Welcome Baby

A lady requested a baby girl card for a baby shower but didn't want it totally girly. The invitation had big blue roses and one pink rose. The lady also had a photo of the blanket she was giving and it had these colors in it so that is what I went for. The flower paper for the banner had more pink flowers in it but they got cut off.

I used Sketch #5 of the September 2023 Card Sketch Challenge (original Sketch Cardabilities #85). See below for photo.

SUPPLIES:
Cardstock: Bazzill (Navy-OP, Romance), American Crafts (Blue Jay)
Patterned Paper: Close to my Heart (Lovely-Picture my life cards), Green background piece came from a kit (Annie's CardMaker kit of the month-A Beautiful Life)
Accents/Tools: Metal Dies (Queen & Company sentiments #2), Flower punch (EK Success), Metal Dies - leaves (Spellbinders - Marisa's Bouquet), Doddlebug Sprinkles (bumblebee glitter), Stampin' Up embossing folder (ornate floral)

Vikings Girl Baby Card

A friend at work ordered a Vikings Themed Baby Card for a guy she works with that is having a baby girl. I found this image on the internet and thought it was perfect. I cut it out and popped dotted it.

I used MFTWSC244 as my inspiration which is Sketch #1 at the September Card Sketch Challenge on Scrapbook.com.

SUPPLIES:
Cardstock: Bazzill

I then realized I made this card in 2016 and forgot to post it. This is another card I made for a guy I worked with that year. He had a baby boy and they did his room in Alabama Crimson  Tide.

Alabama Onsie

I used a cut file for the onsie but I can’t remember which one.

This is my 2nd card with sketch #1 from the August Card Sketch Challenge. I saw this sketch and thought it would be perfect for a friend of mine who just became a grandma for the first time. The colors on the card are the colors of the nursery. I wanted a fun happy card cause that is the type of grandma my friend will be. Now the card didn’t come out as cute as I pictured but she loved it so that is all that matters. And I finally used my Sew Easy that I have had forever!!

Baby with Ruffles

Baby with Ruffle Bottom

So one of my co-workers is having child #3 that wasn’t planned. He has 2 boys now and isn’t so sure about having a girl. I laughed and said it will take 2 seconds when she arrives and he will be wrapped around her finger. So I decided I was going to make him a total girly baby card. Then another friend at work needed a baby card for her daughter-in-laws baby shower. She saw a baby card that was of shorts with ruffles on them and wanted something similar. So I pulled up this FREE image and thought “ohhh can I stick ruffles on those diaper shorts!!” Hobby Lobby had trim on sale this week so it was perfect timing. And that is how this card came about! My friend wanted teal and hot pink since that is the colors her DIL is using. I still have to make one for my co-worker but I think I will make his a little different.

Farm themed baby card

Farm Baby Congratulations

Inside: It’s a Boy! Congratulations

One of the guys I worked with last year just had his first baby so I wanted to make him a congratulations card. From what I could get out of him is that his wife was doing a vintage farm theme…well that’s how I interpreted it! So I went through my files and searched the internet and thought Farm Critters and Barn from Doodle Pantry fit the theme. I was stumped at first as what to do with the image because I just didn’t want to print it out and stick it on the card. So I went back to the internet where I found this awesome card on The Rubber Cafe Design Team Blog. The design it was the perfect design for all the elements I wanted on the card. My best friend, Stephanie, took my ideals and made the cute saying!

Sweet Baby Boy and Girl

Sweet Baby Boy

I made three cards for my old boss to choose from…this is one of them. I was inspired by this card
http://sylvia-anne-poppyspapercraftpatch.blogspot.com/2014/03/sweet-baby-girl-at-atcas.html
I don’t do white space well so I decided to have a colored background that matched by alphabet stickers!! I used the Hammer Embossing Technique. The blue one wasn’t done well because it was my first try…I learned you do have to hit pretty hard.

I also made this in pink since I had pink stickers just like the blue… and I made 2 in each color since I did one in all caps and the other in all lower case.
