Boy Congratulations

So my ex-boss asked me to make a baby boy card for one of his current employees. So this is one of 3 cards I made for him to choose from….he picked this one!

I’m sure I’m the only one that still HAS this paper! It was perfect for the sketch Karen used in the July Inspirational Card Challenge – Sketch Category. The patterned paper was punch in squares to get the images.

Life is better in Flip Flops

Life better in flip flops

Had a request for a Mother’s Day card with flip flops! She liked this saying and wanted it on the outside so this is what I came up with. Oh ya she said her mom liked bright colors so I went with the color scheme presented last month on March Inspirational Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com. I used sketch #7 posted on Cardmakers Card Challenge (the original sketch came from Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #30). The flip flops are an SVG file but not sure from who. I ran them through and embossed them. The brads are super old and the last of those colors in my stash. All the patterned paper are scraps!!

CHALLENGES:
1) Cardmakers Card Challenge – sketch #7 – use the sketch provided.
2) April Inspirational Card Challenge – Bonus Category – use the photo as inspiration…I went with the theme – Mother’s Day.

Baseball baby cards

There seems to be a lot of people having babies so I have several request for baby cards.

A lady asked for a “Congratulations on becoming a Grandma” card that was to have a baseball/cardinal theme. But has now turned into more of a birthday card for grandma. I have sent her the 3 cards but not sure email is cooperating so I’m going to post them here so she can see them and pick which one she likes best. Then we will work out the wording.

Stay Calm and Buy Shoes!!!

Oh mother nature has rained havic on my day! I have had no internet at the house since yesterday! Which is totally NOT cool when Clearly iStamp is having their monthly blog hop! So I hope to have my card up shortly.

I hope you came from Dee’s Blog – Dee’s Design Blog

The theme this month is STAY CALM AND _____________ (Fill in the blank). Well, I have seen this saying everywhere but had no clue where it came from or the meaning behind it. So I googled it and discovered that basically now it can be used for anything and is just a marketing tool.

So I made this card with my friend in mind who loves high heel shoes! I used the digital image Walk by Faith.

Flip Flop Birthday Card and Happy Anniversary

Flip Flop Birthday Card

All the ladies I work with are very supportive of my hobby and will even buy my cards! One of the ladies asked me to make a birthday card for her granddaughter that was turning 5. I asked her what her granddaughter liked and without hesitation she said, “flip flops”. Grandma is even making a flip flops cake….now that is talent! So I searched the internet and found an image I thought I could cut out and build my own flip flops! Oh and the birthday girl likes pink so that is why it is a main color! I had to put 5 flowers on each shoe and gems since she is a girly girl too!  The flower/splash chipboard behind the #5 was a happy accident. I tried circles and tags and nothing looked right. So I went to my pile of a million chipboard pieces I got for $5 at M’s and there it was the perfect shade of blue water splash/flower! It had cream lines on it so I took my white Signo pen (that I love) and changed the doodles to white. It was the perfect touch! Inside says: Happy Birthday!
