Raccoon inspired cards

Racoon - Be Happy

I had a request from a lady who wanted a birthday card for her niece that was in her 20’s. One of the things she liked was raccoons so I decided this image from Gerda Steiner was perfect. The lady requested “be happy” on the sign.

April Inspirational Card Challenge – Theme – Birthday

SUPPLIES:
Digital Image: Racoon Digital StampGerda Steiner Stamps.
Cardstock: Bazzill (parakeet, brown, starmist, african daisy)
Metal Dies: Spellbinders (Suns and clouds), Joy crafts (clouds), io dies (tiny flowers)
Accents/tools: Nuvo drops (Ivory seashell), pop dots
Colors: digital stamp colored in Photoshop by my husband.

I then decided this would be the perfect card to send to a nursing home in Texas asking for cards during the quarantine.

Racoon - Happy Thoughts

The guys at work told me to take a day off since it has been a stressful month. They told me to make cards or something. Well that night I saw a post where a retirement/nursing home in Texas wanted cards sent to the residents. So I told them I made this so they all they had to sign it!! What was funny was that I didn’t bring in right away and they even asked me where the card was for the “nursing home!!” They try to be tough but they have soft hearts!!

I just changed the sign to “Sending Happy Thoughts” to make it a thinking of you from Missouri card.

Cat With Sign – Birthday

Cat Sign Birthday

So I needed a card for my co-workers wife and my niece. They both like cats so I went looking in my images and found this digital stamp (also comes in a clear stamp) from Gerda Steiner (Cat Holding Sign). My co-worker got deployed at the end of Dec and his wife turned 30 this month. I know it has to be hard without her husband so I’m going to send the card with a small gift certificate to get some local Andy’s Custard!
On my niece’s card I will place her name on the sign instead of the age. Found the patterned paper in a workout paper pad from Michael’s (Craft Smith)….trying to use up some stuff on hand.

I used sketch #3 from the Jan Card Sketch Challenge on Scrapbook.com. The original sketch can be found  Here At MojoMonday.

SUPPLIES:
Cardstock: Bazzill (Whirlpool, lily pond, Kachina, velvet)
Patterned Paper: Michael’s Paper Pad/Craft Smith (Working on my Fitness)

Hippo Mother’s Day Card

Hippo Mothers Day

I have been making one of the guys at work Mother’s Day cards for his wife for the past 6 years (if not longer). He likes to have his kids represented on the card if possible. This year I found out she likes hippos so I remembered Gerda Steiner cute Hippo Stamp. It is no longer a digi stamp so I had to buy the clear stamp – Hippo with Butterfly. Now most of you know I am not a stamper and coloring is not my thing. Well I tried to color him and it looked horrible. After telling off my friends (Karen & Ro) that make stamping look easy God reminded me that wasn’t nice and to do what I’m comfortable with!! So I stamped on cardstock and paper pieced!! I love how he turned out. I found this color combo and used it for my inspiration.

I then had my husband design the saying for the shirt and I ran the shirt through the printer to print it on the shirt.

I used sketch #2 from May 2019 Card Sketch Challenge. I flipped it upside down and then added balloons coming from the original image.

SUPPLIES:
Stamp: Hippo with Butterfly @ Gerda Steiner Designs
Cardstock: Bazzill
Accents/Tools: Lawn Fawn Party Balloons, black string, EK Success 1/16 pop dots

Panda Love pink

So I almost forgot to check out the monthly image at Gerda Steiner Designs. I’m so glad I checked with a few days left because it was this adorable panda. So I pulled out some new Queen & Co paper I bought and asked my husband to color it up in photoshop to match. My printer prints darker and not always the color on the screen so the first print was more green (see 2nd version) then the color in the striped paper. So after several attempts we got the color to match the papers and that is this version! I used Atlantic Hearts Sketch #248 as my inspiration.

CHALLENGES:
Jan Inspirational Card Challenge – Favorites – Atlantic Hearts Sketch #248.

This is the card I made for my October recipient who is a grandpa and a widow. Sometimes life gets lonely as a widow so he was in need of Happy Mail. I prayed about what kind of card to make and was having a hard time figuring it out. Then my husband made a comment and this ideal popped in my head and God said “yep, that’s it!”. So found this image at Gerda Steiner Designs and it was perfect. Husband colored it in Photoshop for me. (I made a 2nd version for a female that also needed happy mail…see next card post!) I used paper from my scrap drawers and a sketch from Paper Play Sketches #18. I hope it brought a smile to his face!
