Scarecrow & Turkey Thanksgiving

Inside:
Wishing you a Turkey Day stuffed with everything good! Happy Thanksgiving

I was out of Thanksgiving cards so when I had my sale some ladies asked me to make some up quick. So I came up with 3 cards that they could order. Got them done in the nick of time!

I have a standing order for a lady at work to make her daughter, son-in-law, and 3 grandchildren cards for Christmas. She said for her son-in-law this year she wanted something to do coal and “don’t be naughty”. Well I immediately thought of this Santa looking at his list from Gerda Steiner Designs – Wishlist Santa. I found this saying on the internet and then the inside says “Don’t be Naughty! Merry Christmas”. She said it was perfect and exactly what she wanted. I used Sketch Saturday #430.

2) December Inspirational Card Challenge @ scrapbook.com – Bonus Category – have something that starts with an “S” or “T”. I did Santa, stripes, snowflakes.

I hope Deedee is sitting down when she sees this!! She is going to pass out that I got it done in the FIRST week instead of within hours of the challenge ending!! Miracles never cease!! 🙂

I needed a card for my brother who is struggling to make ends meet while paying child support so I got him a Wal-Mart gift card to send to him. So I needed a card to go with it so I’m so glad Deedee’s image was this adorable monkey. I batted my eyelashes while asking my husband to remove the cupcake from the monkey’s hand so I could have him hold a sign. I cut off his curl hair because I wanted it to look more manly for my masculine card. Yes, I know I have issues!! 🙂 I found this scrap piece of stripped paper and knew it was perfect for this image. Those glass tiles are at least 8 years old…am I the only one that still owns them??

CHALLENGE:
1) August Card Sketch Challenge – sketch #3 – which originally was Sketch Saturday #217
2) Deedee’s Digis August Digi of the Month Challenge – use the image provided and get next months image FREE!!

I decided since I had a little bit of paper left over I would make a couple more. This time I did it in a 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 square and made it a birthday card!

Turtle-riffic Birthday

Still got this cold but have a little more energy today so since it is the LAST day to enter Deedee’s Digi of the Month challenge I dragged by bottom into my scraproom and came up with this! Not bad for having to blow your nose every 5 min!

I did a mixture of using the pre-colored digi (the base of the turtle) but then colored the shell and balloon in photoshop and glued them on top of the base. Then I printed the hat out on red cardstock and cut it out.

CHALLENGES:

1) Deedee’s Digi of the Month – Make a project with the stamp provided and next month’s image will be FREE!

2) March Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – Favorites Category – Use a sketch or card you have saved in your favorites as inspiration. I used Sketch Saturday Sketch #294.

3) Simply Create Too Challenge #56 – Shop in your stash. This is my 2nd entry…as I said I need to “shop in my stash” a lot!! Everything from my scrap drawers except for the green diamond paper…but I bought the pack last year sometime. The punches had forever!

4) Seize the Birthday Challenge – Anything goes – no topping this week. This is my 2nd entry.

5) Card Makin Mamas Challenge #81 – stack it up! 3 layers or more.

SUPPLIES:

Digital Image: Turtleriffic Day @ Deedee’s Digis

Cardstock: Bazzill

Patterned Paper: Echo Park (A Boy’s Life)

Inks: pre-colored digi printed on Canon Inkjet Printer, shell colored in photoshop, hat paper pieced

Accent/Tools: circle punch, corner rounder, X – sticker maker, EK success border punch

Masculine Birthday Card for Sketch Saturday

So I’m teaching card class at church Friday and we are doing 4 masculine cards since we did 4 feminine cards last month. So I thought the sketch at Sketch Saturday Week #260 would be perfect for a Masculine Birthday Card. I made the first card and liked it but didn’t like the imperfection in the writing around the star so I made card #2. I like card #2 a lot but don’t hate #1 so not sure which to offer at the class!! I think I will offer #2. What do you think?
