Gift Cards and Money Holders

In October I made a gift card holder so when I sold my cards at our work bazaar I placed them out and let people know I could make different ones since I ran out of time to have several designs displayed. I got orders….so I had to make up more!! I also had a lady ask if I could do money cards so I told her yes, so I had to make those up too. Now money cards were a little tricky finding a size that looked right for money and then finding envelopes. I got my inspiration from this blog but she used Stampin’ Up envelopes that I believe are discontinued as I couldn’t find them in a current catalog.  I figured out what size I needed it to be around and after searching the internet I found 3 7/8 x 7 1/2 envelopes at envelopesexpress.com so the finished card is 3 1/2 x 7 1/4.

I started with the gift cards holders since I already had one made for the order (the deer I made in October). She also wanted the cat image I made a card with and then an ice skater. I was excited about the ice skater as I bought this image, Bella Ice Skate, by Kristi Dailey several years ago and have never had the time to use it. She said the girls hair was between a blond and light brown so I did both and she chose the blond! The original gift card holder ideal I got my inspiration from was at Dawn’s Stamping Thoughts.

The lady who wanted the money orders wasn’t exactly sure what images she wanted so I made up an ice skater and the reindeer and sent her photos.

I used I {heart} Sketches #101 as my inspiration.

Here is what the inside looks like:

Send a Smile 4 Kids

Birthdays like Purses Deedee’s Digis is the sponsor of Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge this week and the challenge is to make a card for a female from a child. I decided to make female birthday card using the new digi, In the Bag. I printed off the purses on scratch paper and then went through my scrap drawers. This patterned paper match this purse perfectly so I went with it. I liked the diagonal stripes as it was sophisticated but not too grown up! The sentiment inside, “The more you have the harder it is to find your keys!” comes with the digi too. DAInTheBagPROMO

You have until Friday April 17th at noon CST to enter this challenge. After you do, please consider sending in your card(s) to cheer a child who is inpatient in one of our thirteen children’s hospitals. All the information you need is under the tabs at the top of the blog.

Mother's Day Frame

I wanted to make a sample for the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 Challenge #49 since Deedee’s Digis is the sponsor this week. Well when I was looking for images to use with this sketch the Digi of the Month stamp – Blooming Blessing just seemed perfect.

DABloomingBlessingsPROMO

Some of my ink in the printer is running low so I think my colors are off but when I went looking for paper to match I found the perfect one!! Okay it is only 10 years old but once I wiped the dust off it was ready to be used! I changed the black outline to brown and changed the green a little and then it was ready to go. I think it turned out pretty darn cute!

If you did not play in the Digi of the Month Challenge last month you can jump in by buying the above digi for ONLY $1.25 this month. Make a card and next month’s image will be FREE.

CoffeeCupGreetings2

I needed a birthday card for my Sister-in-law. She likes hot tea and coffee so I thought this image, Coffee Cup Greetings, at Deedee’s Digis was perfect. I liked the color challenge at Cupcake Inspiration this week but didn’t get it linked up before it closed. I used the I {heart} sketch #101 as my inspiration. I liked it but it didn’t look like my sister-in-law at all so I made a second card that was more her colors and style.
