Standing order for Mother’s Day

I have been making some of the guys at work cards for their mom’s and wives for several years. This is one of my longest customers and every Mother’s Day he gets a card for his grandma (flamingos), Mom (cactus, old west), wife (sunflowers) and step-mom (garden, flowers, old trucks). So this is this years cards….

I original made this one for a guy who wanted a “bright happy sunflower” card to encourage someone. Sunflowers usually have darker colors to it because of the darker yellow Sunflowers are. But he wanted a brighter yellow so this is what I came up with. Hope he likes it! I used Sketch~N~Scrap World Card Making Day 2019 sketch #4 as my inspiration.  I found a color scheme on the internet and then modified it a little.

Bright Sunflower

SUPPLIES:
Cardstock: Bazzill (Blue Oases, Atlantic, African Daisy, Hillary), AC Cardstock (Taffy)
Metal Dies: Spellbinders (Create a Sunflower)
Accents/Tools: Darice Embossing Folder (wire fence), Doodlebug Sprinkles (Birthday girl)

So I had bought some sunflower stickers and made this version for the wife that loves sunflowers! (I have been making her cards since she was the girlfriend!)

Cactus Mothers Day

This card was inspired by one of Karen’s (TexasMomOf4) cards that we are lifting as part of the May 2020 Inspirational Card Challenge.

This is not showing up very well in the photograph on here. I promise it looks way better in real life. It is a different style for me but I think I like it. When I started putting the plants on the popped up piece I had to hang them off to make them fit. I liked the look and realized Karen’s had a little hanging off too. Thanks Karen for the inspiration!

P.S. – the background is paper that comes in the paper pack.

Flamingo Mothers Day

His grandma gets a flamingo Mother’s Day and Christmas card every year. So this is paper from the same line I made her card in 2014. I used Atlantic Hearts Sketch #361 as my inspiration.

SUPPLIES:
Cardstock: Bazzill (Flamingo, Hillary)
Patterned Paper: Carta Bella (Summer Lovin’)
Accents/Tools: Scallop punch

Happy Mothers Day flowers

This was for his step-mom and was also one of my popular Mother’s Day cards this year. The flower was cut from a patterned paper in a paper pad. The patterned paper also came from the same paper pad. Added some cardstock, twine and cute sketch and the card was done! I used the Sketch~n~Scrap Sketch #165 for my inspiration.

Flamingo Mother's Day

I have to do a flamingo card for a co-workers grandmother every year. This is her 2019 Mother’s Day card. I had to use less lighting for the photo to show the 3 embossed lines on the left. Used sketch #5 from the April Card Sketch Challenge. I made the card horizontal instead of vertical. Also for the April Inspirational Card Challenge – bonus – mother’s Day.

SUPPLIES:
Digital Image: Endless Summer from Digi Web Studio (no longer available)
Cardstock: Bazzill (Flamingo, Lagoon)
Accents/Tools: Kaiserscrapbook rhinestone (island lagoon), Stampin Up (Seaside embossing folder), scor-pal

Flamingo Mothers Day

I realized I did not post any of my Mother’s Day cards for 2018. This was the grandmother’s 2018 Mother’s Day Card. I cut an extra flower spray and pop dotted it on top of the flamingo for dimension.

SUPPLIES:

Cardstock: Bazzill (Berry Sensation, White), American Crafts (butterscotch)

Accents/Tools: 1/16 EK Success pop dots, Martha Stewart Edge punch

You are fabulous.JPG

I needed a flamingo Mother’s Day card for a grandma. I have been making her cards for the past 4-5 years and she always gets a flamingo. I tried to use sketch #3 of the Card Sketch Challenge but the flamingo was too big so it didn’t come out looking like the sketch too much. But it was my inspiration. I used foil paper in the background and cut the words out of gold paper.

1) May Inspirational Card Challenge – Product: foil
2) May Card Sketch Challenge -sketch #3 – original Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #240.

This year I picked the color category for the Card Inspirational card challenge with her in mind. I then used a card from Cardiographer and one from Simon Says Stamp Blog as my inspiration.
I also got to use new goodies I had just ordered after being influenced on here that I needed these goodies!

Have a Flappy Christmas!

Flappy Christmas

I have been so busy with making cards for my Christmas orders that I didn’t even have time to post. I was thankful when I finished my last card last week but then I chilled for a couple days before getting my niece for a couple days so today is the first day I had time to sent down in front of the computer.

This card was made for the 52 {Christmas} Card throwdown challenge that ended on Dec 19th. But now I’m using it to tell you all of the sad news that Deedee’s Digis is closing shop Jan 31st. The new VAT tax law that goes into effect on Jan 1st is putting a lot of small digital companies out of business. The law was intended for big stores that sell games and digi downloads but they did make any exceptions for the little artist selling stamps for fun. If you haven’t heard about this read up on it…it is horrible for the small business. They would have to hire an accountant just to deal with sells to VAT countries…not feasible when you sell a digi stamp for $3.  So if you live in a VAT country and want ANY digi stamps you need to get out there and buy them before Dec 31st. There are several digi companies that will not be able to sell to VAT countries after Dec 31st even though they are keeping their doors open.

Deedee’s Digis is having a 75% off Store Closing Sale…check it out. Everything is under a $1.00. You can get a lot of cute digis for a little money right now.

I used Sketch -N- Scrap Card Sketch #39 for my inspiration. The sentiment inside says “Wishing you a Flappy Christmas”. My husband came up with “Wishing you a Flappy Holiday” but by the time I got to my computer I had accidentally switched it to Christmas.

SUPPLIES:

Digital Image: Pink Christmas @ Deedee’s Digis

Cardstock: Bazzill

Patterned Paper: from my stash

Accent/Tools: Cricut, Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge, pop dots

Warm Weather Christmas!

One of the guys at work has a grandma that loves flamingo’s and a mom that lives in Texas and likes southwest themes so these two images from Doodle Pantry were perfect for their Christmas Cards. He pretty much has a standing order for Christmas, Birthdays and Mother’s Days.

For the Flamingo card I used Fancy Flamingo and Santa Accessories. I got the ideal from Pat Dadisman’s card under the samples of Fancy Flamingo. I used Sketch n Scrap #16 for my inspiration. My husband added the hat to the flamingo in photoshop for me!

How do Flamingos get so pretty and pink!

A brand new challenge at Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges! The Question is:How do Flamingos get so pretty and PINK?

The challenge was to either use Flamingos and/or Pink. I did both! Clear Dollar Stamps is sponsoring this months worth of challenges at Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges so I couldn’t resist playing. I think CDS has one of the cutest Flamingos out there….plus check out that super cute paper you get with the digital stamp! Got to love that. The sentiment is from Hambo Stamps. I ordered the stamp but I needed it to be long across the card so I just changed it on the computer.

Design inspiration came from The Pink Elephant Challenge 159 (TPE159)

CHALLENGES:
