I have a standing order for hummingbirds for Mother’s Day. I broke down and bought “Humming Along” by Stampin’ Up. So glad I did. Since I’m not a stamper or good at coloring I decided to stamp on paper that was done like watercolor! Then I used the dies to cut it out. I used the abstract image that comes in the die as the background. It took me a little bit to figure out how to do it since the gold was thin and when it went through the xyron it would be hard to put it on without it ripping. Finally glued the gold on some plain cardstock and then cut it.
Even though the sketch showed ink I did a die cut….which is more my style!
CHALLENGES: 1) May 2019 Card Sketch – Sketch #4. Original sketch found here.

To my tweet friend
on St. Patrick’s Day
wishing you good luck & happiness
I didn’t get any St. Patrick’s Day cards done for this year but still wanted to play in the Monthly Challenge at From the Heart Stamps so now I have a card ready for next year!!
Product:
Digital Image: Lucky Lil Birdie @ From the Heart Stamps
Cardstock: Bazzill (Raven, Mexican Poppy, white)
Patterned Paper: My Mind’s Eye (Collectable – Remarkable)
Inks: colored in Photoshop by my wonderful husband and printed on a Canon Inkjet Printer
Accents/Tools: black rhinestones
Had a last minute birthday request! So I whipped this together tonight…thank you Lord for card sketches and husbands that will color in Photoshop with a minutes notice!
I needed a sympathy card for a co-worker who lost her mother-in-law suddenly. I used Sketch #5 from NSD Card Sketch Challenge….just stretched it out to fit a 5 x 7 card since the bird was so big. And instead of having tags I used the flower.
CHALLENGES: 1) NSD Card Sketch Challenge – sketch #5 – original sketch Viva La Verve Sept week 2 2011. 2) May Inspirational Card Challenge – Bonus Category – have a bird on the card.
SUPPLIES: Image: cut from KaiserCraft (Loire Valley Collection) Cardstock: Bazzill (Crimson, French Vanilla, Raven) Accents/Tools: Cricut, Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge, 1/16 EK Success pop dots, cutterbee scissors
I had a request for a Mother’s Day Card with a chicken on it. So I dug out a retired Daydream Diane’s image and kept it pretty simple. The chicken is colored with the polka dot body so I just found similar paper in my stash that matched.
Inside: YOU! That’s whooo-whooo! Happy Valentine’s Day
A lady at work requested 2 valentine cards one with an owl and one with a panda. So I used Owl my Love Digital image from Deedee’s Digis which is no longer in business (darn life gets in the way!). I used a sketch posted at Scrapbook.com in the Feb Card Sketch Challenge. Again everything came from the scrap drawers except for the brown card base.
3) Digitally Sweet Challenges #147 – spots and stripes. Can only see a few spots but they are on the circle patterned paper.
Supplies:
Digital Image: Owl My Love from Deedee’s Digis (no longer in business)
Cardstock: Bazzill
Patterned Paper: Rusty Pickle
Inks: pre-colored digital image printed on Canon Inkjet Printer
Accents/Tools: Cricut, Cricut cartridge elegant edges, Making Memories edge distresser, corner rounder, 1/16 Ek Success pop dots,
I tried paper piecing the image so I wouldn’t have to ask my husband to color the image in but it just would not cooperate. I tore the head off one bird and smudge black ink on another so gave up! I went to my husband with the saddest wife eyes possible and asked him to color up the bird…I had managed to do the ornaments all by myself! Of course there is no shading or fancy coloring but it is colored! I found the sketch on Sketch Saturday and thought it would be perfect.
I saw someone had used the sentiment “Define Good” and thought that would be perfect for my Brother’s card so I made one of each!
I can’t remember where I saw that challenge a month or so ago but liked it so I used it for Product Category in the November Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com. Here is my take on the challenge:
CHALLENGES:
Nov Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – Product Category – plaids or checks. I also used sketch in the upper left corner from sketch category.
Crafting by Designs Challenge – Times 3. Must have 3 of something. I have 3 butterflies, 3 orange circles, 3 yellow circles, 3 pearls on each butterfly.
My nurse friend asked me to make her co-workers birthday cards through out the year. There were 3 total in November and I already made one so here are the last two I made for this month.
CHALLENGES:
Nov Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – Sketch Category – bottom right sketch…instead of the 3 little circles I used butterflies and moved them up a little.

I got to play along over at Tuesday Morning Sketches since Deedee’s Digis is sponsoring this week. This is what I came up with.
CHALLENGES:
November Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com – Photo inspiration category – use the photo to inspire your card. I took from the Christmas stocking hanging on the stairs.
Oh I would love to be somewhere tropical or anywhere with water really (I’d even take a lazy river or pool!)….then I would be in my happy place! I realized that today is my really only day off till the end of the month since I’m getting my niece on Monday-Tuesday. So I decided I better get my Progressive challenges done. Which will shock them because I’m usually posting with only hours to spare! I decided to paper piece this image since my husband has been busy with work I didn’t want to ask him to color it. Took longer but I love it. I might ask him to color it in these colors when he has time so I can make more with my left over paper. Too hard to make more than one when you paper piece! I love how this turned out. It came together pretty easy since I found the perfect sketch at Mojo Monday and then found the color scheme at Colour Q.
