Love Birds.JPG

I’m so excited about this card. I saw the challenge at Scrapbook Blessings Club to make a Valentine/Love card using Christmas Stash and didn’t think much of it since I had all my Valentine cards done. Well while I was working on a Christmas card using old stash I saw the perfect stickers that looked nothing like Christmas but were all about Love! I had also been wanting to do sketch #3 at the Cardmakers Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com but the inspiration hadn’t come to me till now. So not only did I use old old old supplies I was challenged and came up with a cute card. Love when that happens!! Haven’t been able to just play like that for a long time.
CHALLENGES:
1) Scrapbook Blessings Club February Challenge – Christmas Card Valentine – Make a Valentines, Love, Heart, Red/ White Color Combo card or project BUT YOU MUST USE CHRISTMAS SUPPLIES/ITEMS from your stash. This can be a paper, die cuts, stamps of a couple bundled in coats, two polar bears, etc.

Oh Merry Merry

I’m trying to make a couple Christmas cards each month so I got out one of my super OLD Christmas paper packs to see if anything would work. I was hoping to use one of the sketches I wanted to play along with. Well this round sticker popped out at me and then there was a matching sticker border too. I thought it would work for the original Pagemaps sketch that is our inspiration this week at Cardmakers Card Challenge. So the card came together pretty easily. The green tag was a new Tim Holtz tag set I got for Christmas and it leaves an impressed spot where writing goes. Since I wasn’t going to write on the tag I cut out a piece I had embossed and glued it on.

CHALLENGES:
1) Cardmakers Card Challenge – Feb 7th sketch.
2) Feb Inspirational Card Challenge – Favorites Category – used a Pagemaps sketch

3) Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge #65 – Emboss it. I embossed on the tag.

4) C.R.A.F.T. Challenge #351 – Christmas

5) Christmas Card Challenge #11 – Color challenge. Or you can make any card as long as it is a Christmas card. I did not do the optional color challenge.

SUPPLIES:
Round sentiment, sticker border and paper – The Paper Studio (Happy Hootin’ Holidays)
Accents/Tools: Tim Holtz tags, ribbon, Taylored Expressions swiss hearts embossing folder, EK Success 1/16 pop dots

Love Sunflower

Love Always

I bought a package of chalkboard tags last year and never got around to using them. So this year I saw Kathy101 post a sketch using a tag and thought they would be perfect. Well after several attempts I couldn’t get that sketch to work so I moved onto another sketch, Tuesday Morning Sketches #336, and love the outcome. I also went with these Chalkboard tags because the product category at the Inspirational Card Challenge is Chalkboard product. I paired it with a sunflower since one of the guys at work that placed an order his girlfriend’s favorite flower is the sunflower. And every girl should get their favorite flower on Valentine’s Day!I also have a goal to use up my non dwindling supplies so the background heart paper were scraps I had.

I had two tags that would work for this design so made two cards!

CHALLENGES:
1) Feb Inspirational Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – product category – chalkboard
2) 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge #284 (4 CC#284) – Love

So this week I made the last of the Mother’s Day Cards that were needed for the people at work.

Flamingo Mothers Day

INSIDE: To the best Nana anyone could ever wish for! Happy Mother’s Day

I have a standing order for a guy at work to make a Flamingo card for his Grandma on Christmas and Mother’s Day. Here is this years Flamingo Best Nana anyone could ever wish for card!!

CHALLENGES:
1) May Card Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – Sketch 3 – original sketch is from The sweet Stop sketchChallenge Blog #144

Butterflies

One of the guys at work wanted a Mother’s Day card with a Rainbow theme since his mother loves rainbows. This card was inspired by a card I found on Pinterest – http://iminhaven.blogspot.com/2012/01/color-my-world.html I didn’t have a flower die or punch that would work for this so a trip to Michael’s was the solution. I bought a Martha Stewart anywhere punch of a butterfly. It was too big to do the original design so this is what I came up with.

I did a 2nd card and messed up on the punching so I put the sentiment on the outside. Which do you like better?? Please let me know as I want to make more and I can’t decide which one to do.

CHALLENGES:
1) May Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – Favorites Category – Recreate a card or sketch you’ve saved in your favorites either on this site, a blog, or Pinterest.
