Last Christmas Cards for 2017!

My last Christmas Order wasn’t due until Jan 12th so I was able to work on them the beginning of the month.

Panda Christmas

I couldn’t find Christmas Panda images that fit in my cuteness category….I’m probably going to have to break down and buy some clear stamps! So I just saw some Panda stickers in my stash the other day so I thought I would look at them and see if I could make them into a Christmas Card. Well this card design just came to me so I went with it. I was pretty excited how it turned out!

Thank you Trek for my Tim Holtz christmas word dies!!

Christmas Son-in-law - Margie

Christmas Daughter - Margie
This was the card for the lady’s daughter. She wanted a card that told her what a wonderful daughter she was. When I bought the paper in Branson and it had all these cute photo cards she picked one for SIL (see previous card) and one for her daughter. I used Jan Card Sketch #1 as my inspiration. I just moved the paper over to the left because I wanted more of it to show and added epoxy dots instead of a sentiment.

Card from Santa

Santa paper pieced

A lady contacted me and stated she was going to buy her kids seasons passes to Wonders of Wildlife (Bass Pro) but didn’t have any cool way to present it to the kids. She said she was disappointed that Bass Pro didn’t have any cards to do this. So she requested one from me! She wanted it to be from Santa to the kids. I came up with the ideal of Santa checking his list and finding out the family was nice so he would give them a season pass. So I sent the ideal to my girlfriend who is amazing with coming up with sentiments.

Santa Bass Pro - inside
On the inside I printed off a photo of W.O.W. and made it a pocket so the season pass would go on a tag that could be pulled out.

Santa Bass Pro

So I was telling my massage therapist about this card and he said oh make me one I want to take it my friend that works at Bass Pro. So who know maybe Bass Pro will “copy” my ideal!

While I was looking for images on the internet I came across this digital stamp/svg file at Scarlett Rose Designs and thought it would be perfect for the envelope to put the card in. I printed their names on the front.

One of the guys at work has a standing order for a flamingo for grandma and warm/southwest Christmas for mom. Well I forgot to take a picture of Grandma’s card. But this is the one I did for his mom. Santa, presents and top of the umbrella are all pop dotted for dimension. I saw the saying on the internet.

Ho Ho Ho Card.JPG

This was another card made for the regular (guy from our old church) card customer that needed 20 cards. I had bought a 6 x 6 paper pad at Hobby Lobby in the fall because it was cute and on sale. Well it was perfect as I made several cards from the paper in the pack. I used Tuesday Morning Sketches #371 as my inspiration.

So I started out making the snowflake card and I cut this piece of polka dot paper but it didn’t end up working out. So I found this square image of Santa in the paper pack and thought it fit perfectly on here once it was mounted on black cardstock. Simple but it works!

So I had these scraps sitting on my desk after make 3 different cards from a 6 x 6 paper pad. Decided to use them to make a simple but cute Christmas card. I added snowflakes to the middle panel then added stickles to all three panels (hard to see in the photo).

Gift Cards and Money Holders

In October I made a gift card holder so when I sold my cards at our work bazaar I placed them out and let people know I could make different ones since I ran out of time to have several designs displayed. I got orders….so I had to make up more!! I also had a lady ask if I could do money cards so I told her yes, so I had to make those up too. Now money cards were a little tricky finding a size that looked right for money and then finding envelopes. I got my inspiration from this blog but she used Stampin’ Up envelopes that I believe are discontinued as I couldn’t find them in a current catalog.  I figured out what size I needed it to be around and after searching the internet I found 3 7/8 x 7 1/2 envelopes at envelopesexpress.com so the finished card is 3 1/2 x 7 1/4.

I started with the gift cards holders since I already had one made for the order (the deer I made in October). She also wanted the cat image I made a card with and then an ice skater. I was excited about the ice skater as I bought this image, Bella Ice Skate, by Kristi Dailey several years ago and have never had the time to use it. She said the girls hair was between a blond and light brown so I did both and she chose the blond! The original gift card holder ideal I got my inspiration from was at Dawn’s Stamping Thoughts.

I used I {heart} Sketches #101 as my inspiration.

Here is what the inside looks like:

So Cool turned into Christmas

So the Digi of the Month at DeeDee’s Digital, So Cool,  is this adorable penguin in a Bathtub…

DASoCoolPROMOPIC

but I could not figure out a card using it the way it was so I started thinking Christmas card. Well, after I saw Pippa’s totally cool card that she entered I wish I would have thought tropical drinks! But instead of copying Pippa I decided to stick to my Christmas ideal. I had my husband put the santa hat from Doodle Pantry’s Santa Accessories Digital Stamp on the penguin. I struggled with coming up with a card for several hours. During that struggle I created this card but didn’t like the penguin on it (didn’t say Christmas to me) so I stuck a Mickey sticker and turned it into a birthday card.
