Scarecrow & Turkey Thanksgiving

Wishing you a Turkey Day stuffed with everything good! Happy Thanksgiving

I was out of Thanksgiving cards so when I had my sale some ladies asked me to make some up quick. So I came up with 3 cards that they could order. Got them done in the nick of time!

When I first saw this digital stamp I loved the Friendship quote because it is so true! Last year friends of ours brought over Apple Cider to one of our marriage groups and my husband loved it! So it reminded me of our dear friends that shared their apple cider. I thought it would make a cute gift to package it and have that saying on there. That is how this pocket card gift came about. I used the Pocket Card Tutorial on Splitcoaststampers. I include the paper slip along with the packet of cider so a note could be written to the recipient (see 2nd photo). And yes that is the yummy cider packet my husband now loves!

I decided instead of the apple I would turn mine into a cup.  I printed out the outline image on patterned paper and cut the “cup” out. Then I printed the colored version of image and cut the cider and the leaves out. I glued them together to get the completed look.

The Card Challenge has different categories and one of them is a Color category. Angels and Leaves and so so much more!

Just love the 15th of month! No, I don’t get paid BUT I do get to play and show-off  the new fun stamps for the month that was released at Clear Dollar Stamps. This month has been hectic with work and studying for a promotion and life in general so it was nice to take a craft day and play with the new products.

First I played with Angels Digital Image. Our new designer, Austin Owens, sure puts a lot of images and sentiments into her stamps. There was so much to choose from and all so cute…..so you will be seeing more of this stamp set for sure! I decided to play with the blue and yellow angel. I loved how it turned out….and I already know who I’m sending this to! I used The Deconstructed Sketch #66 for inspiration…love her sketches!

CHALLENGES:

The next digital stamp I got to try out was Leaves Digital Image. I love leaves and fall. My house is done in a leaves theme and color scheme. Makes me happy! Oooohhh, I just gave myself an idea….my something to decorate my house with using this stamp set!!! After life calms down I will have to do just that!!  Okay back to the card I made. This card is special because it is going to one of the pastors our church is praying for. There are actually 2 pastors going through health issues that we are praying for so I wanted to use this stamp to make a card for one of them. I then decided that the “lift” card at the card challenge on Scrapbook.com would be perfect for this…..and it was. I used the Black and White version of this stamp. To get the leaves the color I wanted them I recolored them on the computer. Here is a tutorial that tells you how to do that.

You know when your husband smiles and nods when he sees it that it turned out pretty good! Now to get it to the church for people to sign!
