Music Wedding

I had an order for a wedding with blues and grey tones and music themed…she is an opera singer. I didn’t get to April’s Card Sketch #2 – originally a Paper Craft Crew #235 – last month and when I looked at it I thought it would work for a wedding card. This is what I came up with and was very pleased with it.

May Inspirational Card Challenge – favorites category.

SUPPLIES:
Cardstock: Bazzill (Jacaranda, cinder, smokey, bazzill white)
Accents/Tools: Twine from Target, heart rhinestones, The Paper Studio Music embossing folder, EK Success 1/16 pop dots, cricut, Basic George Cricut Cartridge

Music Birthday

So I needed a music themed birthday for a 96 year old (I made her one last year too). Since I had just made the music wedding card I thought maybe I could put flowers instead of hearts and this is how it turned out. The Recollections flowers were a RAK from TexasMomOf4 several years ago.

I made another one (see attached) but made it general birthday with a Happy Birthday embossing folder.

I used Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #235 for my inspiration.

Yellow Gray Black Flower.JPG

So I posted the sketch on the Sketch Challenge (Feeling Sketchy #147) and Karen posted the color challenge (gray, yellow, white).

FeelingSketchy6-15-16

Well I happened to have a ton of yellow and gray scraps because I helped a friend last year with wedding signs and she gave me all the scraps. So I decided the sketch and color challenge should go together. Well then I went to Michael’s and guess what they had in their $1.50 bins….yep yellow, white, gray and black flowers. They were PERFECT!! They only had big ones in white…so I took off the center of the white one and put a medium black flower on top of it. So then I went back to the jewel aisle and found the perfect jewel swirls and got them discounted with a coupon!!! SCORE!!! I finally got a “wow” out of my husband when he looked at it….haven’t got one lately so I was excited!! I left the tag blank because it really could be for many different occasions…birthday, wedding, sympathy.

So I was going to go horizontal with the sketch but after seeing Cardiographer use a vellum tag to the side I decided to do that same thing with cardstock. Thanks Cardiographer.

13th Anniversary Sage

A lady at work requested a Happy 13th Wedding Anniversary for her daughter and son-in-law. She said one of their weddings colors was Sage. I used lace because that was the traditional gift for the 13th anniversary.

Wedding Hearts

I love to see God work in his perfect timing. Deedee put out this new adorable stamp, Two Hearts, and I wanted to use it for the Allsorts Challenge – Love is All Around that Deedee’s is sponsoring. I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with it until one of my “customers” at work stopped me and asked for a wedding card he needed now because the wedding is on the 14th (he has to mail it!) Since guys don’t know to ask colors of weddings I had him send me a photo of the invitation. So with the colors, pink and green, decided on I went looking for a sketch and found sketch #25 at STAMPlorations Blog to be perfect. stamplorationschallengesketch25-web

I conquered a CAS sketch!!

One of the older gentleman at church asked me to make a wedding card for a young couple at the church that is getting married this week. I found out their colors are blush and gray. Karen is hosting October Card Sketch Challenge and she usually throws in a CAS sketch that just stumps me. I’m soooo not a CAS person. Well, I was not going to let the sketch get the best of me!! This is sooo funny but I was so happy that I conquered this sketch….I love the outcome!! Thank you Karen for pushing me out of my comfort zone (I like to give you crap but I’m truly grateful!).

Bride & Groom

Clearly Digi Stamps (Clear Dollar Stamps) is sponsoring the Twist of Faith Challenge #17 – White and Gold Only. So come over and play as the random prize winner will receive a $15 voucher for use at the Clearly Digi Stamps store.

I try to play along in challenges that CDS sponsors which sometimes is a challenge….as this one proved to be. I didn’t want to make a Christmas card so trying to fit white and gold only can be tricky. I do like that I was pushed out of my comfort zone because I like how the card turned out.  I used The Deconstructed Sketch #81 which was a tag sketch that I modified to fit a card.

Hope you will come play with us.

SUPPLIES:

Stamps: Wedding Digital Image and Now and Forever Digital Image both at Clearly Digi Stamps (Clear Dollar Stamps)
Cardstock: Bazzill white, hobby lobby -gold
Inks: colored changed on computer and printed out
Accents/Tools: Cricut, Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge, Basic George Cricut Cartridge, gold flower brads, EK corner punch, pop dots, embossing folder,

Wedding Cards

A lady at work requested a wedding card. She gave me an invitation so I could see the theme and colors (yellow, blue, grey). They are also outdoor people that love to hike. On the invitation they had a tree and Isaiah 61:3 and she said if it could have those that would be awesome. So my husband drew me a tree and this is what I came up with. I did two so she could pick which one she likes the best.

It is yellow and grey I promise!! The sun made it look funny.

I have always wanted to try to make this card fold, Zig Zag or Center Step Fold, so I decided I would do it! I look at two tutorials and figured it out Splitcoaststampers and High Hopes Stamps (I like the drawing she has).

CHALLENGE:

1) Card Crafter’s Circle Challenge #29 – Under Construction! But we’re talking construction in the creation of your card… we would love to see your creations that are more than a single-fold or gate-fold card…. what’s your favorite?
