I made this card for my niece. I was late sending it but better late than never I guess. I used the sketch from March 2019 Card Sketch Challenge – sketch #5. Original found here: http://sweetsketchwednesday2.blogspot.com/2019/02/sketch-153-with-bugaboo.html I turned it horizontal and left the ribbon off. I did add rhinestone which was part of the Product category of the March Inspirational Card Challenge.
The happy birthday was a section on a patterned paper piece that I cut out.
So I posted the sketch on the Sketch Challenge (Feeling Sketchy #147) and Karen posted the color challenge (gray, yellow, white).
Well I happened to have a ton of yellow and gray scraps because I helped a friend last year with wedding signs and she gave me all the scraps. So I decided the sketch and color challenge should go together. Well then I went to Michael’s and guess what they had in their $1.50 bins….yep yellow, white, gray and black flowers. They were PERFECT!! They only had big ones in white…so I took off the center of the white one and put a medium black flower on top of it. So then I went back to the jewel aisle and found the perfect jewel swirls and got them discounted with a coupon!!! SCORE!!! I finally got a “wow” out of my husband when he looked at it….haven’t got one lately so I was excited!! I left the tag blank because it really could be for many different occasions…birthday, wedding, sympathy.
So I was going to go horizontal with the sketch but after seeing Cardiographer use a vellum tag to the side I decided to do that same thing with cardstock. Thanks Cardiographer.
SUPPLIES: Cardstock: Bazzill (Ash, Raven, Mexican Poppy) Patterned Paper: The Paper Studio (The Garment District) Accents/Tools: Recollections Adhesive Rhinestones, Michael’s Paper Flowers
Had a request for a birthday card for a girl that was turning 12 and loved horses and her favorite color was blue. I dug out some OLD Chatter box scraps I had and used Sweet Sunday Sketch #217 as my inspiration. I thought every cowgirl just needs a little touch of bling so put rhinestone brads in the center of the flowers I cut out from the patterned paper.
4) Crafty Creations Challenge #270 – Dig deep use something old from your stash. The paper is old and the cartridge is old. The newest thing is the rhinestones but have had those for several months and have never used them!
