Spring Time Cards

I have a customer that has an older lady friend that he is like a nephew too so I decided he needed to send her a springtime card! She loves the garden and figured she could use happy mail during the quarantine. Then I ended up making two alike so I decided my best friend, Cheryl, needed a happy mail card too so she got the Hello Sunshine.

Springtime

Cutting out a different photo journaling card I had that pink frame left over. That flower piece is another journaling card and it fit over it perfectly so I put them together. Then I saw Sketch #360 at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and used the “springtime” cut from same paper to put the card together!

Guest at Deedee’s Digis!!

Doing the happy dance today!! I get to be a Guest Designer for Deedee’s Digis for the WHOLE MONTH of September!!

I worked with Deedee’s wonderful artwork at Clearly Digi Stamps as she was one of the illustrators. I told her if she ever needed a guest design team member to let me know. As both of our lives got busy at different points we just left it in God’s hands for the perfecting time to have me as a Guest Designer. September turned out to be his perfect timing! He always knows what is best for us as he can see the BIG PICTURE so all we have to do is trust him and listen to him. Still working on that but as with all things… practice makes perfect!

She always seems to have the perfect images for what I’m needing. My girlfriend just had surgery and I coordinated meals for her family since she was on bed/couch rest for 2 weeks after the surgery. As part of her “get well don’t worry about it” gift I wanted to make her thank you cards that she could send to all the people that helped her during this time. So I asked her husband what her favorites were and he said the color blue and Daffodils. So I went with Daffodils and made 20 Thank You cards for her.

DASpringBlocksPROMOPIC

I used Spring Blocks because of this beautiful image of Daffodils! While looking for a sketch I saw that it was the 5th Saturday at Sketch Saturday so you get to use any past sketch from #215 – 324. So I started browsing their sketches and found sketch # 225.  You can’t tell but I printed a 2nd image and cut out the full flower and pop dotted on top of the image to make it more real. I wanted a border around the border to help it pop so I just printed the image on bazzill white and just left a white border. I dug out some old yellow gems and they were perfect!

SS-225

I hope you will come back each Wednesday as that is “my day” to be featured at Deedee’s Digis.

Healing Thoughts

Inside: Healing thoughts and prayers are being sent your way.

I have 2 sisters that come to my craft class at the retirement home. Both of the ladies are in their 90’s (probably average age for the class!) but they show up every month they can. This month one of them couldn’t come to class because she fell and broke her hip so I made this card for her. Wanted her to know that she was missed and we are praying for her.

I used the March Stamp of the Month at {From the heart stamps} called Hamlet PigWit Think Spring! This card is a hybrid card…half computer colored and half with Tombow markers.

CHALLENGES:

Easter Cards

CHALLENGES:

1) Alphabet Challenge Blog D for Dry Embossing.  Dry embossing is how I got started in making cards.

The back paper is actually green. The sun was bright and it was the only time I had to take the photo.

These two cards were made with the Paste Embossing technique.

The two cross cards were made especially for a man at church that ordered 10 Easter Cards for his family. The last one was made with a dual purpose as a card I taught at the card class for Church and for the gentleman at church that was buying cards.

Challenges that all 3 Cards meet:

1) Card Makin Mamas – Easter. So, there you have it!  Now, it’s time for you to share your EASTER creations!  You’ve got 2 weeks to participate in our challenge for a chance to win the awesome prize!

2) Catch the Bug Challenge – Easter/Spring

3) Cute Card Thursday Challenge #210 – Easter. This week with Easter coming up next week, we would like to see you Easter inspired cards and projects. The cards/projects do not need to be religious in nature, maybe they can be inspired by the colors.
