I made this card for my Godmother’s Birthday. I’m actually a couple weeks early with making it!! I used Sketch #3 from the October Card Sketch Challenge. Sorry the image is blurry. I couldn’t get a good photo. The bird image is 3D with several layers so that is why it looks that way. Happy Mail Challenge – October 2020
Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill (pansy, heather) 3D Push Outs – Jeanine’s Art (Birds & Flowers (SB10318)) Embossing folder: Stampin Up – Sizzix Country Floral embossing folder
I made this for a lady to give to her mom for her mother’s birthday.
I have been making some of the guys at work cards for their mom’s and wives for several years. This is one of my longest customers and every Mother’s Day he gets a card for his grandma (flamingos), Mom (cactus, old west), wife (sunflowers) and step-mom (garden, flowers, old trucks). So this is this years cards….
I original made this one for a guy who wanted a “bright happy sunflower” card to encourage someone. Sunflowers usually have darker colors to it because of the darker yellow Sunflowers are. But he wanted a brighter yellow so this is what I came up with. Hope he likes it! I used Sketch~N~Scrap World Card Making Day 2019 sketch #4 as my inspiration. I found a color scheme on the internet and then modified it a little.
SUPPLIES: Cardstock: Bazzill (Blue Oases, Atlantic, African Daisy, Hillary), AC Cardstock (Taffy) Metal Dies: Spellbinders (Create a Sunflower) Accents/Tools: Darice Embossing Folder (wire fence), Doodlebug Sprinkles (Birthday girl)
So I had bought some sunflower stickers and made this version for the wife that loves sunflowers! (I have been making her cards since she was the girlfriend!)
This card was inspired by one of Karen’s (TexasMomOf4) cards that we are lifting as part of the May 2020 Inspirational Card Challenge.
This is not showing up very well in the photograph on here. I promise it looks way better in real life. It is a different style for me but I think I like it. When I started putting the plants on the popped up piece I had to hang them off to make them fit. I liked the look and realized Karen’s had a little hanging off too. Thanks Karen for the inspiration!
P.S. – the background is paper that comes in the paper pack.
SUPPLIES:
His grandma gets a flamingo Mother’s Day and Christmas card every year. So this is paper from the same line I made her card in 2014. I used Atlantic Hearts Sketch #361 as my inspiration.
This was for his step-mom and was also one of my popular Mother’s Day cards this year. The flower was cut from a patterned paper in a paper pad. The patterned paper also came from the same paper pad. Added some cardstock, twine and cute sketch and the card was done! I used the Sketch~n~Scrap Sketch #165 for my inspiration.
May 2020 Inspirational Card Challenge – Theme – card for Female. May Happy Mail Card Challenge – I sent this one to my Godmother.

I have a standing order for hummingbirds for Mother’s Day. I broke down and bought “Humming Along” by Stampin’ Up. So glad I did. Since I’m not a stamper or good at coloring I decided to stamp on paper that was done like watercolor! Then I used the dies to cut it out. I used the abstract image that comes in the die as the background. It took me a little bit to figure out how to do it since the gold was thin and when it went through the xyron it would be hard to put it on without it ripping. Finally glued the gold on some plain cardstock and then cut it.
Even though the sketch showed ink I did a die cut….which is more my style!
CHALLENGES: 1) May 2019 Card Sketch – Sketch #4. Original sketch found here.

Needed a Mother’s Day card with birds and saw this image in the Photoplay Moments in Time collection and thought it was perfect. I used an old Stella Says Sketch #601. Challenge: 1) May 2019 Inspirational Card Challenge – Favorites – Recreate a card or sketch you’ve saved in your favorites either on this site, a blog, or Pinterest. Just make sure to link up the card in the description.

Had the Photoplay Moments In Time collection out and thought this might be for a mom that likes bicycles. The colors are different but that is what stood out in the flowers to me.

I have been making one of the guys at work Mother’s Day cards for his wife for the past 6 years (if not longer). He likes to have his kids represented on the card if possible. This year I found out she likes hippos so I remembered Gerda Steiner cute Hippo Stamp. It is no longer a digi stamp so I had to buy the clear stamp – Hippo with Butterfly. Now most of you know I am not a stamper and coloring is not my thing. Well I tried to color him and it looked horrible. After telling off my friends (Karen & Ro) that make stamping look easy God reminded me that wasn’t nice and to do what I’m comfortable with!! So I stamped on cardstock and paper pieced!! I love how he turned out. I found this color combo and used it for my inspiration.
I then had my husband design the saying for the shirt and I ran the shirt through the printer to print it on the shirt.
SUPPLIES: Stamp: Hippo with Butterfly @ Gerda Steiner Designs Cardstock: Bazzill Accents/Tools: Lawn Fawn Party Balloons, black string, EK Success 1/16 pop dots
I have a standing order for cactus/southwest Mother’s Day card for one of the guys at work. So I bought some cactus dies and this is what I came up with. Used the same sketch I did for the rose card but did it a little different. That’s what I love about sketches….can make so many different types of cards from one sketch. I used an embossing folder to make the background which was the technique category of the May Card Challenge.
SUPPLIES: Metal Die: Spellbinders (Potted Cacti S3-329) Cardstock: Bazzill (mysterious teal, bahama, sunbeam, velvet) Accents/Tools: Cricut, Basic George cricut cartridge, Cuttlebug Decorative Tile set embossing folders
These were last years Mother’s Day cards with a cactus. The guy at work got one for his mom, which is a standing order to have a cactus/southwest Mother’s Day card. And then another lady wanted a cactus card for her daughter and daughter-in-laws.
A lady had ordered 3 cards for her daughter-in-laws and daughter. She saw the fox I did a couple months ago for a birthday and wanted something fox themed. I found this mother fox with her pup and knew it was perfect. I used the bonus sketch from May Card Sketch Challenge.
SUPPLIES: Cardstock: Bazzill Digital Stamp: Cute Girl Fox (Teal & Purple) @ AMB Illustrations Accents/Tools: EK Success 1/16 pop dots, cutter bee scissors, Lawn Fawn Mother’s Day Border, xyron X
I have to do a flamingo card for a co-workers grandmother every year. This is her 2019 Mother’s Day card. I had to use less lighting for the photo to show the 3 embossed lines on the left. Used sketch #5 from the April Card Sketch Challenge. I made the card horizontal instead of vertical. Also for the April Inspirational Card Challenge – bonus – mother’s Day.
SUPPLIES: Digital Image: Endless Summer from Digi Web Studio (no longer available) Cardstock: Bazzill (Flamingo, Lagoon) Accents/Tools: Kaiserscrapbook rhinestone (island lagoon), Stampin Up (Seaside embossing folder), scor-pal
I realized I did not post any of my Mother’s Day cards for 2018. This was the grandmother’s 2018 Mother’s Day Card. I cut an extra flower spray and pop dotted it on top of the flamingo for dimension.
I needed a flamingo Mother’s Day card for a grandma. I have been making her cards for the past 4-5 years and she always gets a flamingo. I tried to use sketch #3 of the Card Sketch Challenge but the flamingo was too big so it didn’t come out looking like the sketch too much. But it was my inspiration. I used foil paper in the background and cut the words out of gold paper.

I have a standing order for a mom that loves rainbow colors. So some years I do actually rainbow colors and other years I just do other bright colors. This year I picked the color category for the Card Inspirational card challenge with her in mind. I then used a card from Cardiographer and one from Simon Says Stamp Blog as my inspiration.
I also got to use new goodies I had just ordered after being influenced on here that I needed these goodies!
I made this for a guy at work for his mother. She just happens to be a customer of mine so I love making cards for her. One of her favorite flowers is the purple Iris so that is what I used. He picked out this verse for the front of the card. I used sketch #3 of the May Card Sketch Challenge as my inspiration.
