Masculine Birthday Card for Sketch Saturday

So I’m teaching card class at church Friday and we are doing 4 masculine cards since we did 4 feminine cards last month. So I thought the sketch at Sketch Saturday Week #260 would be perfect for a Masculine Birthday Card. I made the first card and liked it but didn’t like the imperfection in the writing around the star so I made card #2. I like card #2 a lot but don’t hate #1 so not sure which to offer at the class!! I think I will offer #2. What do you think?

Happy Birthday Star1

Paper: The Paper Studio (Boy and their Toys paper pack)

Happy Birthday to you!

It actually should read “Welcome Back for Fun Challenges!!” but since the theme this week is Birthday I decided to go with that! Yep, you read that right…For Fun Challenge is back. As the name states it is “For Fun” so she has changed things up a bit. Right now she doesn’t have a DT just asking people to GDT. And I was honored to be asked to help with re-opening day! I hope you will be inspired by the challenge and join us in making a Birthday Card but must have the word “Birthday” on it!

This card was a fun and challenging one to make. See this paper is from Creative Memories and is from an older Christmas Pack. I used up most of it last year making Christmas Cards for the Card Class at Church. Last year when I didn’t use it but was looking at it I thought it would make a great Birthday card. So it has sat and collected dust. I guess the timing was right to work with this paper because I ended up being able to make 3 different Birthday cards from the paper! I can’t show the other two till the 15th of month since I used a new digital stamp from Clear Dollar Stamps.

Thanks for looking and hope you will come play with us at For Fun Challenges!

1) For Fun Challenge – Happy Birthday with the word Birthday on it.

Cardstock/Papers: Cardstock – Bazzill (French Vanilla), Patterned Paper – Creative Memories (an older Christmas Pack)

Accents/Tools: Cricut, Basic George Cricut Cartridge, pop dots, small corner rounder

Wednesday Rewind Challenge #8

If you have not checked out this challenge it is a MUST! I love her cards and love sketch challenges so this was a win/win for me!

She will post a card she has done in the past and then she does a new version of it and so do we!

This month the card stumped me as I’m not a big ribbon user the way it was used on this card. But I was determined to play. So glad I did cause it made me think outside the “card” and I really like how this came out.

Go here to see the card that I “lifted”.

Here is my version:

Can you see the sketch but see how I made it mine! I love it!! Thank you Tarynne for the inspiration!

1) Made Fresh Daily Wednesday Rewind Challenge #8 (MFDWR8) –  On the 5th of every month I will post a card that I made from a couple months ago up to a couple years and I will lift the card. How do you play? Lift the card also! You can turn it, add to it, take away from it, as long as I can still see the original sketch in your card!

2) Alphabet Challenge Blog – M for Men Only. We would like to see projects for Men or with Men on them please.

3) Card Crafter’s Circle Challenge #33 – CAS – Our challenge theme for you this week is to be uncluttered, uncomplicated, but bold and fresh…. we want you to create in the style of  CAS – Clean and Simple

5) Paper Playtime Challenge #80 – Anything Goes!
