Encouragement Cards for Chemo patient

A lady at work told me her sister was diagnosed with breast cancer and was starting 15 weeks of chemo. She wanted to know if I could make mini or small regular cards of encouragement so she could have her sister open one every week of chemo. She just needed them within the week because she was going to see her. So I prayed because it was going to be tough to get 15 cards done in one week and God said "tell her yes" so I did. He made all the cards come together so nicely and fairly quick. She loved them and knew her sister would too!

She told me that her sister was a Christian and more of a flower/beauty type of girl. So I knew I had enough stuff in my craft room so I went looking and found so much wonderful stuff that fit what I felt she wanted for her sister.

This two cards were made using Stampin' Up supplies (I believe both are discontinued but if you have them like me maybe this will inspire you!) But they do still have the Hand Penned Petals Stamp Set so I'll link my friends site. I have not used the stamps yet just the beautiful cards in the card pack.

Today is the last day to make a project with the February Stamp of the Month at From the Heart Stamps (FTHS) and I just got it done! This month hasn’t allowed for much crafting and now I’m sick with a cold. Some people can craft when they are sick…I’m not one of them. My creative juices are plugged up with sinus crap at the moment so I’m surprised I was able to get this done. I’m happy with it for now we will see when I feel better if I still like it! I made it with one of my Best Friends in mind that has a birthday in April. Her favorite color combo is yellow and dark blue so that is what I used.

Don't Sweat it

Inside Card: … you still look like a Spring Chick!

This stamp, Birthday Candle Birdbrain, comes with a ton of sentiments! I was having a hard time people which one to use! I colored the bird in photoshop (have a hard time with yellow when I do watercolors) the rest I did with Tombow markers.

I used Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #208 as my inspiration. Instead of the second block on the bottom I did a long skinny one to hold my sentiment. I also offset the image from the blue mat.

CHALLENGES:

1) February Stamp of the Month Challenge @ From the Heart Stamps – Use the image provided and get next months Monthly image free!

2) Simply Create Too Challenge #56 – Shop in your Stash! I so need this challenge….about a 100 times! Everything is from my scrap drawer too! I even had the yellow embossed piece in there! Nothing new on this card!

3) Seize the Birthday – Anything Goes. No topping this week just make a birthday card!

4) March Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – Product Category – Fiber/Thread (no ribbon)…I’m hoping floss is okay!

5) Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #208 – Use the sketch provided as your inspiration.

6) Sentimental Sundays Challenge #195 – Make your own background paper

SUPPLIES:

Digital Image: Birthday Candle Birdbrain @ From the Heart Stamps

Inks/Markers: the bird was colored in photoshop, the rest I used Tombow markers (blue – 452, 565, 535) (yellow – 055)

I was soooo excited when the free image from Faith at Designed2Delight was a CUTE snowman – Catching Flakes!! I’m so glad she brought back the Free Stamp of the Month Challenge….I love her stamps. I would try out for her DT except they are crazy talented and can color her images so beautifully….so I will stick to playing along each month. Coloring is not my thing but I try. And I have fun…. which is what matters most.

So tonight I just got to play to play…no agenda… except getting it done before midnight so I can get next months stamp! Nothing like waiting till the last minute!! So here it is….

I used Tuesday Morning Sketches #172 as my inspiration. Thanks for taking a peek!

Yep, it is the 15th of the month so it is time to release some really cute images that I’m sure you will love as much as I do!

For my first card I used Tulip Wreath Digital Image

As soon as I saw the stamp my head started swarming with all the different card ideals I could do with this. I actually have another one I would like to try soon if I could ever find the time. This card was inspired by Laura Bassen at CASE Study Challenge….. check out her amazing inspirational piece that was the focus of Challenge #80. This was also HEAVILY inspired by my friend Stephanie!! I’m so glad God brought us together. She challenges me and inspires me ALL the time and she still isn’t tired of me yet!! Thanks Stephanie!!

You can’t tell but the flowers are pop dotted off the white cardstock to give them more dimension in real life!

My second card I used Friend in Need Digital Image

I decided to make this a Congratulations type of card. The inside sentiment is “Follow Your Dreams (they know the way)” which I got from Ginger’s House (Jan 6, 2012 post) I love her word art and she also cracks me up with her funny stories! She has the gift of writing that is for sure. Check it out….and if you want a funny store read the March 12, 2012 entry but I must warn you it WILL CAUSE YOU TO LAUGH OUT LOUD!!!

I was struggling with a design for the card. So I went to Splitcoast Stampers and found the perfect inspiration at  bmbfield gallery  Check it out super cute card! Thanks for the inspiration.

There is a TON of CUTE releases so check them out at Clear Dollar Stamps!
