2 Hearts Anniversary Card

2-hearts-anniversay-square

I made this one and decided I liked it enough I made another one for another lady who also needed an anniversary card. I made the rectangle one because she needed to mail it right away so it couldn’t be any special postage or mailing to it (square cards cost .68 and have to be Hand Stamp Only…no machine)

The bonus sketch picked out by LindsayE for the November Card Sketch Challenge inspired this card. I needed something that would work with 2 hearts and was romantic and that sketch seemed like it would work. I went through my scrap drawers and found pretty paper and here you have the finished product.

CHALLENGES:
1) November Card Sketch Challenge – bonus sketch. Original sketch was Cardabilities #131.
2) November Inspirational Card Challenge – Product – punches. Used Fiskars border punch.

SUPPLIES:
Cardstock: Bazzill (Crabapple dark)
Patterned Paper: Chatterbox

And then the lady wanted a card for her daughter (the mother of the grandchildren). She picked this image and this is what I came up with. My first time using the tiny brads from The Paper Studio…they were perfect for the little flowers. Super old paper….wonder if I’m the only one that still has this!!

Mermaid Shaker

Well I have been wanting to jump back in the Progressive Challenge at Gerda Steiner Designs but just haven’t had the time. I’m hosting the August Card Sketch Challenge at Scrapbook.com so while looking for sketches I came across this one Sketch Saturday #420. So this sketch is #5 in the August Card Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com.

SaturdaySketch420

I thought it was perfect for the monthly image at Gerda Steiner Designs this month and couldn’t wait to put it together. I thought this image would be cute to send to my friend and then I found the saying “So glad you’re part of my world” and knew it was perfect to send to my Best Friend. I have also been wanting to make a shaker card since it was the technique challenge July Inspirational Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com. Well the first card I made I put some of the punched circles too close to the edge so it is not a shaker card. So the next card I kept the edges clear so I could put the double sided foam tape around the edges. I have learned after making my first ever shaker card that there must be secrets to this! I ran my images through my Xyron figuring they needed to be flat. Well the beads are sticking to the edges of the images. I’m so proud that I finally used these beads….I got them when the local store closed in 2006!! But I think my best friend will still like it. Last year I sent her a card every month but this year I have slacked but I’m going to send this one just so she knows I haven’t forgot her!!

CHALLENGES:

Another card inspired by a sticker

I almost forgot about this card!

Spring Flowers Easter Card

I’m not even sure what I was looking for but found this Spring Flowers sticker all by itself. Well, Scrapanda has challenged us to use our stickers and I happily accepted. I went looking at sketches and found Sketch Saturday #402 would work nice with the sticker. I then went to my Easter scraps and found this old KI scrap that matched perfectly!! The tag looked to bare so I got out my new basket weave embossing folder since baskets go with Spring! Got out my EK Success flower punch to add a little something in the corner of the tag! Oh and a little purple gingham ribbon and the card was done…all inspired by a sticker!!

Check it Out – plaid or checks

I can’t remember where I saw that challenge a month or so ago but liked it so I used it for Product Category in the November Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com.  Here is my take on the challenge:

Birthday Wishes -Butterfly

CHALLENGES:

  1. Nov Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – Product Category – plaids or checks. I also used sketch in the upper left corner from sketch category.
  2. Crafting by Designs Challenge – Times 3. Must have 3 of something. I have 3 butterflies, 3 orange circles, 3 yellow circles, 3 pearls on each butterfly.
  3. Use Your Stuff Challenge #201 – Lots of Layers. It’s not a lot of layers to some but is to others!

My nurse friend asked me to make her co-workers birthday cards through out the year. There were 3 total in November and I already made one so here are the last two I made for this month.

Happy Birthday Butterflies

CHALLENGES:

  1. Nov Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – Sketch Category – bottom right sketch…instead of the 3 little circles I used butterflies and moved them up a little.
