Annie’s Cardmaker Kit of the Month Club – July 2021 – Hello Sunshine

I had an order for a Get Well card for an elderly lady that fell and broke her hip. Also wanted to have some on hand.
My husband found this Card Kit of the Month and bought it for me for Mother’s Day. So far the 3 months I have had it I like it! They send instructions to make cards with the supplies but I don’t normally make their cards….I use the supplies to make my own. I used the left side of this scrapbook sketch as my inspiration. I saw a tall skinny card on the left side of the sketch. I ended up making a 3 3/4 x 7 1/4 card. Sketch used: https://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/image/sketch/6722927.html

Supplies:
Cardstock: American Crafts (Sky), Bazzill (Romance, Ivy)
Patterned Paper and die cuts: Annie’s Cardmaker Kit of the Month Club – Hello Sunshine visit: https://www.annieskitclubs.com/products/cardmaker-kit
Accents/Tools: Cuttlebug Embossing Folder (Swiss dots)

So this is another card I made with the Annie’s Cardmaker Kit of the Month Club – July 2021 supplies. I was inspired by last months sketch #2 of the August Card Sketch Challenge. The original sketch is a MOJO Monday Sketch #504. I turned one into a sympathy card and the other is going to a lady that lost her husband in late July to let her know I’m thinking and praying for her. So I will be linking it to the September Happy Mail Challenge. **I challenge everyone to mail out one “happy mail” card this month just to let someone know you are thinking of them!**

Sending Prayers

Yes!! That is a stamped sentiment!! I love seeing all the stamped cards but it seriously is hard for me so I would much rather run it through my printer! But I had bought these stamps awhile back and thought it worked perfectly with this sketch and butterfly.
Simple card but sometimes simple works.

I needed a sympathy card for a lady at work. I just used some stickers from this package so I thought that the bird would make a good sympathy card. So I looked through my sketches and liked the sketch picked for the Feb Inspirational Card Challenge @ scrapbook.com. I went through all my scraps and just couldn’t find anything that worked so I would to my closet full of paper racks. I pulled out my brand new DCWV Violet Leaf paper pack and it had paper with gold foil on it!! It was perfect…thank you Flutterbye0419 for telling me I NEEDED this paper pack last month!! And this is what came together when I combined my supplies and sketch! I was pretty pleased with it…different then what I normally do but I like it!

Yellow/Gray/Black Card

Yellow Gray Black Flower.JPG

So I posted the sketch on the Sketch Challenge (Feeling Sketchy #147) and Karen posted the color challenge (gray, yellow, white).

FeelingSketchy6-15-16

Well I happened to have a ton of yellow and gray scraps because I helped a friend last year with wedding signs and she gave me all the scraps. So I decided the sketch and color challenge should go together. Well then I went to Michael’s and guess what they had in their $1.50 bins….yep yellow, white, gray and black flowers. They were PERFECT!! They only had big ones in white…so I took off the center of the white one and put a medium black flower on top of it. So then I went back to the jewel aisle and found the perfect jewel swirls and got them discounted with a coupon!!! SCORE!!! I finally got a “wow” out of my husband when he looked at it….haven’t got one lately so I was excited!! I left the tag blank because it really could be for many different occasions…birthday, wedding, sympathy.

So I was going to go horizontal with the sketch but after seeing Cardiographer use a vellum tag to the side I decided to do that same thing with cardstock. Thanks Cardiographer.

Sympathy Bird

I needed a sympathy card for a co-worker who lost her mother-in-law suddenly. I used Sketch #5 from NSD Card Sketch Challenge….just stretched it out to fit a 5 x 7 card since the bird was so big. And instead of having tags I used the flower.

1) NSD Card Sketch Challenge – sketch #5 – original sketch Viva La Verve Sept week 2 2011.
2) May Inspirational Card Challenge – Bonus Category – have a bird on the card.

Okay I have made 2 cards last week for Deedee’s Digis Blog and haven’t had time to post them here so I’m going to so I’m caught up.

Heartfelt Sympathy

This one was made for the Crafting by Design Challenge which was to use flowers. I had to make a sympathy card for the family of one of my “regulars” in my craft class at the retirement home. When I was praying about making the card these were the flowers I felt led to put on the card. They are bright and beautiful just like she was.

I used Deconstructed Sketch #197 as my inspiration.

Pet Sympathy

I totally forgot to post this card! (insert hand slap to forehead!) I made this card for the Craft Your Passion Challenge that Deedee’s Digis sponsored last week! The challenge was Anything Goes which was good because my friend needed a Pet Sympathy card for a co-worker. This is a fairly new digital image at Deedee’s Digis and knew it would be perfect.

Sympathy - Male Dog

I put the sentiment in the heart and moved the paws down. I used some old Chatterbox scraps I still have lying around.

Old Barn Sympathy Card

Old Barn Sympathy

A friend’s father died last week so I wanted to make them a special sympathy card. The dad owned and lived on a farm so I thought this barn image from Doodle Pantry would personalize the card just for them. The red base is the only thing new and not from the scrap bin!

CHALLENGES:
1) September Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – Bonus category – use any type of metal. I used brads I have had for YEARS. Funny how you won’t use a color for a long time then all of sudden it is the perfect on for tons of projects. I have use this color brad more in the last year than I have in 8 years of owning them!
2) Use Your Stuff Challenge #151 – Brads
3) Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #234 (SSSC234) – Use the sketch provided as inspiration. Instead of a circle image I went with a rectangle by making the card a 5 x 7
4) Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge #50 (DPDC50) – Use a Doodle Pantry image on a project and get the Featured Product FREE!

SUPPLIES:
Digital Image: Old Barn @ Doodle Pantry
Cardstock: Bazzill (Maraschino)
Patterned Paper: Brown (SEI), yellow (unknown)
Inks: pre-colored digital image printed on Canon Inkjet Printer
Accents/Tools: brads, corner rounder

Time for new digital stamps!

Good Morning!  It is March 15th so it is time to release new digital stamps at Clearly Digi Stamps. They are oh so cute and so many different ones I’m sure you will find something you JUST HAVE TO HAVE!! I have to say I am very thankful for being on the design team otherwise my WHOLE allowance would be at Clearly Digi Stamps!

Since I’m a dog lover and have 4 doggies I was so glad when I got to play with the new digital stamp called Doggies and Things.

sympathy - female dog

I used Try Stampin’ on Tuesday Sketch #108 as my inspiration. I turned the sketch sideways and put the sentiment directly on the background.  I love how it turned out. This card is for some friends of ours that had to say goodbye to their longtime companion a week ago.

And if you want to see it used in a funny way come back on Sunday for our blog hop! I used this stamp so you will have a chance to win it just for leaving me a comment during the blog hop! Plus, I really like my card I did for Sunday so I would love for you to come back and see it!

CHALLENGES:

1) PanPastel Challenge #10 – Girly Theme. They probably wanted something happy but this card was made girly to represent the girl doggie they lost this past week.

2) March Card Challenge @ scrapbook.com – Product Category – Lace. I made mine with a punch and paper!

Okay enough begging for you to come back on SUNDAY!! Now here is the second card I made with a new digital stamp called Bandaids.  I used Freshly Made Sketches #76 as inspiration. I also used 3 Bandaids which fit the challenge at Sentimental Sundays!

boo boo

As you can see tons of options with this stamp. I have a couple more ideals in my head that I want to try so I’m sure you will be seeing this stamp again.

CHALLENGES:

1) Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge #5  – For the boys! I made this card masculine since I never have enough masculine Get Well cards.

2) Sentimental Sundays Challenge #1453 Embellishments That Start w/ the Letter “B”  (plus a sentiment)  They can be 3 of the same or 3 different embellishments. Please be sure to tell us what 3 embellishments you in your project this week.

Learning about Australia at For Fun Challenges

Helen at For Fun Challenges pulled out a challenge for me this week! She challenged us to make anything that was inspired by Australia. Well, I want to go there so learning about is as close as I will get right now! I didn’t want to do the Kangaroo or Kola because I like to be different and I didn’t have any stamps that would work. So I started looking up facts about Australia. I learned the following:

Australia’s national floral emblem is the golden wattle (Acacia pycnantha Benth.). On August 19th, 1988 the Governor-General, the Rt Hon Sir Ninian M Stephen AK GCMG GCVO KBE, proclaimed the golden wattle as Australia’s national floral emblem. National Wattle Day is the first day of September.

I also thought about doing something with a crocodile on it but I will save that for another day! I also saw that the Australia Open is going on this week.  I decide to look for images of the Golden Wattle. I found one digital image that was free at JJDezignz.  I thought it would be perfect for a masculine sympathy card since it wasn’t a girly looking flower. What do you think….does it work for masculine or should I stick giving it to females since it has a flower on it?

Wattle Sympathy Card

I hope you take the challenge and push yourself to create a card inspired by Australia! I love how my card turned out….thanks for the push Helen.
