Palm Tree Beach Birthday

So I made a card similar to this one last year (see below) …but forgot to post it! But a lady requested a palm tree/beach card for her nephew. This version is different because I used a new sun die I recently got (instead of part of a circle) and made the sand bigger on this one. I made the letters the same color as the sand in hopes it looks like it was drawn in the sand!

CHALLENGES:
1) April Inspirational Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – theme – weather. Not sure if this is what Karen had in mind but it is SUNNY WEATHER on this card! (so wish I was there!)

Favorite Fish in the Sea

One of the ladies at work wanted a card for her almost 1 yoa granddaughter to give her 16 yoa uncle (ladies son) for Valentine’s Day. She asked for that saying to be on the card. I decided to put it on the outside of the card and put Happy Valentine’s Day on the inside. I used the fish and rock scene from Diver Daniel Digital Stamp from Deedee’s Digis (no longer in business but she does have a blog she offers some of her images).

I was looking through my sketches trying to find something that would work with several fishes and one of them going the opposite direction. I decided to use Feeling Sketchy #162 as my inspiration. I flipped the elements so the cluster was on the right and the single fish was on the left. Instead of banners I used the rock image. I also flipped the elements upside down. She loved it when I gave it to her yesterday!

Kissy Fish

So I had been trying to think how to make the “baby and momma valentine card” into one that could be given to a husband from a wife only. So I came up with this Kissing Fish version! I used water color design paper from Michael’s to make the fish and the background. Love paper that lets me cheat cause I can’t make my own water color paper…doesn’t turn out as good! I used the same Tuesday Morning Sketch #388 as my inspiration.

nside: Our baby boy and I love you so much! Happy Valentine’s Day.

So a coworker is pregnant with their first baby. She asked for a card to give to her husband for Valentine’s that would be from her and their baby boy on the way. So went looking for pregnant woman images and then looked for mommy and baby animal images. This is an image from Coloring Pages For Kids. It was perfect as he is a fishermen. My husband colored it in Photoshop and then I cut them out so I could position them how I needed them on the card. I used Tuesday Morning Sketches #388 for my inspiration.

Balloons at the Beach

Beach w Balloons

So I saw a photo that had balloons in the forefront of the photo and the beach in the background. The nurse liked the photo and wanted something similar for one of her employees birthdays and this is how my version was born. I used the beach background and the wood post digital stamps from Diane’s Daydreams Designs (no longer in business) and made this scene. I punched balloons from my Martha Stewart Balloon punch and tied them on with black string. I printed the background scene a couple times so I could pop up the sand and clouds to give it dimension.

PROMO Beach Blanket Girl

Sometimes being a practical person doesn’t allow work with card making! It is hard for me to make a card unless I see a “purpose” for it so when I saw the beach image this month as the Digi of the Month set I wasn’t sure what I would make with it. After tossing around several ideals I decided I like this even though I don’t know what I’m using it for yet…so the inside is blank. I used Sweet Sunday Sketch #234 as my inspiration. I printed a second image and cut the girl out so she is pop dotted in the scene.
