June but had hers in July. So I tried to explain to her that she gets to celebrate the same birthday twice so it’s a bonus for her!! She laughed!! But also to my defense I do this with several people. If you remember last year I had to mail a card to my BFF (yes, best friend) EVERY month just so I would remember to put her card in the mail BEFORE her birthday…it worked!! And my best friend from 6th grade I still think her birthday is 9/23 when it is actually 9/22 so I also call her a day late. I have issues!! But it came in perfect timing for Karen’s challenge! Thanks Karen for helping a girl out!!

So in searching for ideals (cause my husband came up with a real cute one last year when we screwed up) I wasn’t sure what to do for this year. Well I saw a card with this saying and an elephant on it. When I read the outside of that card  the saying for the inside of my card came to me so I knew it was meant to be. I remembered Deedee’s Digis (no longer in business) had a cute elephant about not forgetting. Then I had tons of scraps that my friend left for me after helping her make signs for a wedding. Everything on this card is from scraps!!

All My Heart

I’m the craft lady at a local retirement home and I do one craft a month with them. I usually do some sort of door/window hanger because they like decorating their doors for each holiday/season. So yesterday this is what we made and now they have a door hanger for the month of February.

Cat with hearts Elephant with hearts Seal with hearts Dog with hearts

The dogs and seals were the most popular! Everyone seemed to enjoy making them so that was good.

This would be cute to fill with Valentine goodies of all sorts (socks, pencils, candy, toys, etc) and hang on your kids bedroom door! Wouldn’t that be a nice surprise to wake up to or come home from school and have waiting for you!

To make the box I followed an old tutorial I did at Clearly iStamp (I just left the lid off of it and hung it from ribbon instead)….go HERE! It is super easy with a few score lines and cuts and you can make an easy box.

CHALLENGES:

1) Pile it on Challenge #4 – Animals

2) Simply Create Too Challenge #53 – Valentine Day or use hearts. I did both!

3) Sentimental Sundays Challenge #191 – Lovey Dovey

Doodle Pantry is sponsoring Digi Sketch Challenge

I hope you will come play in the Digi Sketch Challenge because Doodle Pantry is sponsoring it!! So you have a chance to win awesome Doodle Pantry Digital Images!!

TallTrio Baby Elephant

I needed a baby card for a surprise baby shower we just had for one of my co-workers. Her theme was Animals so it was perfect for the challenge at Digi Sketch Challenge which is ANIMALS! I chose to use the Tall Trio Digital Image that was just re-released this month (it was previously sold at CDS).

I used the Mojo Monday Sketch #225. You can’t see it very well but the elephant is pop dotted on top of the elephant image printed on the white block.  I ran the blue and green rectangles through an embossing folder. It looked more “babyish” to me with the dots on the cardstock.

CHALLENGES:

1) Card Crafter’s Circle Challenge #99 – Cute Cards.

SUPPLIES:

Digital Image: Tall Trio Digital Image @ Doodle Pantry

Cardstock: Bazzill

Inks: pre-colored digital image printed on Canon Inkjet Printer

Accents/Tools: pop dots

Lift the person before you challenge!!

Oh you have to come play with us at Clearly iStamp Blog Challenge. We are “challenging” you to “lift the person before you”.

I got the ideal for this challenge on Scrapbook.com so I hope I can pull it off here on a blog. We will at least give it our best shot, right!!?  “Lift” means you take something from the project (colors, theme, image, layout, element, etc) and base your card on that. Go check out the blog it will explain it all there!!

I lifted Debbie’s card Elephant Hello!  I love how this card came out! I merged two images together to make the elephant hold flowers….I was pretty impressed with myself!!  I used the Sketch Saturday Sketch #269 for my inspiration. I forgot to round the corners!! Darn it.

Good Morning.

Today is a SUPER COOL day because my husband, Patrick, is releasing his first digital stamps! So that means I have a lot to post today since I will be making samples with his digital stamps! Plus I STILL had to play with the other digital stamps because they just are too darn cute not too! So I will try to keep the chatting to a minimal so this post isn’t a mile long!!

And the other AWESOME news is the new Clearly Digi Stamp store is finally up and running!! So come check it out I think you will like it!! **The old store will take you to the new store but if you want the address it is www.cdstamps.com

If you played in the all day challenge at Clearly iStamp or you stopped by to see what all the excitement was about then you would have seen this card already. But had to post it again because I like it a lot and it’s a digital stamp from my husband, Patrick. This is one dragon that you will get in the set called Dragons. I’m so lucky to have a talented husband that draws and a wonderful friend, Stephanine, that is amazing at sentiments for cards! They make my job a lot easier! I just love love love how this card turned out. It was all based off the wonderful sentiment. The sentiment isn’t included in the digital stamp but feel free to use it…..I just printed it out in word.

Since we are on the topic of Dragons check out this one, Knight Marshmallow Roast, as by Patrick. This is another sentiment that Stephanine (my nick name for her!) came up with!! I love that girl!

This image is perfect for Father’s Day, Birthdays or just a Hello or Encouraging card for someone in the military. Patrick hopes to have a series of these as we already have a request for a tank and Navy guy. If you have any request let me know. This is Soldier Tom, named after my step-dad who was in the army.

Happy Fathers Day-soldier

Now here is some inspiration from digital stamps for two other AWESOME designers we have on the team. I am truly blessed to be able to play with all these images.

This is Asian Plants from Laurie Wilson. I’m so happy with how this card turned out! Thanks Laurie for giving us such great images to work with.

1) Sentimental Sundays#154 – For a Special Woman

Austin made this cute image and asked for help with sentiments….so of course I go to Stephanie and this is what she comes up with! Of course we are laughing but I send it to Austin anyway and apparently laughter is contagious because Austin got a kick out of it too! So she decided to include it in her stamp set, Elephants and Umbrellas.

May Digital Stamp Release!

It is the 15th of the month so it is time to show off the new digital stamps from Clear Dollar Stamps!

The first one I used was Ice Cream Social Digital Stamps. I used the outline version and paper pieced it using patterned paper and cardstock. To get the look of the cone I scored it on my scor-pal horizontal and then vertical. Love how it turned out.

CHALLENGES:

1) The Pink Elephant Challenge #148 (TPE148) – Polka Dots & Stripes

The second digital stamp I played with was Classic Tools Digital Stamp. I went a different direction with this stamp. Instead of doing a manly card I turned the tools into a “girly” card. I made the card to look like an apron with “Silly Boys” on the outside and the inside say “tools are for girls!”

And the last stamp I got to play with was Patchpal Elephant Digital Stamp.

CHALLENGES:

1) Totally Paper Crafts Challenge #116 – No Pesky Girls Allowed.   Yip, my favourite (I hate doing girly cards!!) So we want to see cards for the men in your lives.

Well, not actually a man card but it is a boy card. Hope it works.

2) Stampin’ Sisters in Christ Challenge #139Use any type of animal, bird or bug in your creation
